Bonus: Convos With Mama Jayebird
This episode is special to me, because it gives a peek into the relationship that I am forming and enjoying with my own mother. At age 72, she is still spry, wise, and with the fierce women that I know. From this candid relationship conversation, I hope that you all can Garner a little bit more insight into who I am, and the woman who made me who I am, and just how fierce it is to be Black and woman. Episode 7: Part Of That World—For OUR Ariel
There are something to be said, for the major racist reaction that has come to the doorstep of black fandoms again. Haley Bailey, who is now and will ever be known in black households as our aerial will be depicting the Little mermaid in March 2023. I is a little black girl who wants dreamed of being a mermaid, but was told I couldn’t because of my hair, and my inability know how to swim, that could not be my reality, so I had to settle for playing that in the bathtub. Yet, this insult to Haley, and the assault to the heart of black, phantoms everywhere, is nothing new. In this episode, we are going to delve into just why this is. And why it is that the uncolored cannot stand to be a unbothered. You can send all love notes to whatjayesaid@gmail.com. No: this will be a bonus episode on The Writers’ Block Podcast podcast as well. So, if you’d like to help keep the lights on, $JBHWrites.

Episode 2: Overturning of Roe and When Black Women Say “No”.
The repercussions of the overturning of Roe v. Wade are far reaching! Yet, we fight because we cannot afford to die. On this particular episode I break down the historical context around white feminism, the need for more white women to read HOOD FEMINISM, the legacy of lackadaisical White women, and just why Black women need to be listened to more often. The two initiatives mentioned: JAMAA Birth Village (jamaabirthvillage.org) and HONOR BLACK BIRTH (honorblackbirth.org). Please consider supporting either initiative—THEY ARE BLACK WOMAN RUN!
