This story hurts my heart. A minister in Toronto, Canada, has been affirmed in her role as lead minister in a United Church of Canada church, despite the fact that she has been a devout atheist for the last 10+ years. The "heresy trial" only led the church to keep her as minister, and led the denomination to keep the church in their fellowship. And yet, they deny the existence of God, and the authority of the Bible.
