Episode 190: Ignorant Shit

Episode 190: Ignorant Shit

As a content creator you do your best to create what you personally want to express to the world, whether it’s images, words or sounds. But, it’s the people who loves your art that helps ascend you to another love in your career. What happens when your audience or the world doesn’t necessarily care for your art? Do you switch up? Do you cater to them even though it doesn’t align with where you are currently? Does it stop your growth as a creator? Today we tackle those questions! After the social experiment episode “Eskimo Brother’s” Lashawn is contemplating what type of content he wants to create. Jay-Z once said “I wanted to rhyme like common sense, but I made 5 million I haven’t been rapping like common since.” Ironically this episode was inspired by Jay-Z song Ignorant Shit off of his classic album “American Gangster.” This episode was recorded on August 25th 2020. Episode 171: Insecure

Episode 171: Insecure

Episode 171 of What’s A Good Guy? was recorded before the unnecessary murder of George Floyd. Before we start this Episode I would love for you to join us as we take a moment of silence for the 8 minutes and 46 seconds that officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on Mr. Floyd’s neck. But unlike Mr. Floyd after the 8 minutes and 46 seconds we’ll be able to use our voices again, with our voices we can speak change into the universe, our voices must then transition into actions, whether that’s donations, protesting, signing petitions, getting involved in local city council and using our right to vote. We must not let all the people who died to police brutality and systematic racism be in vain. Our contributions, culture and community won’t be silenced anymore. This is bigger than us we can change tomorrow if we unify as one, the fight will be long, tiring and at times will seem impossible but if this means that our children can walk freely in this word without worrying about being profiled then this is the hill that we should all die on. Say their names. Black Lives Matter. Thank You. Who said being insecure has to be a bad thing? To me it’s an assignment on what to work on to become the best version of myself. With all assignments you have to be willing to do the work and that’s what we discuss today, the work that goes into overcoming your insecurities. If someone in your life throws your insecurities in your face let them! It says a lot of them less about you! Insecurities is just an awareness take the power away from them and focus on you! But be every mindful of what you allow to fuel you in life just like a car not every fuel is good for you...we touch on all those things and more enjoy! This episode was recorded on May 23rd 2020. Episode 170: Circle Of Life

Episode 170: Circle Of Life

This episode was recorded on May 19th six days before the murder of George Floyd, but the discussion of what was said on this episode unfortunately still resonates for today. As content creators we strive to make timeless content that will stand the test of time, but when it comes to police brutality, the injustice that we as African American’s face everyday and the lack of equality I really don’t mind if this type of content comes with an expiration date. We’re tired seeing our people die in cold blood by those who was sworn to protect and serve, which is why on Episode 170 of WhatsAGoodGuy? Lashawn confess that he is considering not having children, not because he doesn’t to produce another generation but because of the potential danger his black son could possibly face. Episode 169: People's Court

Order! All Rise! This Is Case Number 169 in the matter of the You vs Public Opinion parties have been sworn in, you maybe seated! Living in a world where you have access to so many people opinions it can possibly cloud your judgement, the power of an influence is one thing but the power of someone’s opinion? Well that’s what we’re here to discuss. The general consensus on what’s the latest fashion, places to go, what to listen to is alright but having the ability to think on your own are ways to avoid being persuaded by the opinion of others. But what happens when the public is against you? What happens when you make a mistake? Is there room from growth? Is forgiveness out the window? When it comes to the public opinion why are you guilty before you’re proven innocent? You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth....and honestly the truth isn’t just as entertaining. Episode 166: Minding My Business

Episode 166: Minding My Business

Due to all the allegations against former Dussé Palooza host, episode 99 and all things related to that guest is no longer available. No matter how many views that episode got the views of our community, our personal stance and the views of the women matter most. Today’s episode is about how the concept of “minding my business” can put us at fault. A noticeable thing that occurred once women came forward about their accusers was the whispers of many people saying “I been knew” or “I already heard about these things” if that’s the case why is now being handled? How many women could’ve avoided going through the trauma of sexual assault, coercion and possibly rape if we weren’t just minding our business? Don and Lashawn discuss what steps they’re going to take to remove the mindset of “that’s not my business.” They also ask each other tough questions about challenging their friends, their emotions seeing the news about the accuser and more. Unfortunately we had to end our women’s history month series early due to the covid-19. Which lead to how the covid-19 is effecting our everyday life. We challenged the saying “if you have to pick between me and someone else pick the other person?” We wouldn’t say that to the person who’s interviewing us for a job so why would we say that to a person we want?
