122. Jessica Myers CHt // EFT Specialist & Actor

Today on What's My Frame I'm joined by actress and EFT specialist, Jessica Myers.

I had the joy of learning from Jessica earlier this year at SAG-AFTRA in one of her workshops geared towards empowering and supporting actors both in and out of their acting work. As you'll hear in today's conversation, Jessica is a bright light and has a natural warmth but what really confirmed I needed to have her join me for a WMF conversation was when I experienced EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) personally in an audition.

In today's episode we dive into how EFT can empower your acting, reduce stress, Jessica's toolbox of science, positive psychology, creative visualization, the language of the subconscious mind and so much more! Jessica is driven by educating others how to create more joyful living and working as positive emotions optimize brain/body functioning, overall physical/emotional well-being, and performance. "You must increase your positive mental capital, also known as Psychological Capital, to self regulate, motivate, and activate. " Jessica Myers, CHt.

Today on What's My Frame I'm joined my model, photographer and Jill of all trades, Samantha Tokita.

I discovered Samantha's work via past What's My Frame guest Jeff Vallee

Beyond her clear talent for photography I really respected her approach to the work. Sam says on her site "I’ve said YES to every creative opportunity I’ve encountered." I think having a yes attitude is so important and will open more doors for your career than you can imagine.

In today's episode we talk about Sam's past work with some of the biggest names in fitness. The importance of seeing yourself in media, her beautiful photography and so much more. Now let's get to the conversation!

113. Jenn Presser // Casting Director

Today on What's My Frame I'm joined by Casting Director, Jenn Presser. For anyone that's met Jenn or listened to her podcast Tipsy Casting you know Jenn is a beautiful balance of strength and heart!

I met Jenn several years ago and still remember to this day her kindness and the way she made an effort to get to know me as an actor in the room, my interests, where I studied... it was one of those rare times where you really feel yourself coming into focus. It wasn't a question of if but when could we have Jenn on the show because she is a busy woman!!

As you'll hear today Jenn is truly an inspiration. An excellent example of going where you're celebrated and taking on the challenges that scare you! After working with some of the top casting directors in the US; Jenn founded her own company, Break Away Casting.

In 2023 she continued to blaze her own trail by relocating to the UK; and expanding her office. I'm sure it's becoming evident that Jenn isn't afraid of hard work, or finding her own way in this business. Break Away Casting is now one of the first offices of it's kind offering productions an expert on both US & UK talent.

And lastly Jenn shares how her hit podcast, Tipsy Casting with fellow casting director Jessica Sherman came about. Now let's get to this fabulous conversation!

112. Brian Sutow // Casting Director

Today on What's My Frame I'm joined by Casting Director, Brian Sutow. I had the joy of meeting Brian through a SAG-AFTRA Foundation class earlier this year. His articulate redirects, instinctual understanding of an actor's process and natural warmth made for a really special class. There's also the fact he's a fellow NCSA Pickle, so obviously for many reasons I wanted to have him on the show and discuss his creative journey!

Brian shares the twists and turns that lead him into a career in casting; he's now part of one of the busiest offices in LA. One thing I really admire about Brian is his openness; when reading with him you feel like you have someone in the world you've created with you and that he's genuinely rooting for you to succeed! Brian also shares some really empowering thoughts on his time as an actor and how he felt auditioning.

I can't wait to share this episode with y'all; I hope it encourages your creativity like it did mine! Now let's get to this fabulous conversation!

Today on What's My Frame? I'm joined by Madeline Di Nonno, president & CEO of the Genna Davis Institute on Gender in Media. The Geena Davis Institute is the leading research based non-profit working within the entertainment and media industry to achieve gender equity in family media and entertainment. Madeline leads the Institute's strategic direction, advocacy, programs and research. I'm so thankful to have Madeline join us on What's My Frame? this week to share her insight and what the Institute is doing within the industry to change the content the next generation of young creatives are watching.

Madeline brings a track record of successful executive leadership in the entertainment, non-profit & digital space. 84. Jeremy Gordon // Casting Director & Jeremy Gordon Coaching

Today on What's My Frame? back by popular demand I'm joined by casting director and coach Jeremy Gordon. Since Jeremy's last conversation (ep.42) with us he's become quite the social media personality helping actors daily through his humorous and helpful posts! Jeremy also expanded his business with Jeremy Gordon Coaching; today we get a behind the scenes of what working with Jeremy is like along with how to make the most out of your coaching session. Full disclosure because Jeremy and I are friends we go off the set list of questions a few times and have some really honest and interesting conversations along the way about the casting and self tape space. Now let's get to the conversation!

83. Marcel Dagenais // Hair Department Head

Today on What's My Frame? I'm joined by Poker Face hair department head, Marcel Dagenais. I had the absolute joy of meeting Marcel last year on the set of Rain Johnson's new series Poker Face.

In the week leading up to joining the show I was blown away by Marcel and his team's attention to detail and pre planing. It dawned on me so many actors don't know what to expect after the offer email. We spend so much time focusing on getting the job we don't discuss the flood of emails / txts and planing that happens between booking and landing on set. Today Marcel and I discuss just that, how to share helping info with the hair & MUA department heads before arriving in their trailer along with so many more helpful tips.

Of course we also dive into Marcel's work in commercials and editorial along with a few favorites stories from set including a wild one from Russian Doll.

Additional credits and collaborators include, New York Magazine, PAPER Magazine, TIME, WWD, Refinery 29, V Magazine, NYLON, NYLON Mexico, Schön!
