How Authentic Are You?
Perspective Taking
Perspective taking is our capacity to look beyond a single action or circumstance and see how it fits into a greater whole. Our ability to see ourselves and what happens to us, or around us will determine our level of happiness, and how we can cope with both positive and negative things in our world. Perspective taking is choosing what to focus on. You can dwell on what you don’t have or concentrate on what you do. Join me this week as I discuss perspective taking during our challenging times of a Global Pandemic.
The Power of Positivity
Positivity is a character trait that we can all work on improving. By adopting a positive attitude and starting each day thinking about the possibilities as well as the probabilities, we will not only survive but also thrive! Can you always see the glass half full? What about when there are only a few drops of water in the glass? Can you see them? Would you persist until you find them?
Forgiveness, what we do for ourselves!
Forgiveness can be the greatest gift that you can give yourself. Letting go of bitterness in your heart frees up room for new possibilities. Forgiving is not forgetting or condoning, but learning and transforming negative energy into positivity to carry on down your own path. By forgiving and moving on we deny the offender any more opportunity to hurt us. It creates a shift of power!
Letting Things Go
How are you affected by the emotions, words and actions of those around you? Why do we let people 'get under our skin' and change our emotions and moods? In this episode Wendy discusses when to join the moods of others and when to make a choice to let things go. Learn how to become a duck and let things slide off your back like water on a duck's back.
Climbing the Staircase of Change!
Take the stairs! Navigating change can be like climbing a staircase to a new reality. Change might feel like you are on a wobbly ladder where you have to climb alone, or like a wide staircase where you climb with others that support and encourage you. There may be steps of equal sizes or there may be some that are so tall you will need help. When you choose to climb a staircase and do the work of change, you will be able to manage the new reality step by step and be better prepared for what waits for you at the top. Listen to this analogy of managing change like climbing a staircase today!
Taking the Time to Pause
Speaking with purpose and acting with Intention requires taking the time to pause. How can we slow down our lives enough to be able to prioritize the commitments that maintain our health and help us grow? Do you have actions in your life that are just filling time and making you feel busy? Take this time to listen as Wendy talks about stepping off the racetrack of life to live a happier more fulfilled life!
Speaking with Purpose and Acting with Intention
To live a life of integrity that will one day be our legacy we need to speak with purpose and act with intention. Speaking with purpose and acting with intention will require a level of consciousness and an ability to respond and not merely react, to the people and events that happen around us.
What will your legacy be?
Are you living a life today that you want to be your legacy tomorrow? Join Wendy as she shares her definition of legacy and dive a little deeper in your own mind of the legacy you want to leave.
Changes in our Thinking
Our thinking changes in response to events and growth or enlightenment. We change what we value and what we are willing to spend our time and energy on. Join Wendy as she explores moving our thinking from a feeling of resistance to a place where we can embrace change and look for the hidden benefits and blessings within. Could you move from a thinking of probability to a thinking of possibility?
Changing our Actions
How do you feel about making changes to your routines or learning a new skill? What energy and time are you willing to invest? How important of a factor is your own motivation and comfort with risk taking? Listen as Wendy discusses how we can make those changes positive or negative.
How do changes to our physical environment affect us?
In this episode of Here's a Thought, Wendy discusses how changes to our physical environments can be both positive and negative and whether having input into change makes it easier to handle? Listen to this author open up the topic of change further and get you thinking.
