Why So Serious Pop Culture and Movie Review Podcast

WE ARE BACK!!!! And for good this time. Its been a year but for life reasons we took a break from the show, but also for life and mental health reason we are back and what better way to come back then to talk about the premier of X-Men 97. X-Men the animated series for ppl of a certain age is the holy grail and and Marvel basically said I got you and more. Brandon, Mike and Devin are back to recap the series and episode 1 and 2 came out the gate strong. We talk X-Men history, Magento taking over the X-Men, Rouge and Magneto, How the X-Men have always been woke and thats the point and so much more.

We are finally back!! Idk if anyone is still listening lol but we missed this and wanted to get back into it. Brandon has been off recording the RTO Podcast, We was Dragons and Hindsight, Devin was flying through the world, Reece is saving ppl up north and Mike is being mike but the crew got back together to catch up with each other and with the world. We hope to keep this going and hope yall come back so check out the episode . 

Brandon, Devin, Mike, Reese and Old Man Wade are back to recap The Boys. The Boys is out of control and I say that in every good way possible. The Boys and The Supes are both on a whole new level but the series brings so much nuance to The Boys that the comics does not role with. We see Hughie and Butcher getting on the same page while Homelander becomes insane. 

Brandon, Devin, Reese and Old Man Wade are back to talk about random nonsense in the world of comic books, movies, and tv shows and of course we ended the show talking about Sex Robots. We talked Netflix first NC-17 film, Will Smith, Doctor Strange, Lebron vs Jordan and a sex robot survey that had some surprising and some disturbing results.

Brandon, Travis and Rich recap episode 3&4 of The Expanse season six. Marcos Inaros might be one of the easiest people to hate on tv and these two episodes had us yelling at the screen. But this show knows how to build to a finale and it appears episode 5 and 6 are going to be insane.

Brandon, Rich Fann and Travis Bryant are back to Recap one of our favorite shows The Expanse. This is the 6th and final season of The Expanse and while we are sad to see it go, we know these six episodes are going to be fire and these first two start off building a lot in this final season. 

Brandon and Chanel are joined by Rich Fann from the PwTorch to talk about the season finale of Succession. This show is incredible and this finale is the perfect cap to one of the best seasons of television in history. Brandon, Devin, Lauren and Steph are back to discuss episode 8 of Insecure. 

The whole crew is back to talk about episode 6 of Insecure Tired, Okay, we only have 4 episodes left!! This episode was a lot of emotion, a lot of growth from Molly and not so much by Issa and Nathan. Issa took some l's this episode but we talk about why she may be mostly to blame she is not all at fault. Molly is still dealing with her mother being in the hospital, but seems to start a bit of a flame with Taurean. Oh yeah and we find out that Lawrence moved back to LA. 

Brandon and Devin are joined by Chanel to discuss episode 5 of the final Season of Insecure. We talk about Issa and Nathan being on the same page, how much this season has been about Molly's growth and what we expect to happen with Lawrence in the future.

The Whole Crew is Back!!! Steph, Brandon, Devin and Lauren are back together to talk about one of the best episodes of Insecure. This episode was Lawrence centrist and we knew it was gonna be controversial. Lawrence is clearly stuck in this nice guy zone and we get some really uncomfortable but real scenes in this episode. 

Mike is back to continue his Avengers of Justice story and this week The Tesseract comes into play. Loki meets Harrison Wells, things start to become clearer of Batman's allegiance and the Dark Side makes new alliances. 

We are back!!!!! Well this week Brandon and Lauren are back, Steph and Dev will be back next week but we are all excited for the 5th and final season of insecure. Lauren and Brandon go through the episode talk about the crew's trip down memory lane at their Ten year college reunion. We talk about Issa and Molly friendship, Kelli's character changing, Cheyenne, Lawerence and Issa, Molly and Andrew and more. We love talking about this show and know yall love listening so we hope to have a great season.

Brandon, Mike and Javi from the Old Man Wade Show are back to recap the first three episode of Loki. This show is fully embracing the craziness of time and time travel along with the multiverse theory that Marvel has been weaving in over the past two years. We find out more about this Loki variant while also creating more questions. The guys discuss all these things and then finish up with some marvel news.

Brandon, Rashanii and Jeff are back for another movie review this week we are reviewing the thrilling sequel A Quiet Place Part 2. This film absolutely lives up to the original and expands on this universe by giving us more back story on the Dark Angels, lets us meet other survivors and gives us a hint at how the world may come back from this. 

Brandon, Reese and Devin are joined by one of our favorite people Old Man Wade from the Old Man Wade show. We catch up wit Old Man, talk about the show, his writing and more, then we get into the news of the week including Zach Snyder's nonsense, Sprial, Legends of the Hidden Temple coming back, UFO evidence, scheming mom, and sex doll microtransactions and so much more. 

We are back the whole crew, Reese, Mike, Devin and Brandon to catch up on things, we talk Invincible being one of the best 1st seasons ever, Marvel getting us hype to go back to the movies, Mike talks nerdy divings stuff and of course robot news. 

Brandon, Devin, Reese and Mike are finally back to our Marvel TV Reviews this time reviewing Episodes 1-3 of Falcon and Winter Solider. This show is the Second Disney+ Marvel show following the super popular Wandavision and this is no setback. Nick Spencer Captain America story is one of the best comics of the last decade and this show is heavily influenced by that. We explore race, class, grief, and redemption and we get dancing zemo. 

Jeff and Brandon are back to review Godzilla vs King Kong. This was a quick review for us because their is not much of a story however this is absolutly a film you should go see. Finally Warner gave us some top level action set pieces, big monster fights and limit the human story. This is the best of the MonsterVerse films and go check it out ASAP.

Brandon, Rashanii and Jeff are back and yes we sat down for 4 hours and watched the Snyder Cut. While this film is technically better than the theatrical cut, its still not a good movie, with a lot of holes and its really really really....... really long. We talk about how it differed from the theatrical version, how Ray Fisher had every right to be mad, how the Snyder Cult hurts these DC films and how Warner Bros has no plan and much more.

Brandon, Devin, Reese and Mike are back to discuss the news of the week. Everybody is looking forward to this weekend for two distinct reasons, the terrible Snyder Cut and the Great Falcon and Winter Solider. We discuss those two things as well as a stupid bank robber, calling out black, Qanon people, shape shifting robots and so much more. 

Brandon, Rashanii and Jeff are back with our Movie Reviews and this time we are reviewing the Sequel to the Classic Coming To America, we are reviewing Coming 2 America. Eddie Murphy and the whole crew are back and because of COVID this film was released on Amazon Prime and it was fun and fine. It was not great and it wasn't terrible but it is polarizing and we talk about all of that. 

Mike is back for the long awaited Episode 3 of Avengers of Justice. 

Brandon, Devin, Reese and Mike are back to talk the Season Finale of WandaVision, The Movies delayed by COVID, Texas lifting the Mask Mandate so we are all doomed down here, Marvel is actually doing Captain America Sam Wilson run and folks are going to be mad, T.I fumbling the bag, Anime News and of Course Sex Robots.

We spend some time talking the democrats big win in Georgia and then the subsequent insurrection by the white supremacist Trump supporters. Then we get into the news of the week, we talk Anime, DCEU, Seinfeld, MCU on Disney+ and so much more.  

Brandon, Travis and Rich are back to talk The Expanse Season 5 Episode 5 Down and Out. This episode picks up after the largest terrorist attack in human history on both Mars and Earth. We see Amos and Peaches trying to escape the UN Penitentiary and encountering one of the funniest characters in the history of the show Tiny.  We also check in with Naomi on Marco Inaros ship dealing with her son being responsible for a terrorist attack. We get Holden on Tycho trying to figure out what the hell is going on and who is responsible. Lastly we check in with Bobby and Alex tracking potential people involved in this mess.

This is still one of the best shows on television and season 5 is hitting on all cylinders.

We are back this week to do what we do and cover the news in Movies, TV, Gaming and more. But today is a special day because we welcome our newest co-host to the show Reece. Reece has been on the show many times before, but with the Nerdy Watch podcast on  hiatus we asked Reece to join us cuz we love her and she brings so much to the show. Make sure you show Reece some love and expect to hear her going forward into 2021.

This week we talk a number of things including the Wonder Woman 1984 debacle and how DC either does not care or is clueless to what their audience wants to see, Upcoming DC films, Saved By the Bell craziest moments, Rick and Morty, Robots being able to say no, Sex Robots, Fact or Fiction and Mike's update on Virtual Reality Racism and is it Virtual Reality Blackface.

Since Mike and Devin refuse to watch the greatness which is The Expanse. We are joined by two of my favorite people Rich Fann and Travis Bryant to discuss the first four episodes of The Expanse Season 5. This show is one of if not the best show on television and Season 5 may be even better so far. This season our main crew is all split up so we are getting 5 different stories that we know will somehow come together, plus the threat of the protomolecule as well as Marco Inarus and the free navy. 

Brandon, Rashanii and Sharmane are back to review this disaster of a film. Okay maybe disaster is a bit strong, but this film is not good at all. This film does have some great acting from Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal, and a great after credit scene, everything else in this film is either unnecessary or down right bad. We go into detail about how this film missed, simple fixes that would make this film better and how offensive this film is to what Wonder Woman is suppose to stand for. 

We are joined by Jeff from the Jeff Vs The World Podcast who came through in a bind for us. We catch up with Jeff about the success of Hood Classics and his podcast on a whole, what he has planned for the future and then we get into the news

We are joined by Tachi from the TV Channeling Podcast and Media scope to catch up on life in the Covid, her podcast and anything new she has been up too. Tachi is doing so well and is into so many things that we all should check out. She has not been on the show for a while but we plan to have her back on very very soon.

This is Why So Serious first original story and what if content. This is a Mike solo venture that he has been wanting to do for three years.
