The Paris Commune as a trigger to talk about the city, communities, public space, gender, fears, and resistance. I talked with Catarina Botelho about the act of breathing as an act of freedom. And with André Guedes on the exploration of the idea of happiness from the utopia of the Paris Commune.

Leitura de textos do livro “Great Anonymous Sex” de João Pedro Vale e Nuno Alexandre Ferreira. O livro foi publicado em 2019, com os textos escritos por Nuno Alexandre Ferreira para a peça sonora com o mesmo título, apresentada inicialmente na Galeria Cristina Guerra como parte da exposição “A Mão na Coisa, A Coisa na Boca, A Boca na Coisa, A Coisa na Mão (2018)”. Depois de impressos, os livros foram intervencionados por João Pedro Vale, que ejaculou de forma aleatória sobre as páginas dos 50 exemplares que foram depois, individualmente embalados a vácuo.

Reading of texts from the book "Great Anonymous Sex" by João Pedro Vale and Nuno Alexandre Ferreira. The book was published in 2019, with the texts written by Nuno Alexandre Ferreira for the sound piece with the same title, initially presented at the Cristina Guerra Gallery as part of the exhibition "A Mão na Coisa, A Coisa na Boca, A Coisa na Mão (2018)". After being printed, the books were intervened by João Pedro Vale, who ejaculated randomly on the pages of the 50 copies that were then individually vacuum-packed.

Curator and researcher, Irene Campolmi, speaks with artist, writer, performer Victoria Sin on the entangled trajectories and uses of drag and science fiction. Exploring drag as the embodiment of a fantasy that takes one's out of the current embodiment, the conversation reflects on its intrinsic connection with science fiction and fantasy as the view from somewhere else.

O território do "comum" tem vindo a revelar-se como uma intensa interrogação do pensamento e ação contemporânea. O questionamento sobre o que é e como se configura o "comum", ou os comuns, no agora ganha uma outra urgência perante a vivência pandémica e todos os fenómenos associados que vivemos.
Será este o momento de consolidar configurações alternativas de "comum" que já estavam a ser experimentadas? Deve ser o agora encarado como crucial para a concretização desse "comum" reinventado? Ou, pelo contrário, com a lógica individualista e neoliberal refinada e aprofundada estaremos perante o colapso de qualquer possibilidade de "comum? E qual o lugar do "comum" nos campos da cultura e da criação artística? E que contributos estas dimensões da vida podem dar para a construção de um "comum" ainda impossível?

O "comum" nestes tempos como uma multiplicação de possíveis comuns futuros a serem experimentados hoje.

The territory of the "common" has been revealing itself as an intense questioning of contemporary thought and action. The questioning about what the "common" is and how it is configured, or the common ones, now gains another urgency in the face of the pandemic experience and all the associated phenomena that we live.
Is this the moment to consolidate alternative configurations of "common" that were already being experienced? Should this now be seen as crucial for the realization of this reinvented "common"? Or, on the contrary, with the refined and deepened individualistic and neoliberal logic we are facing the collapse of any possibility of "common"? And what is the place of the "common" in the fields of culture and artistic creation? And what contributions can these dimensions of life make to the construction of a "common" that is still impossible?

The "common" in these times as a multiplication of possible future common to be experienced today.

"Complexity Resilience" is a terminology used to describe an individuals ability to adapt and cope with the stresses of uncertainty in an ever-changing world. For this episode of Walk&Talk Podcast Series, artist and composer Colin Self is joined in dialogue by trauma healing practitioner Franziska Dieterich and mindfulness meditation instructor Caroline Contillo to connect various methods in which we can strengthen our resilience.

Architecture has always provided for mankind’s fundamental needs by creating places for social interaction, community and exchange. By loosing their functions or inhabitance this spaces become ruins. Recently, however, these environments have migrated to the digital world where they are also forsaken. This podcast looks to abandoned digital spaces that, although without the material decay consequent of temporality, bear many of the affective, phenomenological, and existential experiences that characterize a ruin.

O podcast apresenta uma conversa entre Irene Campolmi, curadora e investigadora independente e Diretora do Programa de Arte da Enter Art Fair; Michelangelo Miccolis, curador, performer e Diretor artístico do IMMATERIAL, o Programa de Performance da MATERIAL Art Fair na Cidade do México; e Louise O'Kelly, curadora e fundadora do BLOCK UNIVERSE, Festival Anual de Performance Independente em Londres.

Durante a quarentena, os três curadores reuniram-se espontaneamente em reuniões de Zoom para partilhar os seus sentimentos, preocupações e esperanças suscitadas por estarem isolados em casa e terem tempo para pensar nas suas práticas. Os curadores refletem sobre as mudanças que a pandemia trouxe à sua prática curatorial e a sua compreensão do desempenho em relação a um espaço público e social-distante pós-pandémico.
Ao longo dos meses, as suas reuniões de Zoom tornaram-se o seu espaço de intimidade, uma zona onde podiam genuinamente partilhar ideias sobre as preocupações relacionadas com o seu trabalho e as suas reflexões sobre o desempenho. O podcast recolhe pensamentos sobre o corpo performativo pós-pandémico, o público e a proximidade física, a noção de tempo e a sua percepção, o fim da "economia do evento" que caracteriza o mundo da arte, a comunidade artística, a agência da performance e a sua potencialidade para se tornar um campo de ensaio para coreografar futuras comunidades.

The podcast features a conversation between Irene Campolmi, independent curator and researcher and Head Art Program at Enter Art Fair; Michelangelo Miccolis, curator, performer and artistic director of IMMATERIAL, the Performance Program of MATERIAL Art Fair in Mexico City; and Louise O'Kelly, curator and founder of BLOCK UNIVERSE, Annual Performance Independent Festival in London.

During the lockdown, the three curators have spontaneously gathered in zoom meetings to share their feelings, concerns and hopes raised by being isolated at home and having time to think about their practices. The curators reflect on the changes that the pandemic had brought to their curatorial practice and their understanding of performance in relation to a post-pandemic public and social-distancing space.
Throughout the months, their zoom meetings became their space of intimacy, a zone where they could genuinely share thoughts on the concerns related to their jobs and their reflections on performance. The podcast collects thoughts on the performing body post-pandemic, the public and physical proximity, the notion of time and its perception, the end of the 'event economy' that characterises the art world, the art community, the agency of the performance and its potentiality to become a testing ground for choreographing future communities.

A curadora Ana Cristina Cachola e o sociólogo digital e artista Rodrigo Saturnino vão conversar sobre os conceitos de onsite e online na sua relação com o léxico e a vivência dos espaços contemporâneos, na sua diversidade e complementaridade, e sobre o crescente sedentarismo (digital) que implica tanto mobilidade (auto)regulada como a frequência recorrente dos mesmos lugares.
