Two years ago, the legendary rocket man, aka my incredible friend sir Elton John got to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to train with an amazing soccer team and one kick ass soccer coach in Europe. Shit. The highlight of 2018 for me was that I didn’t have acne. Throughout his experience he got to train with the best, eat amazing food, learn another language, and immerse himself in a culture that brought a few worlds together. In this episode, he was giving me pointers on college based on his experience and I got a sneak preview into the mind of the man who’s presence makes you want to strive for more and give an extra 10%. He’s already achieved so much. I’m just looking forward to seeing him get better and better with the years to come. Ladies and gentlemen, Benny and Jets.

Let’s just get into the fact that my sister was working a promotional event and it ended with her having a 14k diamond ring on her finger. And I can’t even get a guy to ask me on a date. Stay tuned as we talk about the fuckery that unfolded when I went on the date that went south quick.

There is no such thing as the perfect relationship, but oh will someone try all in the name of love. Finding out your partner wasn't who you thought they were sucks. There is always a lesson to learn and through the good and the bad it changes you. Just don't sit back and watch it unfold or life will decide for you.

I took it upon myself to Google the word insecurity because I am a depressing millennial with the social skills of a granny who lives like she is still in times of the first world war. Oh babushka. Does anyone’s opinion outside of your own really matter? Well, that depends on what it costs you. ”If it costs you your peace, it’s too expensive.” In all honesty, who actually gives a fuck? That’s right, sadly I did.

Find your center. What’s your focus? If this quarantine has taught me anything it’s that I am blessed. So much can and has happened, but when forced to face ourselves we’ll be fine. As painful as it may seem at times, it’s necessary to get to know you. Make time. Be honest. The truth hurts, but that’s how you work through problems. By addressing them.

Honey, if you don’t have the chutzpah to check in with yourself when you forget who you are, what is the point? Appreciate your support systems, but I hope for damn sure you are your biggest hype person. Hellooo! People can see whatever they want, but just show me who you is. Now that’s an interesting topic.

There’s a time for everything. I won’t say life got easier but giving myself permission to grieve sure helped me in the smallest but meaningful ways. Take care of yourself. Outside of God, you know yourself best. Self-care should be a natural instinct, not something you need permission for.

“Dear Abigail, I trust you.” One of the hardest habits I have to learn how to break is second guessing myself. We all have common sense, but whatever I choose to believe drives me to change and I HOPE it’s for the better. Hope is wonderful. It kept me going for a long time, but I want to act on that hope and be happy. That is my true focus.

(Here’s an audio snippet from my upcoming book) As much as people either love you or, quite frankly, don’t know who you are, no one genuinely cares as much as you do about your pursuits. It’s much easier to explain what you want when there’s a visual. Unsure of how to start? Just do something already. Make the time and it’ll pay off as long as you don’t half ass your efforts.

I'm not too familiar with the dating scene, but the relationship that made me the most nervous was the one where I got to know myself. Who's to say you won't find your ”person?” That day will present itself if you let it, but there is nothing more intriguing than getting to know the person you face in the mirror everyday.
