By Kait Russell and Kade Bailey

In 2020, 52 percent of actors, 55 percent of dancers and 27 percent of musicians were out of work... What happened? The COVID-19 pandemic. We watched it all unfold, standing in Times Square at 3am after Broadway shuttered its doors and realizing we were all alone. The City that never sleeps was.... sleeping. March on Broadway Demands

  1. Scott Rudin to be removed from the Broadway League - If he is not removed from the Broadway League, we want restoration. We want Scott to publicly choose 20 BIPOC run theatres and donate a LARGE SUM of money to them.
  2. A full list of organizations that AEA is working with to help Black, Indigenous, and POC feel safer.
  3. A full report of how the 2020 Equity dues were spent and what percentage is being spent to help conversations around diversity.
  4. Achieve greater inclusion for trans, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming artists.
  5. We want visibility on how the national council votes for policies. We also want efforts to improve diversity within the council.
  6. We want to achieve greater inclusion for artists with visible and nonvisible differing abilities.

Ep. 4 - "Every Minute is an Audition" ZACH JAMES

It’s that time again our little ingenues! This week, Kait and Kade talk to the legendary cross-over artist Zach James about what it’s like working at the MET, being in a Broadway show (from the workshop all the way through closing) educating people on opera, his new visual album “Call Out” and of course, who he’d be on Drag Race’s Snatch Game (You’re welcome for asking the important questions). Grab a drink and cuddle up kids, it’s time for Episode 4 of We’re Still Here.

Ep. 3- "I am a Unicorn, I am a Goddess" BETHANY KAY

Ep. 3- "I am a Unicorn, I am a Goddess" BETHANY KAY

It's a wild ride this week as we talk with Bethany Kay about what it's like to be on HBO, Hulu AND Netflix. The streaming trifecta- I mean come on. Bethany currently lives in NYC and is an incredibly successful film, TV, voiceover artist and career coach. She takes us through a typical HBO audition ,what it was like to work with Mark Ruffalo and Derek Cianfrance (director of Blue Valentine and This Much I Know Is True) and also spills the tea on what it was like to be completely naked (and barking) on one of the most watched television show sets of all time. Bethany is a long-time industry professional who has a lot to say about where we're headed. Buckle up, buttercup - you're in for a good time.

Ep. 2 - "A Strong Moral Compass" KAREN OLIVO

Ep. 2 - "A Strong Moral Compass" KAREN OLIVO

This week we dive into the series with our first guest, Karen Olivo. In addition to being a Broadway veteran, Karen is an incredibly kind, humble and forward thinking individual and we are so excited to share her unique perspective with you. Join us as we talk to her about what it was like playing one of the most demanding roles on Broadway, being in a show when NYC shut down- and what she's been doing since. Tackling the taboo of "speaking out" in our industry and what it means to stand up for yourself, Karen offers some words of wisdom for young professionals in this time and encourages us to have a "strong moral compass". Pour yourself a drink, sit back, relax and enjoy this sparkling diamond...

Ep. 1 - The Only Two People in Times Square

Ep. 1 - The Only Two People in Times Square

In the latter half of 2020, 52 percent of actors, 55 percent of dancers and 27 percent of musicians were out of work, according to the National Endowment for the Arts. What happened? The COVID-19 pandemic. We watched it all unfold, standing in Times Square at 3am and realizing we were... all alone. The City that never sleeps was.... sleeping.

This is the first episode of "We're Still Here" a podcast by theatre people, for theatre people. We've designed this series to explore what it's like to be an artist in 2020. In an industry and profession that have been put on "pause" - What have we learned? Where are we going? How do we move forward?

We discuss all these questions and more with artists all around the world- from Broadway to community theatre, we've got ya covered. The goal is to connect the theatre industry during the COVID-19 Pandemic and it's fallout. Your hosts, Kait Russell (@just_kait) and Kade Bailey (@kadebailey) were in Manhattan when Broadway closed it's doors, and have a lot to say about the performing world and how they feel it should adapt in this new landscape.

Pour yourself a drink and help us scream it from the rooftops: We're Still Here.
