Aaron Tate Wimberley is the Global Managing Director of Corporate and Investment Banking for Madison Street Capital. Tate is passionate about working with people, and organizations and discovering their “why” so he can better understand how to provide the appropriate resources to help. He finds that when businesses focus on using the right "process" that the end product or service can be far more supreme. He is well versed in the Environmental, Social, and Governance vertical and how corporations can leverage the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to outperform the competition and gain what Michael Porter defines as a "Competitive Advantage". Can Environmental & Sustainability Progress Only Occur in a Stable Nation?
Dave Johnson, a Stanford Law Professor, attorney and lecturer on society, politics, and the environment returns to ESJ to discuss a structural challenge to progress in environmental and sustainability: Obscene Corruption. The proof now surfacing of rampant corruption has rendered our political parties, our governmental institutions ( Articles 1, 2 and 3 ), unreliable and undemocratic. Systemic social issues are everywhere: a) racism in policing, education, employment and opportunity b) two-tiered legal systems, rich and poor c) dark money, foreign and domestic d) religion-infused, anti-choice, anti-female laws What little recourse still left to us necessarily includes activism, individual and collective 𝑵𝒐 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝑵𝒐 𝑩𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝑩𝒊𝒕 𝑯𝒆𝒍𝒑𝒔™ #Equality #Equity #Racism #SocialJustice #Activist #SociallyResponsible #Impact #Stanford #EnvironmentalSocialJustice

Charles Henry is the President of the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR), a non-profit organization that works with libraries, cultural institutions, and higher learning communities to improve research, teaching, and learning environments through the digitization and preservation of cultural heritage. He believes preserving cultural heritage connects us with humanity’s collective experience and knowledge and gives us a sense of identity. However, cultural memory loss can easily occur, and climate change poses a significant threat. In fact, it is believed that 98.8% of American archives are likely to encounter at least one climate risk factor by the year 2100. CLIR has been working for decades on the preservation and access to cultural heritage. Projects include the Digital Library of the Middle East, one of the world’s largest online archives of Middle Eastern and North African artifacts, and the HBCU Library Alliance Partnership, which fosters awareness of and access to collections held by Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Dr. Frank Luntz is an American political and communications professional who coined the term Climate Change is now discussing the need to re-think how we communicate to engage action on our climate initiatives and implement change. I had the unique opportunity to meet with Dr. Luntz in his home this week. He is an expert communicator who offers powerful insight into how we communicate our current climatic crisis. Of the many lexicons offered, the two that stuck with me were Stop using “Climate Change”, it’s Climate. It’s here. Stop calling it "Emissions", call it what it is, "Pollution". Dave Johnson, a Stanford Law Professor and attorney and lecturer on society, politics, and the environment shares his insight on how to make the world a better place by the way we design our social structures and industries and how to change our impact on the environment and how to create a less racist and more peaceful society. Dave has spoken in front of Congress, represented Apple and Cisco legally, and written numerous articles on how technological and legal design can affect the environment. He wants to use his years of experience and the practice of design thinking to change the way the world sees politics, race, and the earth itself. ESJ Welcomes Buzzbox Premium Cocktails!
Full disclosure, I love Buzzbox. These are adult juice boxes you can take anywhere, and they taste great! I have been a fan for years and have sampled every flavor. Rod Vandenbos created Buzzbox in California and he only uses top-shelf spirits, all natural, organic fruit juices and never uses any artificial fillers or preservatives. Ever. From an environmental and sustainability perspective, Rod focused on his company’s impact from the beginning. From locally sourced materials, flat, light weight packaging to fully recyclable boxes. Rod thought of everything.
