Laced Nick Thune up with some DAHSAR gear. Also a few years later at The Bell Tower in Gowanus, Brooklyn to lace him with more DAHSAR gear but not with Damien Jurado during their Sad Music, Sad Comedy tour which would have been so up my alley because those two genres are what I’m about. Which is the most beautiful sentence I’ve ever read in regards to someone making furniture in this day and age. I met Dino for the first time at the Commercial Type Dahsar party for commercial classics. He knows how to run a bar. Drinks were flowing, he basically ran the party with us which was amazing. Ep 14 // SLOWKEY - House of Yes
Slowkey could sound like an animal. It could sound like a sloth going at a slow pace or it could be an animal that surprisingly can go really fast and surprise you with it’s unknown traits and characteristics that make you not know what to expect. My next guest is a friend from, you guessed it, Philadelphia where we used to party all the time and also get things done. My only fond memory is her going to all of Zak and Stoops parties called the ILL Society and let me tell you she’s the life of the party. Dani also moved up to New York. I knew she would because Slowkey was moving fast. Last time we met up she was working at Conde Nast and we had a meeting honestly just touch base instead of work. Slowkey became High-key and definitely the same animal she was in Philly. She is the Founder of Prophets Over Profits that honestly do the good work. I wish Dahsar sponsored one of her events She’s the director of partnerships at House of Yes where we shot our latest lookbook for the Commercial Type collaboration for Commercial Classics.

He’s been running Tattooed Mom’s for 23 years! Located at 530 South Street. Basically everyone’s favorite street in Philadelphia, Robert is the kind soul that you would always love running into. The endless conversations we would have of what shows would be on at Tattooed Moms? Craft shows, skate video releases, stand up comedy, the food specials, the bar is definitely a second home that is welcomed to all, every living life on every planet. If you’re an artist, you’re able to create whatever you’d like to wheatpaste your poster or sticker upstairs, anything you’d want to do. It’s basically a museum and it’s a spot I tell everyone who’s visiting Philly to go check out Tattooed Mom’s. We’ve done a collaboration with Tattooed Mom’s and we released a couple tees and 5panel hats that were a Dahsar classic. Robert has the most soothing voice that comfort anyone including a time like this. He should have section on the mindfulness app of just talking about art. Homeboy Sandman and I have a relationship like no other. Organic as ever. How I heard about him for the first time was when I met my friend James, spinning me his record “First of a Living Breed” in his apartment in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. James told me what he knew about Sandman and from there on I was hooked. The love language of music in the room having all these special people listening to Homeboy Sandman’s record made me one day hope to see him at a show. Surely enough, I saw him at the Hard Rock Cafe in Philadelphia with another favorite, Oddisee with my friend Amanda and before he got on stage I met up with him, had a conversation about his music and my brand Dahsar and I slipped him the ‘Hail Mary’ hat a Dahsar original, one of our first hats ever, which has an all over Virgin Mary print on the inside and right when he got on stage he wore it and he was the first person to wear my gear on stage. Fast forward, we collaborated on tour merch, released a couple 5-panels and t-shirts together and I went to a few shows in the states. Always a pleasure to see Homeboy Sandman anywhere on the streets. One of my favorite musicians in the game please welcome Homeboy Sandman. wearmanyhats.com dahsar.com
