I am a Black woman who won’t shrink. Because…WHY?

*Note: Carlee Russell has been found and is with her family. As we let the rest of this matter unfold, I will believe Black women until I have no reason NOT to! With all that is happening with Carlietha “Carlee” Russell, there is almost a Cthulhu nature to what is happening now. Within almost a week, this woman’s life (for good or ill) will never be the same…ever again. Yet, the darker thing is THE WHY.

“And Imma keep saying it!” It is always an EXPERIENCE when Ms. Cooki Ann is on this platform! She has declared her to be a free Black woman, and encourages other Black women to follow suite! She is not a public figure, a mammie, or a judge of your past—yet, this portion of wisdom shared here is a reminder that you will never be too old to be poured into—or be confirmed you are going in the right direction. In my Big Freedia voice, “YOU BETTER ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!”

With this conversation, Ms. Cooki Ann gives us this phrase: “journeying towards freedom”. From mental health, dating, and freedom for Black women, she reminds us that freedom is a moving target, and we as Black women must purpose to choose ourselves…daily.

Just because Carolyn Bryant died, doesn’t mean her kids, the bitter root, by which she came, in the evilness that still surrounds us is all gone. In fact, far from it. Femininity is complex for Black women. With all this blame and dogging of Black women of what we are, are not, and cannot hope to become—I introduce “femininity coaches” into this convo. With the help of TikTok Good Sister Imdavendrew, we’re about to get to the bottom of this here! ***Note: PART TWO IS TBD.***

Black women will always be too much for world. That is undeserving of them! We see how, for the want of the preservation of white women, mediocrity, and other vivid peoples opinions that Angela Bassett did not win best actress at this year‘s Oscars. We also see that a Angel Reese is still seen as the villain in the Cinderella story of the University of Iowa. For this show, it must be reminded to all of you that are listening: Black women don’t owe you nothing.

For this episode I give my reaction to this whole Jonathan Majors situation. It is heartbreaking to me as one who identifies herself as being a patron of the arts, and I support are there in. Well, none of us were there, historically we all were. And that we is… Black people. I was Jonathan every success going forward. And if it is found at this woman was lying on him? It wouldn’t be the first time, a White woman lied on a Black man and cried, would it?

I’m tired of black and sell culture. I am tired of police violence. This episode I discuss how these events are along the same spectrum. Both of these are fueled, and fostered by socialization expectations and experience. Healing have to start… And it’s gonna be uphill and hard.
