SEASON 1: #022 - Your children face challenges you’ve never experienced… 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯

SEASON 1: #022 - Your children face challenges you’ve never experienced… 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯

The world we live in has changed so much… and with constant advances in technology, continues to change exponentially. Have you ever stopped to consider how this impacts your children or the young people around you?

We (parents and adults) simply cannot even imagine how the world appears to them and how such rapid changes and relentless influences (think social media!) impact them mentally and emotionally, so how can we help them? This is a question today's guest, Mallory Rothstein asks herself everyday.

The answer is not straightforward, indeed it’s complex and challenging, not to be solved by one thing alone, that said, she believes investment in the individual holds many of the answers. What does that mean exactly? It’s simple really, what Mallory points to is the need to help young people understand themselves, to understand their mind and perhaps most importantly, understand that they have choices, that their experience of life is largely influenced by how they react to what it throws at them…

Her goal, to help them experience, at an early age the practice of personal development, something she provides support through initiatives and collaborations with parents, children, high schools and local communities.

This podcast covers a lot of ground, including why this is so important to Mallory and what stimulated her passion for it.

Here’s just some of what we covered:

- How watching Oprah provided an escape for one young person and influenced a movement designed to support young people’s personal development

- Creating safe spaces for personal discovery, transformation and growth

- What high school kids really want… in order to trust and learn from you

- Being a role model - the importance of practicing what you preach

- The importance of confidentiality and trust when working with high school students

- What students can learn from high school alumni and how schools, students and parents can benefit from alumni initiatives

- How COVID has highlighted a desire from high school students for personal development programs, support and coaching

- The challenges young people face today (that you, as a parent, simply cannot understand) and how to help them make sense of them

- Understanding social media and the impact it has on your child - and how to help them navigate it’s influences

Plus so much more.

SEASON 1: #010 - Cultivating Communities - How Urban Gardening Is Transforming Local Neighbourhoods for the Better

Our guest today shares how he’s created a social enterprise that’s transforming communities one neighbourhood at a time… a journey born out of a desire to provide the best nutrition for his family.

Crop-Swap LA has grown exponentially since its inception, inspiring more and more people to grow their own fruits and vegetables in their backyards, whilst encouraging them to share what they don’t need with others… This small venture now provides food to local communities, those in need and has resulted in Jamiah being appointed as an advisor to the Mayor.

In this episode we discuss all this and more:

- How Crop-Swap LA is helping to address food shortage issues across the state

- Transforming front and backyards into urban gardens capable of supporting neighbourhoods, states and even nations worldwide

- Reconnecting plants and nature with humanity… why this is important and how Crop-Swap LA is playing its part in this

- Bringing technology into food growing and distribution via food boxes, delivery, pre-ordering and subscription

- Aquaponic gardening ideal for those living in apartments… meaning everyone can become an urban gardener

- The practice of Taoism and how it’s helped Jamiah personally, spiritually and in business

- The importance of creating groups to support, nourish, honour and lift you up

Ending with a reminder that however perfect someone’s life may appear to you, everyone has challenges, ups and downs … life isn’t perfect and finally, a beautiful invitation to go deeper in yourself and your own unique journey of alchemy.

SEASON 1: #003 - How we are moving from a pyramidal masculine model of awakening to a circular feminine model

SEASON 1: #003 - How we are moving from a pyramidal masculine model of awakening to a circular feminine model

Tej Steiner is the founder of heartcircle.com and author of 'Waking Up - With Everyone Around Us'. In this very personal podcast interview, Tej shares the '5 Ways of Being' - which transcend religious beliefs and lead to more presence.

- Being clear

- Being present

- Being real

- Being connected

- Being heart-directed

Far beyond the words though you'll learn why most of us find it so hard to acknowledge our own needs. How most of us are constantly in the 'giving channel' which leaves us depleted and clogging our receiving channel and what that means for our lives. If we are not able to open the receiving channel we will burn out - individually and collectively.

How the simple agreements of a heart circle can be used in all forms of group relating, from intimate relationships to families to work environments and communities.

It's a safe environment and a place where we can practice and experience presence and connection to our disowned parts.

The mind is supposed to be used for strategy after we identify what you truly want and from the gut what we truly need. Yet we collectively are overusing our minds for all decision making.  The agreements for heart circle are like a code - a code of light of what is true. The point to and answer questions like -

- Why am I here

- What the purpose of me doing something before I do it

- How can I go from constant strategising to drop into stillness

- Can I feel emotions without splashing and repressing

- How can I be more present

- How can I be more kind

If we collectively start to value these questions and set agreements, we'll experience a new way of being in relationship with ourself and others. People are hungry and craving for being naturally good together.

SEASON 1: #001 - Interpreting the mysteries of the indigenous people of South America to heal the western world

SEASON 1: #001 - Interpreting the mysteries of the indigenous people of South America to heal the western world

Marc-John Brown or MJB is a talented practitioner of modern shamanism, a practice he's studied since 2008 under the expert guidance and tutelage of Noe Lopez, one of 6 Shipibo brothers – all of whom work extensively with plant medicines. Noe has 23 years of experience in Curanderismo and is a lineage shaman of his own tradition – the Shipibo tradition.

MJB's studies have taken him to work and be in contact with, the native tribes of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Korea and Malaysia.

He believes that embracing these ancient ways of existing in perpetual exchange and harmony with our surroundings is key to a long and prosperous future for our planet and for our future generations and like his maestro, Noe, MJB is an advocate of Western participation in traditional ceremonies, allowing all nationalities to experience the healing powers of Ayahuasca, which as with all plant medicines are very beneficial for healing the body, soul, and mind.

In this episode we'll explore:

• Plant medicine and its relevance for transformation in the western world
• How he’s creating a blueprint on earth for sustainable community living
• The importance of respect for the people, the plants and the healing they bring
• What makes MJB unique in a world of modern-day shaman… in his own words, this “lights him up”
How he was able to identify the reality, the difference between who he’d become and who he was destined to be

Plus

• Something he’s never shared before publicly: the catalyst for everything he’s become and the pain he feels every day when he remembers it!
