What It's Like... to be Nathan Quinn-O’Rawe

On today's episode, I’m chatting with the actor playing Mick in BBC Three’s upcoming comedy-drama My Left Nut. Taking classes at the local drama school in Belfast, this week’s guest never anticipated a starring role in an on-screen show. Deciding to leave acting behind him to focus on school studies, it was a random email he got whilst on holiday with his friends, that decided a new fate for him. Catching a flight home to audition, it wasn’t long before he was thrown into intensive filming and well, he can tell you what happened next. Sharing how he navigated a script set around a personal life story and the topic of men’s health, here’s what it’s like to be Nathan Quinn-O’Rawe.

My Left Nut will be airing on BBC Three tomorrow, Monday 25th April. The series will run over three episodes released weekly and you can catch up on iPlayer for anything you've missed.

What It's Like... to be Ash Jones

On today’s episode, I’m joined by founder and CEO of Great Influence - the UK’s leading personal branding agency. The expert that’s building some of the internet’s favourite entrepreneurs, it all started for this week’s guest when he met a guy named Steven Bartlett. Joining the team at Steven’s first start-up, Wallpark, it wasn’t until they began cultivating what would become the world-renowned digital marketing agency, Social Chain, that he began to notice a shift in the way things were being promoted. Realising people would more readily buy into people, rather than a whole load of adverts and campaigns, he started honing in on the art of building public profiles. After seeing massive success with Steven, he decided it was time to try make it on his own. Taking what he'd learnt so far, he set up Great Influence. Handling the personal images of Umar Kamani, founder of Pretty Little Thing, Julian Hearn, founder of Huel and Oliver Cookson of MyProtein - to name but a few - he's lifting the veil on the personal branding buzz word that's spreading like wildfire across social media. Here’s what it’s like to be Ash Jones.

On today’s episode, I’m chatting with the founder of Sentidu Life Coaching, a method that specialises in mental focus and emotional mastery. Growing up in a turbulent environment, this week’s guest knows exactly what it means to turn a bad situation on its head. Overcoming eating disorders, a period of domestic abuse and bouts of depression, she decided it was her purpose in life to share her experiences in the hopes of helping others. Giving her tips on how to live life to the fullest, here’s what it’s like to be Elena Perella.

For more information on Sentidu, visit https://www.sentidu.com/

A few words from Elena:

"We live in a troubled world where anxiety, depression, and a lack of happiness are at higher levels than ever before. We need to shift our thinking and our attitude towards life. My mission is to help you become a New Human Being through recognising your limiting conditionings and break through them. Eventually you will master your thoughts and emotions, and live with a sense of fulfilment.

I am passionate about what I do. I coached myself through a severe depression, eating disorders and domestic violence and my experience has led me on a journey of discovery of how to break out all of these challenges. As a result I created a program to help people experience their own transformation and break free in the areas they feel stuck."

What It's Like... to be Shaan Mahrotri

On today’s episode, I’m joined by serial entrepreneur and founder of Cannamplify, a group of companies dedicated to making cannabis a part of everyday life. Born into entrepreneurship, this week’s guest was helping his parents with their businesses as early as nine years old. His ambitions as a teenager didn’t quite end up working out as he’d hoped following his time in the film industry being cut short, but in true entrepreneurial style, he quickly pivoted and found himself pursuing his many other side hustles. After successfully trying his hand at many industries, he became drawn to the world of cannabis and set to work creating what would become the centre of the European industry. Sharing how he overcomes challenges, rewriting the story around the drug and his definition of success, here’s what it’s like to be Shaan Mahrotri.

What It's Like... to be Tyler Clark

On today’s episode, you’ll be hearing from a champion bodybuilder and contestant on the vastest season of SAS: Who Dares Wins. Growing up an active child, this week’s guest entered her teenage years relatively healthy but a few decisions later, found herself excessively drinking, increasingly experiencing low moods and overweight. She tells me of her turning point, a visit to the doctors whilst pregnant, that changed everything for her. Being told she was at high risk of contracting diabetes, she knew she had to make drastic changes and so set off to the gym in search of a solution. Falling in love with feeling strong, she set her sights on bodybuilding and worked her way into championship after championship. Wanting to test her newfound strength and push her mental capabilities to the extreme, she signed up to be a contestant on her favourite TV show and weeks later was at the mercy of Ant Middleton and the Channel 4 producers. Filling in the gaps and sharing her advice after beating a ten year long depression, here’s what it’s like to be Tyler Clark.

On today’s episode, I’m sitting down with a wellness expert and one of Ireland’s first ever instructors of the Wim Hof method. As a teenager, this week’s guest had his sights set on professional basketball. Fully committed to pursuing his passion, he found himself deeply thinking about life in a way he couldn’t ignore. His questions became too loud and so he decided to hang up his trainers and go in pursuit of a different path altogether. Delving into the world of natural healing, he stumbled across Wim Hof whilst listening to a podcast. Captivated by the promise of a calmer, healthier lifestyle, he decided to research further and enrolled on the course to become an instructor. Combining powerful breathing techniques and cold water therapy, he completely changed his life around and dedicated his time thereafter to helping others. Sharing his take on the nature versus modern medicine debate, explaining the cold water phenomenon that’s taking over Ireland and the impact natural healing can have on mental health, here’s what it’s like to be  Níall Ó Murchú.

On today’s episode, I’m speaking with founder and creative director of French high-end streetwear brand, NASASEASONS and Prospect 100, a series of youth competitions set up to find the best in their fields. Growing up in the Tumblr era, this week’s guest has always been intrigued by the aesthetic and culture of his generation. What began as a collective of friends hosting parties in Paris, transformed into an idea of how they could capture a moment in time and eventually a streetwear brand that would end up on the heads of Hollywood and beyond. Stitching short, snappy slogans on to caps would take over his life for the next few years and little did he know he was in the process of building a concept that would attract the likes of Rihanna, Beyonce, Kanye West - and have his name mentioned in Vogue and Forbes to name a few. Sharing with me how he did it from start to finish alongside his other creative projects that include work with the Rolling Stones and setting up a competition series with a judging panel that boasted Steve Wozniak, here’s what it’s like to be Alexandre Daillance.

On today’s episode, I'm chatting with a creative strategist and co-founder of Block Party and Bare Knuckle. Growing up in a small town in the Netherlands, this week’s guest has always been a creative. Honing his skills on photoshop, he first dipped his toes into entrepreneurship by making promotional posters for his friends’ parties at school. What It's Like... to be Lorraine Keane

On today’s episode, I’m chatting with an IFTA-nominated broadcaster, journalist and entrepreneur. This week’s guest had no doubt about the path she wanted to take in life. From a young age being surrounded by music and the world of entertainment from her musician father, she found her comfort performing on stage. Following her interests, she enrolled on a one year broadcast journalism course and before graduation secured a role reading the AA Roadwatch traffic news on national radio. A job that would put her future career plans in motion, it was her determination to make it on TV with a televised traffic report that changed everything. Fast forward having stood on the world’s biggest red carpets, fronted her own entertainment programme, Xposé, travelled the globe in an effort to aid developing countries and creating products such as the Magic Hair Brush - here’s what it’s like to be Lorraine Keane.

What It's Like... to be Michael Italiano

On today’s episode, I’m sitting down with performance coach to Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo and online fitness trainer. Growing up in Perth, Australia, it hasn’t always been a straight road for this week’s guest. Finishing high school he decided to follow his creative interests first and ended up working a 9-5 in civil structural engineering. A few years in, he realised something just wasn’t right. Taking a leap of faith, he gave it all up to pursue his passion and set up a personal training business. Remaining friends with the racing driver over the years, he never imagined his rapidly growing fitness career would land him a position as performance coach to one of the best competitors on the circuit. Packing his bags, he brought his business with him as he moved it online and set his sights on the checkered flag. To tell his story, here’s what it’s like to be Michael Italiano.

What It's Like... to be Vanessa Guerra

On today’s episode, I’m sitting down with pit lane reporter, tv presenter and host of Red Bull’s Inside Pass MotoGP vlog series. Growing up motorbikes weren’t always in this guest’s future. It was a visit to the track to watch her brother compete in the Stock600 European Championships that changed everything. Helping out the team that day with her managerial and language skills led to a permanent position and it was all engines go from there. Adapting to the new lifestyle of living racetrack to racetrack, she quickly fell in love. From becoming the first ever female Moto2 team manager to working as Marc Marquez’s press officer at the Honda factory team, a pit lane reporter for Eurosport and most recently a Red Bull presenter - there’s not much she hasn’t encountered in the sport. Sharing all the behind the scenes of her crazy ride so far, here’s what it’s like to be Vanessa Guerra.
