Overachiever's Dilemma - Part 1 (When Success is Hard to Measure)

Success when we were in school use to be measured by grades. When we got an A, we got the stamp of approval we needed to know that we were succeeding! But in entrepreneurship? It doesn't work that way! Because of that, we experience what I like to call "overachiever's dilemma".

If you're a business owner, I am highly confident you will be able to relate. So sit back, get comfortable and let's talk about it!

2 Areas Entrepreneurs Struggle With The Most AND How To Overcome Them

2 Areas Entrepreneurs Struggle With The Most AND How To Overcome Them

Who do you need to become to be a successful entrepreneur?

Who do you need to be in order to accomplish your business goals?

My business coach asked me these questions a little over a year ago, and it took me until a little while ago to reconcile this with myself.

In today’s podcast, I wanted to share my own experiences with two aspects of being a business owner that I have struggled with in the hopes of helping others through it too.

The truth is, if you're not willing to commit to growth, to learning, to yourself, and who you need to become to actually run a business that aligns with your goals, you're not gonna get there.

When you’re in the early stages of your business’ growth, you can’t be afraid to make decisions because you fear failure; even if you don’t get it right it’s an opportunity to learn.

If you’re a little further along in your business, you may face a different challenge: letting go of control.

I’ll tell you what I’ve learned in my own experiences and my advice for other entrepreneurs going through the same situations. If you want to take your business to the next level, these might be areas that you need help with!

If one of those big decisions you've been putting off is getting help with your organic marketing, just know we're here when you're ready to talk about it! You can reach out to us anytime at https://www.getpatientsondemand.com/call.

How To Write USP Headlines People Can’t Help But Click (AND Improve SEO!)

How To Write USP Headlines People Can’t Help But Click (AND Improve SEO!)

What’s the first thing that people read when they come to your website?

Your headline, or unique service proposition (USP), is the first thing that someone sees when they arrive at your website. It needs to catch their attention AND make them want to take action.

BUT, it can also help optimize your SEO and help you rank higher in Google searches. What’s at the top of the page is very important from a ranking standpoint.

That’s why it’s ESSENTIAL to write a headline or USP that uses lead-generating language, but ALSO includes the main service offered and the location of your clinic.

In this week’s video, I walk you through writing a perfect headline that checks all the boxes.

If you’re looking for a team of SEO experts that will help you optimize your clinic’s website from a ranking standpoint AND help you connect with your perfect patient, set up a time to chat with us TODAY at https://www.getpatientsondemand.com/call.

How To Fill Your Clinic’s Schedule ASAP

How To Fill Your Clinic’s Schedule ASAP

In last week’s check-in with our clients, we discussed various ways to fill a clinic’s schedule during slower periods of the year (especially during the holidays!).

One of our clients, Dr. Chris Sovey, posed several questions about how to achieve higher website traffic using SEO.

But SEO isn’t the only way to get website traffic in the short term, there are more effective ways of doing so!

If you’re trying to fill your clinic’s schedule, there are plenty of ways you can get started TODAY, without putting any money upfront.

You’re probably wondering…HOW do I do it?

The best way to do this is by borrowing other people’s lists. Other practitioners, gym owners, and massage therapists, pretty much anyone who might have some overlap with your perfect patients.

Start with an introduction, and offer to collaborate with them, whether it’s a free workshop at their location or a joint Zoom call presentation on what you can offer their clients.

These mutually beneficial relationships will allow you to grow your network of patients and build relationships in your local area that will keep your books full in the long run.

Looking for the 1-on-1 support that we offer our clients when they face obstacles with their clinics? It’s included in our Patients on Demand System! Give us a call TODAY to see how else we can help you grow your PT business at https://www.getpatientsondemand.com/call.

The Biggest Mistake You Can Make With Digital Marketing

The Biggest Mistake You Can Make With Digital Marketing

→ Link to video on the 6 key areas of a PT business: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wN2Nwrm4qo

This week’s episode of Patients on Demand is actually a throwback to a podcast I recorded in the spring of 2021, while I was putting the finishing touches on our Patients on Demand System.

The episode was inspired by a potential client that I had been talking with, who was telling me about her struggles getting her PT practice off the ground.

She was working part-time seeing patients, and she had invested all this money in a CRM, Google ads, and other things, but she just wasn’t getting the business she expected.

Many PT practice owners may be tempted to do the same: investing in all of these super cool marketing tools before your clinic even has the business that can fully utilize them.

There are several steps to take before you jump in and spend all of that money on digital marketing, and it all starts with your message and other aspects of your PT practice that need to be perfected before you can really enjoy the benefits of a CRM or other marketing tools.

Otherwise, your revenue will be spent on the technology you aren’t able to use yet when you could be investing it in other areas of your business!

If you need an expert that can evaluate where your PT practice is at, and how to get it to the next level, reach out to us at  https://www.getpatientsondemand.com/call today!

3 NECESSARY Ingredients for a Compelling Online Bio

3 NECESSARY Ingredients for a Compelling Online Bio

Did you know that the “Meet the Staff” page on a healthcare provider’s website is the 2nd most visited page?

When people find your PT clinic online, they want to get to know YOU before they come in for treatment.

Health issues, injuries, or nagging aches and pains are difficult enough to deal with on their own, and finding the right provider (especially when it’s coming out of their pocket) is even tougher!

This is why building trust and authority is ESSENTIAL when you’re appealing to patients online. They want to get to know YOU and your staff before they entrust you with their struggles.

An online bio is what they look for to feel safe and comfortable enough to come in for treatment. But you can’t just list your credentials and your accomplishments and expect it to be enough.

People need to feel CONNECTION in order to make the decision. This is what TRANSFORMS them from website visitors or leads into patients.

There are 3 NECESSARY ingredients for a compelling online bio for healthcare professionals, and they answer the following questions:

  1. What PROOF do you have that you understand my problems and can help me fix them?
  2. Who are YOU really?
  3. What qualifications do you have to HELP ME?

If you write a bio that includes all of these components, you will have people connecting with you and feeling comfortable to come and see you for PT services before they even walk in the door of your clinic.

If you’re looking for more guidance on how to build authority for your practice online but aren’t sure where to start, schedule a time to talk with us and we can help! Just go to https://www.getpatientsondemand.com/call and reach out to us ASAP!

How to Hire A Marketing Assistant That Will TRANSFORM Your Clinic

How to Hire A Marketing Assistant That Will TRANSFORM Your Clinic

When you’re in the process of hiring, the best thing to do is look for someone else who successfully does this job that you’re looking to hire!

In this week’s coaching session, we had the opportunity to speak with Ryan, who works as a marketing assistant for one of our PT website clients.

He guided us through his marketing background, how his hiring process was, and what he did to get acclimated to his new position in the physical therapy niche for the first time.

Ryan’s success in his position as a marketing assistant is something you should take notes on if you’re looking to hire right now or sometime in the future.

He offered amazing insight and really highlighted some of the most important aspects of the hiring process, both for potential employees and for the business looking to hire.

If you are looking for a partner that is going to TRANSFORM your online marketing, online lead generation, and really get you more patients on demand, but you want that reciprocation, and you want somebody else to pour into you like we do for our clients, just reach out to me at https://ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy today.

*~* KEY TAKEAWAYS

A marketing assistant really needs to be an expert in the relationship business above all else.

Some characteristics to look for when hiring a marketing assistant, or for any position in your clinic, would be an in-depth awareness of people, and an understanding of how their role fits into the bigger picture.

DNA download, or learning the ins and outs of a business, is a crucial part of onboarding for any new employee, because understanding how the practice works and the strengths and weaknesses of the staff can offer insights on what the new hire will need to do to fill in the blanks.

How To Keep Your PT Website Ahead of The SEO Game in 2022

How To Keep Your PT Website Ahead of The SEO Game in 2022

***Link to the Google Update episode → VIDEO & PODCAST

As we approach the end of the year, it’s a great time to reflect on what to do moving forward, what knowledge to acquire that you might not have in the past year, and what decisions need to be made to make 2022 better.

In my own personal reflection, I realized that it would be helpful to share a little bit more about Google’s recent updates and how they affect your PT website rankings, especially so you can make the right changes in 2022.

Many people think that once you create a website for your business, you’ll be set for a few years, which is far from the truth. We’ve seen changes in how potential clients respond, lead generation trends, and getting more patients online in just six months!

The biggest change over the last year that we’ve made for our website clients is the transition from mobile-friendly to mobile-first in response to Google’s changes that have largely moved ranking and indexing to be based on mobile websites rather than desktop versions.

Mobile-friendly websites just aren’t cutting it anymore, because they are adaptable to mobile devices but not designed to work the best on them. And how your website works is one of the major considerations that Google has for your ranking.

Google is the biggest search engine on the internet, and therefore keeping up with their standards is a necessity to keep your website working smart for you and your PT business.

If you want a support team that automatically keeps your website up to date with all the new technological changes so you don’t have to worry about it, you can reach out to see if we can work together today at https://ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy

*~* KEY TAKEAWAYS

Now is a great time to reflect on how to keep your PT business up to date with all of the changes that have taken place throughout the year, such as the massive Google update in early October.

Websites need to be designed mobile-first since 60-80% of PT website visitors come from people on their phones, and Google ranks based on your mobile site’s capabilities.

Recently, I heard a quote that completely changed my thought process when it comes to my business from another GENIUS entrepreneur, Jake Kelfer, over on the Cashflow Tactics podcast.

At the very end of the podcast, he shares something his father told him before his first book launch when it comes to getting what he wants out of life.

He reminded him that everyone wants the same thing: success, a great family, a comfortable life…

And that there are no shortcuts to getting what you want, other than STARTING RIGHT NOW.

In this week’s episode of Patients on Demand, I expand on this and how it can be applied to us as PT entrepreneurs, and how it can radically change the way we accomplish our business goals for the future.

As PT business owners, we’re always looking for shortcuts to accomplish our desired outcomes, and we end up wasting our time and not making the hard decisions that will actually move us forward.

The key to success is making those decisions, no matter how difficult it may feel in the moment. The only shortcut is to start right now.

You may not realize this, but your clinic’s website might be one of the greatest shortcuts to success as the central hub of your brand’s representation online. And that it can start working for you NOW.

If you need help taking the shortcut to get more new patients and making your website work for you, we’d be happy to chat with you. Spots are filling up fast since Q4 is one of the busiest times of the year for us, so sign up at https://ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy TODAY!

How To Sell Your Online Course Post-Pandemic To Grow Your PT Practice In The New Year

How To Sell Your Online Course Post-Pandemic To Grow Your PT Practice In The New Year

During the pandemic, many business owners spent a lot of time developing online PT programs for their clients since their clinics were shut down or severely limited in capacity.

Now that things are slowly returning to normal, people are coming in for therapy again and there’s less of a need for this online content, a lot of us are wondering...what can I do with this thing I spent all this time creating?

You’re probably thinking, let me put it on my existing website with my other offerings so it’s available for all the people that are already finding my website!

Before you add your online PT course or content to your website or even create a new website for it, there are a few things you should consider.

1. Who do you want to purchase your online course?

If your current website is targeting a specific audience, it may not align with the clientele that you want to sell your course to. If it aligns with the course content, you want to make sure that you market it the right way so that the main focus of your website is still to get patients into your clinic.

2. What do you want people to do first when they find your clinic online?

Is it truly a lead magnet that can nurture someone in and therefore present it upfront and make an attractive offer at the beginning?

Or is it something that should be on the backend that will be sold as an upsell at the clinic?

In this week’s episode of Patients on Demand, I’ll show you the best ways to incorporate your online resources with your existing PT practice without dissuading someone from purchasing something they need (like physical therapy).

This is something we have helped many of our clients accomplish, so if you’re looking for help optimizing all of your PT business’ assets to grow your business and serve more people in your community, you can reach out to us TODAY at https://ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy!

Overflow 101 | How To Manage When Demand for PT Exceeds Your Clinic’s Supply

Overflow 101 | How To Manage When Demand for PT Exceeds Your Clinic’s Supply

One of my clients recently reached out to me about a problem she was having with her physical therapy clinic.

She was getting too many inquiries from her website of people wanting to come in for PT, and she wanted to put a notice on her website that she wasn’t seeing new patients.

In my opinion, this is an amazing problem to have! Overflow is a sign that you have other problems in your business and presents you with an opportunity to fix them.

If you’re faced with more patients than you can handle, sending them away should be your last choice. You never know the long-term impact this will have on your potential new clients and your business in the future.

Instead, always be looking to grow your business by at least 5-10% each year to make up for inflation, changes in the market, and unforeseen investments you’ll need to make throughout the year.

When you have too many inquiries of people wanting to come in for treatment, you have two options:

  1. Raise your clinic’s prices
  2. Hire some more people

Raising your prices for current and future clients will help you for several reasons:

  • Some current clients will drop off when prices go up, opening up space for new clients
  • You’ll take more money home from your business
  • You can do more with your PT clinic, like hiring new people!

Hiring someone new to work in your business helps it to grow!

  • If you hire a front desk person, they can manage the influx of inquiries, create a cancellation list, and when current clients cancel last minute, you can have them book someone on the waitlist!
  • If you hire another therapist, you increase your capacity for new clients and can serve more people in your community while simultaneously growing your business.

Creating a way to send leads elsewhere should always be a last resort! If you need time to think about how to move forward, create a voicemail or text message that offers a waitlist or referral to other local PTs. But don’t have it anywhere on your website where people searching for your services can find it.

Black Friday 2021 | Marketing Strategies for PT Practice Owners

Black Friday 2021 | Marketing Strategies for PT Practice Owners

Black Friday is one of the best selling opportunities of the year for business owners, PT practice owners included! It’s a great way to make some extra money at the end of the year for your PT business.

People are actively seeking out the things they’ve wanted to buy, and getting excited about spending money on those things since they know they’ll get a discount!

This is a fantastic opportunity to sell PT packages, or anything else you offer, and get some extra money in your pocket for the end of the year. The most successful offer our clients have sold in the past are packages at a discounted price, which your patients get because they’re handing over the money in advance!

The first thing you need to do is come up with your offers. You can market several different offers at different levels, so people have a few to choose from. Once you have your offers, you should start marketing them on every channel you have so that as many people as possible will see them.

The sooner you start marketing, the more you’ll sell! The best way to do this is initially through an email campaign the first or second week of November, that lasts a week or longer.

In addition to an email campaign, have all of your employees offer these Black Friday deals to patients in person, and all of your social media advertisements focused on it as well. The goal is to get it in front of as many people as possible.

Offer your clients a deal that they can’t pass up to invest in their health, and watch your revenue soar up for the end of the year.

BREAKING NEWS: Google Just Changed Local SEO Rankings Forever

BREAKING NEWS: Google Just Changed Local SEO Rankings Forever

Have you noticed a lag in your website’s traffic over the last month or so? Has your Google search ranking plummeted seemingly out of nowhere?

There’s a reason for that: Google just rolled out the biggest update to organic ranking that they’ve done in over a decade! The update was rolled out over nine days, causing some people to see problems at different times. And, in typical Google fashion, they gave no warnings about it, and we are noticing the changes now.

The update was targeted at geographical locations of businesses, and makes location matter significantly more in rankings. Some of our clients in big cities saw a harder hit to their rankings and a resulting drop in traffic because Google is allowing less competition per area.

Keywords affected the most were those that weren’t related to location. An example of an affected set of keywords is “physical therapy”, and a less impacted set of keywords would be “physical therapy near me”

Now, you might be wondering, why would Google make such a big change? It’s simple, it’s all about the money. If it’s harder to rank organically, it forces some companies to pay for Google ads so that they can appear on the first page or within the first three results.

The same thing happened with Facebook a few years back. Business listings on Facebook used to get hundreds or even thousands of engagements initially. Once Facebook realized they could charge for ads, engagements on businesses dropped to only 10-15, unless you spent money on their advertising feature.

While it might be tempting to purchase Google ads to some people who aren’t as well versed in Google SEO, they’re forgetting that only 15% of people click on the Google ads in searches. That leaves 85% of the population out of the market on Google searches.

That’s why we’re encouraging our clients not to bite, not to purchase Google ads, and use this as an opportunity to tap into the 85% of people with organic SEO. Our team is hard at work researching the changes that Google made and ensuring that our SEO program clients have the best chance at ranking high in their local areas.

After speaking with several people about the changes, it’s clear that our clients were already largely unaffected by the Google update when compared to other businesses. If you’re struggling with getting your PT business to rank, reach out to us at https://ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy today and see how we can help improve your SEO drastically.

The 10-80-10 Rule | Successful Business Leadership for PT Practice Owners

The 10-80-10 Rule | Successful Business Leadership for PT Practice Owners

When it comes to your private practice or other PT business, it’s important to remember the 10-80-10 rule.

10% of your goals as a business owner are handled by you, 80% is handled by your team or employees, and the last 10% is going over everything before it’s finished.

The first 10% is the direction you want to go, the objectives, and what you want accomplished, which you can give as the leader. The 80% is the execution of the accomplishments, carried out by your team. The final 10% is you adjusting a few things here and there, and any finishing touches needed to bring it to completion and success.

But it isn’t always that simple...some of us may find that it’s more like 2-96-2, or that we aren’t giving enough guidance and leadership to our team members when it comes to meeting deadlines and achieving goals.

In this week’s episode, I dive into how important it is to give your team 20% of your expertise, guidance, and checkpoints throughout the planning and execution process of your business’ goals.

Setting your business up for success means creating milestones together, explaining anything unclear about your expectations, and checking in throughout the process.

When deadlines aren’t hit, you question why, and dig deeper to get the real answers, not just surface-level excuses. That way you’re prepared when it comes to planning new goals, and you can work toward achieving them together in a meaningful way.

If you’re looking to take more off of your plate as a PT practice owner, especially in terms of your website and your online marketing, SEO, and Google ranking, check out our website https://ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy and see how we can help you!

How To Take Meaningful Brain Breaks as a PT Entrepreneur

How To Take Meaningful Brain Breaks as a PT Entrepreneur

Do you ever feel like you need a break, but you don’t want to lose your momentum?

So you push yourself to the point of exhaustion, and realize that the quality of your work isn’t worth the work you’re putting in…

As entrepreneurs, it’s easy to get stuck in this trap. We don’t want to waste our time on things that won’t advance our business forward in some way. But we also recognize that if we don’t have a break from our business that it will eventually suffer, and so will we!

In this week’s episode of Patients on Demand, I discuss the importance of spending 80% of your time on your main business, whether it’s your PT practice or other PT business, and 10% of your time on a side hustle.

Now I know what you’re thinking... Why would I spend my free time working? Why not put it into the main business?

There are many benefits to having side ventures that we can work on when we need a break:

  • Diversity--if your main business suffers, you have options
  • Challenges your brain to think in different ways and bring back fresh ideas to your main business
  • Allows you to stay productive and keep momentum going
  • Extra play money that can be reinvested into your main business, your life, your family, etc.

If you allow yourself to find a productive way to take a break, you can find balance in your busy entrepreneurial lifestyle and be able to show up for the full 80% for your main business.

Don’t FIX What Ain’t BROKE | How to Make Decisions About Upgrading Your PT Website

Don’t FIX What Ain’t BROKE | How to Make Decisions About Upgrading Your PT Website

As physical therapists, we’re constantly upgrading our knowledge about the latest treatments, getting the latest and greatest new equipment, obtaining new certifications, etc. to be the best clinicians we can be.

It makes sense that we tend to have this attitude towards our online presence!

However, sometimes it doesn’t make sense to get every new upgrade, switch to the newest platform, or add every new widget that comes out to improve our PT clinic websites.

If your website is working for you and meeting the needs that you have it working for, why bother changing it?

This week, a client of ours posed a question about upgrading one of his PT business’ websites. We came to the conclusion that because it was doing everything he needed it to do, and he was happy with its success, that it isn’t necessary to upgrade it.

Sometimes upgrading your website can have negative effects for SEO or Google ranking.

The most important thing to remember when it comes to your PT website is that if it works great, it might not need to be fixed. If there’s something that can be improved on or isn’t working, that’s when you can make those changes.

Is My Website Marketing Really Working? | SEO Q&A Part 3

Is My Website Marketing Really Working? | SEO Q&A Part 3

PT practice owners, myself included, often ask these questions: How many leads should my website be generating? What should my expectations be? How do I know if I’m doing good or bad?

Whether you’re just starting out with website marketing or you’re an experienced business owner, this week’s episode will explain some of the basic metrics you should look for when it comes to the success of your PT website.

The first thing you should be looking at is the number of visitors to your PT website. The best tool to use is Google Analytics, since the results on sites like Weebly and Wix can be unreliable. And out of those visitors, how many of them are from your local area!

Once you have your number of local visitors, or people who are actually potential patients for your clinic and not people from out of state or too far away, you can determine how many of them made inquiries on the website (i.e. filled out forms, downloaded freebies, or even called your clinic directly).

You should be looking for at least 2% of visitors to make those inquiries on your website at the bare minimum. Our clients are typically at a minimum of 8-10%, and more established clinics are even higher! If you can’t get at least the 2%, you might need to make some changes to your website!

Only once those inquiries are solid should you be scaling and making the decision to pay for SEO and ads. Otherwise you’ll be spending money without the proof that it will improve your online presence and actually return a profit!

Google LOVES Content | How To Get Your PT Practice To Rank Higher Part 2/3

Google LOVES Content | How To Get Your PT Practice To Rank Higher Part 2/3

On last week’s episode of Patients on Demand, we went over the importance of high ranking for PT practice owners on Google searches. We also went over some ways to improve your ranking, such as making sure all of your clinic’s information is up to date on your website, as well as your Google My Business profile.

This week, I continue the discussion on the importance of content on your website to improve your PT website’s SEO organically. Since you only have control over about 30% of how you rank on search, it’s important to do everything you can!

Did you know that pages with the most written content are the most successful at ranking the highest? Blogs are a great way to increase your content, and you can repurpose and recycle them to increase your online presence.

Blog content results in more traffic to your website, more authority, and more people liking what you’re doing...all of which reflects positively to Google!

In a previous episode, I give you the 4 types of blogs you’ll ever need to write if coming up with ideas for content is difficult for you as a busy physical therapist. You can check it out HERE.

PT Website Secrets BTS | Digital Marketing Essentials for PT Practice Owners

This week, Patients on Demand goes behind the scenes with one of our website clients during our weekly check in. We go over how their site is doing, how their marketing is working for them, and my recommendations based on their data.

I talk about some amazing strategies that lesser known clinics can use when they’re just starting out to become an online celebrity for their local area, but don’t be intimidated--I talk about some ways that more established clinics can improve their marketing tactics as well.

In this week’s check in, where I typically answer client questions and help them improve their experience with our website systems, I walked them through how to improve their current Google ad campaigns and other marketing set up. I gave specific suggestions based on what they were already doing.

One of the many examples I made a suggestion for was creating separate leadpages connected to their current Google ads, so that it’s easier to understand where their leads are coming from, and which marketing tactics are most effective.

Looking for a little help growing your business organically through SEO? Our Patients on Demand System includes a three pack organic attack to get your PT business to the top of the page of Google search, maps, and more. Schedule a call with us to see if your clinic would be a good fit at  https://www.ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy.

*~* KEY TAKEAWAYS

Using multiple strategies to generate website traffic is important to PT clinics that want to become online celebrities in their local area.

If you aren’t using the right strategies to advertise your clinic, it’s easy to become a five-star resort in the middle of the desert. It’s important to target the right audiences so that people can find you easily!

Using Your PT Clinic’s Brand as an SEO Secret Weapon

Using Your PT Clinic’s Brand as an SEO Secret Weapon

After a lovely vacation with my family to Hilton Head Island, I came across some of the best branding for SEO purposes in a local coffee shop after asking my daughter to pick the place she wanted to go for breakfast.

The business she chose called itself “Coffee Shop Near Me”, which if you know anything about Google search rankings, is genius. Using what people typically type into the search engine in your business name gives you a leg up when trying to generate traffic for your business.

In this week’s episode, I talk about using your PT clinic’s brand itself to improve its SEO organically. The best way to do that is to use your location name in the name of your clinic, like Charlotte Physical Therapy if you’re located in Charlotte, as long as the web domain is available. You can also improve it by including “Physical Therapy” in the name, because it's important that people know what you do.

For people with established businesses, rebranding can sometimes have negative effects on your SEO, but adding another domain with your location can improve it. PT clinics who have already developed an online presence should be very cautious when making changes that can impact SEO.

Content Creation Hacks for PT Entrepreneurs | How To Save Time, Be Productive, & Build Authority

Content Creation Hacks for PT Entrepreneurs | How To Save Time, Be Productive, & Build Authority

Content Creation Hacks for PT Entrepreneurs | How To Save Time, Be Productive, & Build Authority

In this week’s episode I talk about the easiest way to create content for your clinic online consistently.  Updated content on your PT website and elsewhere online helps you rank higher on search engines, helps your clinic appear more like a trusted authority, and makes it easier for your potential customers to find you.

So many PT practice owners struggle immensely with getting content out there. This might be partially due to a common misconception that content creation is an extensive and time-consuming process. But it doesn’t have to be something earth-shattering.

Here’s my process for getting started with content creation:

  1. Choose your content topic--what questions do you get most often?
  2. Decide on starter content--i.e. a blog, a podcast, etc.
  3. Distribute content generated on platforms most likely to reach your target audience

I’m able to put in 15-20 minutes a week recording a podcast audio and video, and that podcast becomes all the content I put out in that week. My marketing assistant uses quotes from the transcription of the podcast to create social media posts, emails, and other materials each week, but you can easily do it yourself.

If having your clinic become an online celebrity is something you’re interested in, you can fill out an application to see if our System will work for you at https://www.ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy.

*~* KEY TAKEAWAYS

Frequent content creation and posting increases your online presence and helps your clinic to rank higher on search engines and increases your authority in the health sphere.

Content creation doesn’t need to be difficult or time-consuming. You just need to start with one blog or podcast and go from there.

How to Get Your PT Clinic on the Map

How to Get Your PT Clinic on the Map

How to Get Your PT Clinic on the Map

There are plenty of PT practices out there that people have no idea about because they’re simply not contributing to an online presence. These practices are five-star oases in the middle of the desert where they’re at, and all they need is some marketing to get patients in the door.

When you’re trying to market your PT practice and get more leads into your clinic, there are typically three ways to go about this:

  1. Hustle-style marketing
  2. Google and social media ads
  3. Ranking higher on search engine

There are advantages and disadvantages to all three options. Whether you spend the time with hustle-style marketing, you save money. When you spend the money to run ads or rank higher on the search engine, you save time. There is always a cost to get the business you need to your PT clinic.

When I talk about hustle-style marketing, I’m talking about going out and networking in the community, doing community events, going and meeting with people, whether it's doctors, gyms, other professionals, etc., going to networking groups, maybe having a booth at the farmer's market. We are talking about getting your name out there and going and making as many connections as possible. This type of marketing is exhausting and takes a lot of time and effort to be successful.

When it comes to Google or social media ads, it will cost you money. And if you don’t spend enough, you’re just wasting the money you do spend because it’s not effective enough. It will save you the time and effort that you would spend hustling, but it might not be as successful if you aren’t doing it properly.

And finally, when I talk about ranking higher on search engines like Google, there is the monetary cost as well. It’s better than running ads since most people scroll past the ads on Google search to get to the “real” results. But it doesn’t come cheap.

Are you looking for a way to make your PT clinic’s website do the marketing work for you? The Patients on Demand System, also known as our three pack organic attack, can get your PT website pumping out leads without the time and effort that many PT practice owners are all-too-familiar with. See if you’re eligible for our System by applying for a phone call with us here: https://www.ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy

How To Create Time Freedom as a PT Entrepreneur

How To Create Time Freedom as a PT Entrepreneur

How to Create Time Freedom as a PT Entrepreneur

In this episode of Patients On-Demand, we will talk about how to get time freedom while running your own private practice. If you’re anything like me, then you went into private practice with the belief and excitement that you’d have more free time due to owning your schedule. Well, entrepreneurial life can set you up for a rude awakening if you let it. I instead found myself more strapped for time than I’d ever been before!

Through organized planning and taking inventory of my personal and professional priorities, I’ve been able to create a business that works for me and allows me to spend my time how I see fit.

I want the same for you. The mantra I’ve adopted is that process precedes freedom. It’s a process to align your schedule to fit your priorities- professional, personal, familial, etc. It’s taken a lot of trial and error, but I’ve been able to organize my schedule to get more done, and I don’t miss out on the most important moments in life.

If you’re in the process of building a business and looking for time freedom, then go ahead and tune in to this episode. I’m excited to help you along your journey in finding space for the things that matter most to you.

Rethink the Lead Magnet in 2021

Rethink the Lead Magnet in 2021

I was inspired by a client question during our weekly office hours to talk about lead magnets or freebies in exchange for contact information, and specifically, what the best type of lead magnet is for your PT website.

Trends for lead magnets change over time, around 3-5 years ago FAQ booklets were very popular for cold leads, or people not so ready to come in for PT just yet, and would commonly lead them to download more specific lead magnets and eventually come into the clinic.

More recently, videos have been very popular as lead magnets. But the most effective lead magnets are more specific to your niche, and get more people to apply no matter what their problem is.

This type of lead magnet would be something that tells you why all the past treatments and attempts at solving your pain problem have failed. And it would only be missing what would really work, and that’s our hook.

This powerful technique makes the comparison of all the alternatives for your potential patient, and really brings in the folks looking for a real way to change their health.

If you are looking for a team to help you transform your website into an Online Sales Rep that works for you to get patients in your niche to come into your clinic, see if our system will work for you and apply at https://ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy

Do You Really Own Your PT Business? Or Does It Own You?

Do You Really Own Your PT Business? Or Does It Own You?

How do you know if you really own your PT business?

In this week’s episode of Patients on Demand, I discuss one of our clients and how he took back ownership over his incredibly successful PT practice.

By ownership, I mean that he decided to take back control of how he got patients coming into his practice. Even with a successful PT business, having no control over your referral sources means that you aren’t in control of your continued success.

Before implementing our new Patients on Demand System, most of his leads came from what he called “guerilla marketing”, or by the typical hustling-style marketing that most PTs use; through word of mouth, other healthcare practitioners, and not much through his website.

After only two weeks with our new system, his leads from his website went from 3-5 to 180 leads (if you don’t believe me, I have the screenshots to prove it!). This allowed him to take control of his referral sources, as well as his PT business’ continued success.

Do you even know the percentages of where your leads come from and what percentage of those leads then turn into new patients? Are they completing your plan of care? How much is a lead from each type of area? How much is it worth?

These are things you need to figure out that you can figure out really do you own your business and what decisions do you need to make so that you have your own control dial, just like our client does.

If you feel like you want to take back control of your PT practice like our client has, you can apply for a call on our website at https://www.ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy to see if our Patients on Demand System is right for your business.

*~* KEY TAKEAWAYS

The best time to grow your PT business and push the limits of your success is when you’re doing really well.

Whoever owns your referral sources, whether word of mouth, paid ads, or website marketing, owns your business. You should be the one who owns it, and you can do that with your website.

How to Hire Like a Pro as a PT CEO

How to Hire Like a Pro as a PT CEO

Hiring new employees is a complex process. As CEOs in the PT world, we aren't exactly HR specialists. In this week’s episode of Patients on Demand, I outline some ways that can make this process a little easier.

In the current economic climate, it’s even more difficult to hire because everyone is in need of more people. As PT business owners we aren’t exempt from this, so here are some tips to make it a little simpler.

When creating a new job position, create a title that stands out from the rest. For example, my company just created a listing with “WordPress Enthusiast Website Editor and Website Builder”, and I instantly attracted hundreds of applicants. With more applicants, the more selective you can be.

When it comes to the description of the job posting, keep it as simple as possible! All that people really want to know what they’ll be doing on a daily basis.

During the interview process, don’t come up with massive lists of questions, but narrow your list to really figure out if the person will be a good fit for the culture of the work environment, and if they’re a person you really see as being a great asset to the company.

Don’t be afraid to call out contradictions during interviews either! Make sure to really dig deep and get a good understanding of the person’s background and make sure their answers are adding up.

And finally, make sure to customize the interview questions and really make sure you’re able to find out if the candidate is a yes or a no for the position.

If you take that advice right now in this market, in the economy, with the amount of jobs open versus the amount of people to fill them, then you're going to be in good shape.

If you’re looking to fill a new therapist’s schedule or open a second clinic location, schedule a call with us today on our website to see if you qualify to work with us: https://www.ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy

*~* KEY TAKEAWAYS

Make sure you have an awesome job title, a simplistic job description, interview questions that dig a little deeper and customize based on your candidate, you’ll be in good shape in the hiring process.

4 Numbers of Website Analytics You NEED to Know

4 Numbers of Website Analytics You NEED to Know

4 Numbers of Website Analytics You NEED to Know

This week’s episode is a throwback to a live I did back in 2019 on website analytics.

Looking at analytics can be scary and overwhelming because there is a lot of information available!

It’s important to narrow down the numbers you look at on a monthly basis to four key analytics to better inform you of the success of your PT business’ online employee.

These numbers will answer four different questions:

  1. Are we getting unique visitors to the website?
  2. How many forms are being filled out each month?
  3. How many freebie downloads are you getting each month?
  4. How many phone calls do you get?

The answers to these questions can be found by looking at whichever platform you use for your website analytics, as well as ensuring that your administrative staff keep track of the leads that come through other avenues, such as phone calls.

If your PT business’ website isn’t getting you the numbers you need to be successful, it might be time to make some changes to ensure that your online employee is doing its job and getting you leads.

If you’re looking to fill a new therapist’s schedule or open a second clinic location, schedule a call with us today on our website to see if you qualify to work with us: https://www.ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy

*~* KEY TAKEAWAYS

If you’re not doing these analytics, you’re flying blind and you’re wasting an asset that can be out there fighting for you 24/7 online.

CEOs Need Brain Breaks Too!

CEOs Need Brain Breaks Too!

CEOs Need Brain Breaks Too!

As you grow in your PT business, it becomes more and more complicated, more people are hired, more decisions have to be made, and the decisions grow in size and lessen in the time they need to be made. All of these factors mean that it is essential to have times when your brain can just shut down and rest and refresh and not be in business mode all the time.

When you give yourself the time to breathe, to not be in PT business mode, when you do return to work you will be ready and have some clarification of thought, which in turn will make you a better business owner.

If you don’t get the time to recharge, you will miss out on the opportunity to see things from a different perspective, or another approach to a challenge you’ve been faced with. You’ll tend to get stuck, repeat the same methods, and feel frustrated and exhausted, which will not result in anything positive, for your business or your personal life.

Your brain break doesn’t have to be a week long vacation, it can be as simple as a daily walk to get your blood flowing and your brain refreshed. It can be a breathing exercise or a daily meditation to center yourself and get a break from running your business. It can be shutting off your work mode at exactly the same time each day and allowing yourself to have that personal time. It’s really up to you!

If you feel like you can’t take a step back and let your business run on its own, it might be time to look at the processes you have in place, and think about ways to make it easier for you to do that.

If you’re looking to fill a new therapist’s schedule or open a second clinic location, schedule a call with us today on our website to see if you qualify to work with us: https://www.ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy

*~* KEY TAKEAWAYS

Taking a break from your business is essential to the growth of your PT business.

If stepping away from your role as CEO even for a few hours feels too stressful, it might be time to make some changes in your PT business so that it feels safer to do so.

The Magic of Masterminds for Business Growth

The Magic of Masterminds for Business Growth

It’s tempting to think that you can get places on your own with your PT business, especially because this is why you were able to start a business in the first place. Being independent and willing to strike out on your own is how you got started.

But there is a whole new level of growth that requires more than just personal willpower. And this can take years and years to figure out on your own, or can be condensed into a smaller amount of time by involving yourself with people who’ve gone before you.

Masterminds can provide PT practice owners with valuable information to grow their business, which is why I started attending them within a year of opening my first business. Masterminds have been pivotal and absolutely necessary for my growth.

In order to get the most benefit from Masterminds, it is critical that you recognize what specific things you need to continue to grow, and what attending an event will provide for you. Without this, a Mastermind is an onslaught of knowledge that may overwhelm you.

If you are ready to implement Masterminds as a learning process as a PT practice owner, be sure to go in with a purpose, with the questions you want answered, and pinpoint your time to get the most out of it.

As a PT business owner, learning from other powerhouse influences has led to major pivots and growth for my business that I wouldn’t have accomplished alone. Sometimes the best thing for your PT business is some perspective from the outside.

I challenge you to really think outside the box and make sure you’re really getting the right mentorship for your PT business. And if there’s something that you feel you could learn that would change the trajectory of your practice, I encourage you to go and learn it!

If you’re looking to fill a new therapist’s schedule or open a second clinic location, schedule a call with us today on our website to see if you qualify to work with us: https://www.ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy

*~* KEY TAKEAWAYS

As a PT business owner, the right implementation of knowledge from Masterminds has had a significant impact on my growth both personally and professionally.

As with any endeavor you embark on to grow your business, it should be done intentionally and align with your long term goals.

How To Know Which Leads Are Worth Your Time (And Those That Aren’t)

How To Know Which Leads Are Worth Your Time (And Those That Aren’t)

How To Know Which Leads Are Worth Your Time (And Those That Aren’t)

How do you know if leads that come into your physical therapy business are worth your time?

If you look at a batch of ten leads that come from your website, typically only two of them are hot and will convert immediately, six of them will be somewhere in the middle, and the last two will never become patients.

Focusing your energy on figuring out who those six in the middle are and nurturing them will offer you the best results, because your time will be focused on potential patients rather than the others who don’t need the nurture, or will never come in no matter what you do.

To figure out the six leads in the middle who aren’t ready, look for the common characteristics of those leads that will never convert. It can be that they’re in a certain age range, complaint, an insurance company, or a combination of multiple factors. Knowing who to focus your energy on will be game changing for your PT business.

Using this math will help you to ease some of your frustrations and understand behavior, as well as help you to win more with your PT business.

If you’re looking to fill a new therapist’s schedule or open a second clinic location, schedule a call with us today on our website to see if you qualify to work with us: https://www.ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy

There is a way to optimize the leads that you get for your PT business once you figure out who is worth your time to nurture and who isn’t.

Charge Enough to Serve | Why You Shouldn’t Fear Charging What Your PT Services Are Worth

Charge Enough to Serve | Why You Shouldn’t Fear Charging What Your PT Services Are Worth

How can you charge enough for services so your PT business can grow?

In this week’s video I explain the importance of charging enough for your PT services to your patients not only so that you can break even, but so you can avoid getting stuck and continue to grow your clinic. Like any business venture, it should be worth the investment.

It’s hard to price things out when you’re just getting started as a new PT business, because a lot of us start out wanting to serve a purpose and help people. But if you want to help people in the long run, you have to keep your business afloat. And you have to make a profit in order to pay for marketing systems that will help you to grow.

This is why it’s crucial to think of your long term goals for your clinic when you price out your services. Do you see yourself remaining as the main practitioner, or do you want to expand and add multiple clinicians? The answers to these questions will help you determine what you need to do to grow your business and keep serving the people you want to help, and to help even more than when you first start out.

Are you looking to fill a new therapist’s schedule? Are you trying to open a new location but need more new patients? Schedule a call with us today from our website to learn how: https://www.ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy

You need to charge enough for your PT services in order to grow your business and help more people.

If you want a real business, you’re going to need to spend money to make money.

Giving Your Patients the Disney Experience

Giving Your Patients the Disney Experience

When you’re planning a Disney vacation for your family, there are a lot of things you need to consider in the planning. Where you’ll be staying, how you’ll get around to the parks, where to eat, things that are typically necessary for any vacation.

But when it comes to booking with Disney, they have a tendency to remove as many of these obstacles in the planning process for you. They offer a bus system to chauffeur you around from the minute you land at the airport until you leave to go home. They have doggy day care for your pet if you don’t want to leave them at home. They have special menus for dietary restrictions at all of their restaurants.

Disney makes planning a vacation as guest friendly as they possibly can. On top of that, they send you exciting packages with everything you need for your stay to get you pumped for vacation weeks before you leave.

PT practice owners can easily take a page out of Disney’s book. Think of the ways you can improve your patient experience to make it more magical for them. Think of some ways you can remove obstacles for them from the moment they find your clinic online to when they come in for their appointment.

The less obstacles there are to becoming a patient, the more likely you are to get more patients.

If you’re looking to add 10-15 patients to your clinic from your website a month, send us an email from our website:https://www.ptwebsitesecrets.com/home

*~* KEY TAKEAWAYS

Your PT business should give your patients the easiest access to get the care they need.

It’s simple to give your patients a memorable experience that will increase your success as a PT practice owner.

What to Do When You Hit a Roadblock

What to Do When You Hit a Roadblock

What to Do When You Hit a Roadblock

When we face challenges with our clinics, we look to go the fastest route to solve our problem.

We instinctively look for the quickest way to get from Point A to Point B, or the shortest path between getting what you want for your PT business, and what you need to do to get it there.

If you are only looking at the fastest route to where you want to go with your PT business, this might land you at a roadblock. In order to get past it, you need to reevaluate your perspective and your tactics, or you may continue to end up with the same results.

Sometimes, in order to get from point A to B, you need to pivot, take some additional steps, and only then can you overcome the obstacles in your way of achieving your business goals.

What roadblocks are you trying to get around right now?

If you’re looking to add 10-15 patients to your clinic from your website a month, send us an email from our website: https://www.ptwebsitesecrets.com/home

Lessons from the Lemonade Stand

Lessons from the Lemonade Stand

Lessons from the Lemonade Stand

It’s easy to assume that the reason you aren’t getting patients in your PT business is because they don’t want to spend money on the services. But the reality is that there are many reasons why this could be happening.

Are you grabbing people’s attention with your website? If people aren’t aware that you’re selling, how do you expect them to buy it?

In today’s throwback podcast, I sat with my daughter and recounted what we both learned about business from her neighborhood lemonade stand.

If you feel stuck with your PT business and need help with finding the answers you need, sign up for a call on our website: www.ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy

Don’t always assume that your business isn’t generating the revenue you need because people are unwilling to spend money.

Dealing with Dissonance

Dealing with Dissonance

Dealing with Dissonance

What do you do when you feel uncomfortable with something in your business?

If I find myself avoiding a task that I’ve had on my plate for a long time, I ask myself, “Why is this causing me so much discomfort?” “Why is this taking me so long to get done?”

It’s easy to get frustrated with yourself during this process, and to think that you’re the problem. But if you ask yourself the right questions, you can become unstuck a lot quicker. Getting to the root of the issue and why you’re feeling this way will help you move through this discomfort much faster.

In today’s podcast I talked with a client who was feeling stuck with her PT business’ website and having trouble working on it. We discussed the “why” those feelings were coming up and how to move forward.

If you feel stuck with your PT business and need help with finding the answers you need, sign up for a call on our website: www.ptwebsitesecrets.com/strategy

Dig deep when you ask yourself why you’re feeling stuck in your business.

Look at your future goals for your business and make sure that your actions now align with what you want in the long run.

If your long term goals are joy and fulfillment, look at what provides you with those feelings, and move in that direction.

Is It Time to Rebrand Your Business?

Is It Time to Rebrand Your Business?

Is It Time to Rebrand Your Business?

A lot of people consider rebranding when they feel like their business has taken a bit of a turn.

That's causing you to think that your branding is the issue, but if we’re being honest, 9 times out of 10, the branding isn't the reason you're having trouble bringing new clients into the clinic.

Rebranding is not simply just changing your colors, changing your logo, and changing how your business is presented from a marketing material standpoint. It can have far reaching impacts way beyond just the visual connotation that you think of when it comes to branding.

If you’re struggling with getting your clinic to where it needs to be, it might not be remedied with a simple change to your colors and logo. In this week’s episode, I will explain the importance of digging deeper, and to challenge yourself to get to the root of your business’ issue.

*~* KEY TAKEAWAYS

Rebranding has more implications than surface level changes.

Dig deeper into the challenges your business is facing, and look for alternative ways you can solve them.

Reevaluate who you are trying to reach, and how you are communicating to them.

Marketing Moves You're Doing Out of Order

Marketing Moves You're Doing Out of Order

Marketing Moves You're Doing Out of Order

There are many talented marketers out there that are great at selling CRMs and other business enhancing softwares. And these softwares can be a great resource for your business, as long as you implement them at the right time.

But when you don't have the business yet, that's going to use these tools, why are we spending money on them prematurely?

Implementing these softwares at the wrong stage can be a waste of time and money. It’s important to get your business to the point where you can use them to your advantage to grow your business, instead of draining your resources before you’re ready.

Listen today as I explain how to focus your energy, time and money on the right steps to get your business where it needs to be.

*~* KEY TAKEAWAYS

Make time to get back to yourself. Take a walk in nature and enjoy the beauty around you! This is how you can put your best foot forward for your business.

Focus your energy on the parts of your business that need the most work. The areas of your business that you’ve put the most attention into are probably not why you aren’t getting the success you want.

Disney Teaches Quarterly Planning

Disney Teaches Quarterly Planning

Disney Teaches Quarterly Planning

I’ve known for a year that my kids get out of school earlier in May than usual and I’ve earmarked the week before Memorial weekend as a great time to do something fun like go to Disney World.

However, as most of you know, Disney is not something you’re able to do on a whim, unless you live next door to Orlando. It’s an entire process from finding a place to stay, to transportation, what rides you’ll do when, and even getting your dining reservations 60 days at 6 AM. (Thanks to my brother for waking up and doing that one.)

The more we planned our Disney trip, the more I realized the similarities between our vacation and the quarterly planning that goes on in my businesses.

There are 6 key areas to grade a physical therapy business on each quarter: lead generation, nurturing, conversions, PT services, plan of care completion, and resell & upsell.

Listen today as I explain how to grade each part of your business every quarter and how that will change your quarterly plans.

*~* KEY TAKEAWAYS

Don’t make the mistake of planning for your life and not for your business!

There are six areas to look at, but focus most of your attention to the areas you and your team rate the lowest. If you work on the areas you’ve done well in, you’re ignoring possibilities for improvement!
