Episode 34: John Fugelsang TSOA, actor, comic, tv host & broadcaster w/ co-host Cam Messinger (WN)
John Fugelsang worked as an RA in Hayden, (now Lipton), and later as a professional staff member in Weinstein during the late 1980s-early 1990s while he completed his degree from the Tisch School of the Arts. John has a diverse and eclectic career in the entertainment world. From his early roots in stand-up to actor (CSI- where he was murdered, to Providence and Coyote Ugly). In 2007, he premiered the acclaimed solo show All The Wrong Reasons Off Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop. The show received a Drama League nomination for "Distinguished Performance". He has also served as a TV host and is very proud of having hosted George Harrison’s last interview on VH1. Additionally, he was the co-host of America’s Funniest Videos for two seasons, CNBC, GSN’s World Series of Blackjack and a series on YouTube. He has also been featured on MSNBC, CNN, Fox News, CNBC, Politically Incorrect, and was the host of Current TV political talk show Viewpoint. John has been hosting a talk show on SiriusXM for the past three years. He married a fellow NYU RA and is a bi-coastal hard working industry professional.

Ramya Kamath DDS '09 CAS (Palladium RA) discusses career as a Dentist cohost Yumi Liu (Founders RA)
Ramya Kamath DDS is a board-certified pediatric dentist, currently living in St. Louis and practicing in Southern Illinois. She graduated from NYU with a degree in Anthropology, and earned her dental degree from Columbia University in New York. She went on to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, where she was trained in a wide array of behavior management techniques to help ease every child into the dental office. Ramya is also fluent in Spanish and has volunteered her services on outreach trips to Honduras and Guatemala. Aside from fighting mouth monsters and sugar bugs, she enjoys traveling, fitness, running, and experimenting with healthy treats in the kitchen. Ramya Kamath DDS (formerly Kanukollu) graduated from NYU CAS in 2009 and served as an RA for 2.5 years in Palladium on the Science & Technology Explorations floor. She is grateful for the mentorship and guidance of the ResEd staff during her formative years at NYU - special thanks to Chris Stipeck, Kristen Sylvester, and Blake Redding!

Episode 32: Nadia Kist '02 CAS & '04 Wagner Non-profit work (U-hall) co-host Elena Dimaano (Coral)
Nadia Kist graduated from NYU with a BA and a MA and served as an RA in University Hall for 3 years! She is a public health practitioner with a 15 year career leading global health and development initiatives. Her expertise is integrated HIV/AIDS interventions in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a specialized focus on community and health system strengthening. Currently serving as the Director of Africa Programs with Blood:Water, Nadia has managed complex programmatic implementation and health policy reform through host governments, private sector and civil society partnerships. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, Nadia’s work extends across 7 countries the eastern and southern Africa regions. Nadia has a Masters of Public Administration (MPA) from New York University in International Public and Non-profit Management (Wagner ’04) and a dual Bachelor of Arts in Politics and African Studies (CAS ’02). She completed a post-graduate certificate in Clinical Research Methods from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2015. Nadia has also made published contributions to numerous conferences, peer-review journals and the World Bank.

Christina Di Bartolo, LCSW is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Program Manager for Clinical and Education Research at NYU Langone’s Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. After graduating NYU with a major in Psychology and minors in Social Work and Child & Adolescent Mental Health Studies, she obtained her Master of Social Work from NYU. Christina loves working in education, research, and her clinical practice to help kids and families. While she treasured her time as an RA at Brittany Hall, she does not love that even 10 years later, hearing the duty phone ringtone can still make her heart skip a beat. James Di Bartolo is an investment banker at Lazard, where he focuses on mergers & acquisitions and strategic advisory in the Financial Institutions Group. Previously, James was a member of the investment team at Varadero Capital L.P., an alternative asset manager, where he focused on structured credit investing. He began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he worked in both the Investment Management and Investment Banking Divisions. James received a B.S. in Finance and History from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and an MBA from Yale University. James is a member of the Brookings Society and a Young Patron of the New York City Ballet. Episode 30: Tariq Ahmad '01 Yale U. Prof & MD Cardiovascular Medicine w/ co-host Lianna Tayman -TN
Tariq Ahmad MD MPH is an Assistant Professor in the Section of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine where he focuses the care of patients with advanced heart failure, left ventricular assist devices, and cardiac transplantation. He completed his clinical training at the Brigham and Women's Hospital at Harvard Medical School, in Boston, and at the Duke University Medical Center. His research focuses on biomarkers of heart failure and the use of advanced analytics and innovative technologies to bring the promise of precision medicine to the bedside of patients with heart failure. Tariq was an RA in Third North and graduated from NYU in 2001.

Josh graduated from Tisch is 2008 (Stella Adler and Stonestreet). He was an RA at Third North for two years. Josh is an actor who has the following television credits: police officer Billy Cepeda on Sirens (2014–2015), Hector Ruiz on The Electric Company (2009–2011), Justin Voight on Chicago P.D. (2014–2016) and Adrian Chase on Arrow (2016–2017). He has also appeared on Netflix’s Orange is the New Black as CO D. Stefanovic. His Broadway credits include: the original musical casts of Lysistrata Jones as Mick, Pasek and Paul's 2012 musical Dogfight based on the 1991 film of the same name, and the Gloria Estefan life story On Your Feet! in which he originated the role of Emilio Estefan. His favorite dining halls were the Third North dining hall and Palladium. His favorite movie is Heavyweights. His favorite ice cream is the “Birthday Cake Remix” from Coldstone.

Juan Espinal '12 born in NYC and served on the Third North staff. Juan is a true NYer but decided on joining Teach for America to see other parts of the US. He landed in Hawaii at Konawaena Elementary School and has never left! Juan's spirit and compassion for students from low socio-economic backgrounds has been a blessing for those whom he teaches. Bryan Pirolli '08 graduated with a degree in journalism and French before moving to Paris where he worked for NYU in Paris. He then began a freelance journalist career writing for magazines, websites, and travel guides. After earning his PhD from the Sorbonne and teaching in London, he has brought his research to the public with his most recent book on travel journalism, which address how the profession is changing in an era of TripAdvisor, Instagram, and Airbnb. Bryan will soon be embarking on his next step in Beijing, where he will be working as a digital travel editor for the Chinese media. Matthew Schulte '10 (SPS) has worked in the Kansas City Royals front office for eight years. While Matt started out in the Ticket Sales department, he has spent most of his time in various roles within the Marketing team. He now serves as the Senior Manager of Special Events and Promotions, responsible for the giveaway items, theme tickets, and special events. He was involved in executing MLB Jewel events that the Royals hosted, including the 2012 All-Star Game Festivities, 2014 Postseason, and the 2015 World Championship. Mr. Schulte also serves on the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Youth Symphony, Heartland Men’s Chorus, and the Greater Kansas City Attractions Association and was also a member of the Centurions Leadership Program through the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Schulte holds a B.S. Sports Management degree from NYU and grew up in Prairie Village, KS.

Anjum Unwala (NYU '08) served as an RA at Palladium Residence Hall from 2006 to 2008 under the leadership of Blake Redding and Kristen Sylvestor, supervisors for the Palladium Residence Hall. After graduating from NYU, Anjum volunteered with the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and later worked with rural communities in India on business development and youth education projects as an Indicorps Fellow. After returning to the US, Anjum attended and received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2014. She currently works as a lawyer at Hogan Lovells in Washington, D.C. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, baking and eating desserts, and running half marathons.

Lee Hwang was a three year RA in Palladium on the Science and Tech floor. She was born in Columbia, Missouri, grew up in a small rural town in South Korea, and went to school in Amarillo, Texas, before moving to New York City to pursue an undergraduate degree in neuroscience at NYU. In addition to providing incomparable academic opportunities, NYU allowed her to grow as a strong-willed and well-rounded leader through her role. As she prepares to start her career as a brain tumor neurosurgeon, she realizes that many of her skills in patient care developed during those years at NYU when she was responsible for the physical, mental, and emotional health of her residents. She is finishing her work at the Cleveland Clinic as a 6th year resident and performs brain tumor research at NIH in Bethesda, MD.

Tommy Craven was a two-time Carlyle Court RA on the Food For Thought exploration floor focused on food and diversity while attending Gallatin for a film and queer studies concentration. He is an LA-based writer/producer currently working in creative development for NBCUniversal’s integrated marketing departments. His creative has appeared across all platforms within The Grammys, The Academy Awards, and New York Fashion Week to support brands such as Absolut, Mastercard, and Uber amongst many others. His work has been awarded two ProMax Gold Awards in advertising and is consistently featured on Brandtale and other industry publications. Mustfa is a former healthcare management consultant with five years of experience and currently is a medical student at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of TJU in Philadelphia, PA. He is working on spine-focused clinical research projects at Hospital for Special Surgery, as well. Mustfa has also completed graduate degrees in healthcare management at Columbia University and medical microbiology at University of Florida. Savetrie is a licensed speech language pathologist with seven years of experience working with all ages in the home, school, and private office settings. She currently works for the Department of Education in the state's early intervention program and has private practice clients, as well. Savetrie has also maintained her relationship with NYU through research experiences in the NYU CSD department, serving as an adjunct instructor for the course Neuroanatomy & Physiology of Communication.

Kim Pham NYU ’14, RA in Carlyle Court, is a longtime human-in-technology, having worked in VC and startups in New York and Boston since she was 16. She graduated from NYU Stern, where she was the first female president of Tech@NYU and founding partner of Dorm Room Fund NYC. After graduating, Kim moved to Dublin and London to join Frontline Ventures as Head of Platform. Her work there led to her being named one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Europe in 2017. Kim now runs her own venture capital consultancy and is a co-founder at Oxtale.

Dilim Dieke NYU ' 15 MSW is currently the Mentoring Services Program Manager / Social Worker at The Catholic Big Sisters & Big Brothers. She also is an Adjunct Lecturer for Field Learning at Columbia's School of Social Work. Dilim was a Grad RA in Washington Square Village (WSV) from 2014-2015 and was also an RA as an undergraduate student at Arizona State University. Dilim graduated from NYU with an MSW from the Silver School of Social Work in May 2015. Additionally, Dilim recently co-founded the LIT Network, described as the first ever women of color (multicultural) young professional network of emerging leaders nationally.

Shauna Hamlin 2002-04 who served as an RA both in the old “uptown area” – 25th/26th street and Goddard Hall. Shauna, a west coaster, came to NYU to help continue to follow her aspirations in the film world. After graduation she ventured back ‘home’ to Seattle, LA and Vancouver, BC to take up her dream. She worked on production for Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and some other film projects.
