You can be this AND that - Mindfulness with Caylan

You can be this AND that - Mindfulness with Caylan

“I have to remind myself to be in the now because as a visionary you live for the future, the next thing.... but I am guaranteed right now, this second that I have and look around and find beauty and gratitude.”

Our friend Caylan keeps it REAL as a badass mom, essential oil expert, holistic health and mindset practitioner living in Corvallis, OR. She came on to share with us the importance of being in the now and allowing ourselves to experience our feelings. Through her funny and adventurous stories, we get to hear how she has always pursued being true to herself and how that has shaped her life. She reminds us to look at ourselves as a “we can be this AND that”, instead of letting one thing define who we are. So today we just chat about life and how being honest with ourselves and our emotions is an important part of living a healthy lifestyle.

And lastly, through all this life, we also chat about death as Caylan recently went to a death doula workshop. What is that?
Well listen in and learn! We hope you get to take away tips and pointers on how to practice all of this mindfulness in your own life.

Happy International Women's Day. In celebration, we decided to drop a BONUS Q&A episode since many of you have been saying you wanted to get to know us better. In this episode, we each brought super random questions to ask each other without each other knowing what they were. Some questions are funny, some are serious, and then some are just a little odd. Hope you enjoy this episode and Happy International Women's Day! True beauty is about who you are as a human being, your principles, your moral compass."- Ellen Degeneres “I don't want other people to decide who I am. I want to decide that for myself.” Emma Watson "I think the best role models for women are people who are fruitfully and confidently themselves, who bring light into the world." —Meryl Streep

What Food Means To Us with Nourished Beginnings

What Food Means To Us with Nourished Beginnings

“You can be strangers, you might not know someone, but when you sit down at table with them to eat, and drink, you know what to do and it's suddenly not weird anymore.”

Our friends, Holly and Gabbi, are the owners of the thriving meal prep business in Silverton, Oregon called Nourished Beginnings. Holly is a mom that describes her heaven as all of her loved ones gathering together around a long table of food and laughing with one another. She has some great tips for helping moms incorporate healthy food into their kids lives. Gabbi is a young nutritionist who has discovered her love for food through her health and allergy journey. Because of her severe allergies, she brings some good tips and advice for people on how not let it define you and any food situations. In this episode, both share their stories, where their love of food came from, and what food means for each of them. In this, they dive deep into what it takes to start your own business, what it’s like being a mom while running a business, balancing life, and they even include a few of their favorite meal prep tips!

Positive Work Environments, Green Circle Salons, and Hair Tips

“It doesn't feel like work because we’re doing what we love but also because we really enjoy everybody around us and so it's just like we’re hangin with our best gals all day long.” - Mallory

Our guest and friend, Mallory, is a hair stylist in Corvallis at a salon that focuses not only on their customers, but also on their employees. Because of this, Mallory shares how she has thrived at Honeycomb Salon because she has been able to grow as a hair stylist AND a woman. In this episode, she talks about the positive environment and supportive people she is surrounded by day-to-day and how that has made her look forward to going to work every day. Her points are relatable to whether you’re an employee, coworker, manager or owner and we think you will walk away from this episode feeling inspired to create your own thriving work environment. Plus, she gives us some really good hair tips at the end!
