Always Patsy Cline Presented by the Lakeland Players

A musical tribute to a country-western legend comes to life as the Lakeland Players present Always Patsy Cline, opening Friday, September 24th. Licensed by the family and the estate of Patsy Cline, the show celebrates the life and legacy of one of the most influential vocalists of the 20th century. Harvest at Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge

Join Kettle Moraine Land Trust and Geneva Lake Conservancy for a seed-collection outing to Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge in celebration of 2021 Land Trust Days! Volunteers from throughout the Hackmatack region will be on hand to harvest native prairie seeds under the guidance of professional staff from Kettle Moraine Land Trust and Geneva Lake Conservancy. Volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants, long sleeves, closed-toe shoes or boots, and a sun hat. Please bring your own seed collection bag (a reusable grocery bag is fine) and your own water. Seeds collected there during the Land Trust Days event will be turned over to the US Fish & Wildlife Service for native species enrichment within the Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge.

This weekend is poppin yall!

Its the Autumnal Equinox and you're invited to celebrate with GLAS Education! Gaze at the gas giants Jupiter and Saturn — as well as other celestial objects — through 8-inch Dobsonian telescopes, and then learn about the Autumnal Equinox itself as one of an assortment of astronomy and night sky activities during this wonder-filled night among the stars. The Autumnal Equinox Star Party takes place this Friday evening on the 900 Block Main Street in Lake Geneva! Get your tickets for this once-in-a-lifetime evening of stargazing here.

Returning for its 21st year, Delavan Scarecrow Fest kicks off at 10 am on Saturday, September 18th in historic Downtown Delavan! Head to the brick streets of the downtown for a free festival full of surprises around every corner. Kiddos can meet fuzzy friends at the Gee Funny Farm Petting Zoo, take home a pumpkin courtesy of the Delavan-Delavan Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, and win prizes at the Duck Pond. Enjoy live entertainment throughout the day, shop the craft and vendor fair, check out the Scarecrow Fest Car Show, and chow down on delicious bites from local food trucks. Scarecrow Fest concludes with an epic laser light show and concert with Pink Fraud at the Phoenix Park Bandshell at 7pm. Learn more about the festival here.

Whether you've been visiting Pearce's Farm Stand for as long as you can remember or have just recently visited for the first time, you're invited to Customer Appreciation Weekend! Festivities run all weekend long and include live music on the farm, concessions and food trucks, family activities, and of course the grand opening of this year's corn maze! The fun doesn't stop there! Jumping bales, lookout tower, climbing tubes, human hamster wheel, and more will be ready for the kiddos to adventure on. See you on the farm!


It's also Oktoberfest Weekend at The Runaway Micropub and Nanobrewery in Burlington! Head over to The Loop for all types of fall fun featuring german fare, an alpine climbing wall, and biergarten! If you miss out on the fun this weekend, Oktoberfest will return on the 28th and 2nd of October.

Back for its 60th year, Darien Corn Fest kicks-off this weekend at Darien West Park! Join in on the fun all weekend long starting Friday, September 10th through Sunday, September 12th. You had us at tacos. Head over to Lake Geneva House of Music this weekend for the first ever Lake Geneva Taco Fest, September 10th-12th! This three day festival will bring together 20+ food trucks, restaurants, and individuals to compete in the first ever Taco Cook Off! The sounds of bluegrass music and the fans who love it will once again take root in East Troy during East Troy Bluegrass Festival at Alpine Valley, September 11th and 12th. A full line-up of bluegrass bands and contests, plus lots of great food and East Troy Marketplace vendors, will take place from 10am to 5:30pm each day. Get your weekend wristbands at the gate!


Master Magician Brett Daniels takes to the stage for a limited-time residency at Tristan Crist Magic Theatre starting this weekend! The show is hip, bold and family-friendly. A fun theatrical experience suitable for all ages. What is up Walworth County?! We're coming at you from the WLKG studios on the first Thursday of September! And you know what that means? The BIG one is upon us!

That's right everyone, it is Fair weekend here in Walworth County! Catch the WCVB team at the Beer and Wine Trail Booth all weekend in the North Hall Vendor Area. We'll be handing out Travel Guides, local info, and promoting our Beer and Wine Trail from 10 am to 10 pm every day of the Fair!

New to the Fair this year, beer and wine will now be sold at the big event! This is the first time in 172 years that you can enjoy an ice-cold brewski while enjoying your favorite fair foods. 

Also this weekend, the Dementia Friendly Community Initiative will be hosting their Cycling Without Age Celebration in Veterans Park in Elkhorn! If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering to give seniors an exciting outdoor opportunity, check out their event from 10-1pm. They may even be offering free rides on their electric assisted trishaw bikes!

And finally, it is Labor Day weekend. We'll be bidding summer adieu all weekend at Lake Lawn Resort, Maxwell Mansion, and Grand Geneva Resort!

Its going to be an amazing weekend out there and we cannot wait to see you at the Fair!

It is the last weekend of August, and you know what that means? The weekend is PACKED with fun activities!


The 172nd Annual Walworth County Fair is coming up soon! The Fair runs September 1st-6th and the WCVB will be hosting a booth at the event each day! Stop by the biggest county fair in the state and say "hey" to Tim and Caroline and our amazing volunteers. 


The East Troy Railroad is hosting a Blue Night Photo Train for local photographers and train enthusiasts alike! Grab your cameras and head out to the Train Depot and get that once-in-a-lifetime shot you've been dreaming of, Friday August 27th. 


Grab your besties and head to Alpine Valley Resort for the Summer Sip and Shop on Saturday, August 28th! Browse over 50 local vendors, makers, and artisans and sip on margs, seltzers, and ciders with your squad. 


We're going to be one degree of separation from THE Kevin Bacon as he takes the stage for the finale of the Music By the Lake Summer Concert Series at George Williams College. The Bacon Brothers will bring their blues-rock stylings to the lakeside amphitheater and close out the summer with a show you won't want to miss, Sunday August 29th.

Calling all classic car guys! Madison Classics Summer Elkhorn Swap and Show returns to the Walworth County Fairgrounds Saturday and Sunday July 31st and August 1st.  Featuring over 1,000 vendors and countless show vehicles, even the most seasoned car guy will be impressed. If cars aren't quite your thing, lace up your dancing shoes and head to the Phoenix Park Bandshell on Friday, July 30th for Swing Dancing Lessons and the Jack Farina Band! Starting at 6pm, expert Swing Dancers from Danseuse Dance Academy will teach you how to chicken walk, sock hop, and charleston before the 16-piece Jack Farina Band takes the stage by storm. See you (and your sweetie) at the Bandshell. 


Speaking of Dancing, the legendary tale of Cinderella comes to life on stage at The Fireside Dinner Theater in Fort Atkinson. Enjoy a Sunday matinee performance of Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella with the whole family and relive the enchantment of the world's most enduring love story.

Although Tim will not be getting on a horse any time soon, the International Barrel Racing Association State Finals are on at the Walworth County Fairgrounds this weekend. All you horse lovers out there, this is one show you will not want to miss!

Now we're not mind readers, but local legend Joe Diamond is! Enjoy an evening of mystifying mind reading at Maxwell Mansion, Friday, July 23rd.
