Hierfür lernen wir auch, wie wir auf Deutsch ein Datum (z.B. 21.2.2023) richtig aussprechen. Da muss man die Zahlen nämlich ein bisschen ändern.

Bist du schon mal umgezogen? Ja? Wohin bist du gezogen?

In dieser Folge berichte ich dir von meinem Umzug in ein Haus in Neuseeland. Wir lernen dabei, wie die Zimmer in einem Haus oder in einer Wohnung heißen und welche Gegenstände es in einer Küche gibt.

Du kannst am Ende über deinen eigenen Umzug in dein neues (Traum-)Haus sprechen und andere Menschen um etwas bitten. Hierfür lernen wir den Imperativ für 'du' und 'ihr'.

Der Januar ist oft ein kalter, trister Monat. Wenn man die Zeit und das Geld hat, ist jetzt eine gute Zeit für einen Skiurlaub. 

Warst du schon mal im Skiurlaub? Wie war dein Hotelzimmer? Wie bist du zum Skilift gekommen?

In dieser Folge lernst du viele Möbelstücke und kannst ein (Hotel)Zimmer beschreiben. Dabei wiederholen wir auch nochmal die Wechselpräpositionen. Du lernst auch, wie du mit dem formellen Imperativ einen Weg beschreiben kannst. Das hört sich schwieriger an, als es ist. :)

Neues Jahr, neues Glück! Welche Neujahrsvorsätze hast du für 2023?

Ich erzähle dir, welche guten Vorsätze ich für das neue Jahr habe. Und du kannst mir erzählen, welche Neujahrsvorsätze du hast. 

Hierfür benutzen wir die Modalverben 'möchten, wollen, müssen, dürfen' und 'würde gern'. Wir lernen viele neue Wörter und den Unterschied zwischen 'viel' und 'viele'.

Das Jahr ist fast zu Ende, Weihnachten ist vorbei, aber Silvester steht kurz vor der Tür! Wie feiern die Menschen in Deutschland Silvester? Das erfährst du in dieser Folge!

Außerdem lernen wir, was wir zum Tisch decken brauchen und wo die einzelnen Gegenstände liegen: auf, unter, neben, über ...

Zum Abschluss gibt es eine kleine Geschichte und du musst eine Frage beantworten: Weißt du, wo der Gegenstand ist?

Weihnachten bedeutet nicht automatisch Schnee & Glühwein. Ich feiere dieses Jahr in Neuseeland Weihnachten - in der Sonne und am Strand. In dieser Folge lernen wir Wörter zum Reisen und du kannst mir am Ende erzählen, wie, wo und mit wem DU dieses Jahr feierst! Dazu lernen wir mehr zum Dativ mit 'mit' und 'bei'.

Am Sonntag war der erste Advent! Weihnachten steht vor der Tür. 

In dieser Folge lernen wir ein paar wichtige Wörter für die wunderschöne Adventszeit und Weihnachtsmärkte. Wir können jetzt entspannt einen Glühwein bestellen und die Tasse wieder abgeben. Prost!

Außerdem lernen wir ein paar neue Verben mit Akkusativ, zum Beispiel "abgeben" und die Tageszeiten.

Heute gibt es eine Challenge: Wir sprechen heute nur Deutsch! Kein Englisch! 

Welche Beziehungen haben unsere Familienmitglieder? Sind sie Single? Sind sie in einer Beziehung? Waren sie verheiratet? 

Was ist 'waren'? Das lernen wir heute. Dieses Wort brauchen wir sehr oft.

Und wir lernen weitere Possessivpronomen: mein, dein, sein, ihr, ... ganz schön viel, aber wir schaffen das!

Time to meet the family - in German! In this episode we will learn words for our direct family members and that includes step-, adopted and foster family members: Stiefeltern, Adoptivmütter und Pflegeväter. And what do you do in a family? Sometimes you call people and sometimes you need to clean up. This is a new type of verb we'll learn. Trust me, German never gets boring. Viel Spaß!

Ever been to a restaurant in a country that’s not your home country? How do I order? Do I tip? How much? Can we pay separately? I guess, most of us have been there. In this episode we will sort out everything you need to know about going to a restaurant in Germany – and you will be able to do it all in German! We start by getting a table or making a reservation, ordering beverages and food and we’ll end by asking for the bill, solving the mystery of tipping in Germany, and everything else that is important when it comes to paying. If you’d rather stay at home and have some nice snacks for this one – I’d totally understand. In this case all I can say is “Guten Appetit!”.

Have you made this experience where you gather all your courage and ask someone for directions in a language that's not your native tongue but you just couldn't understand the reply you got? And all that happend then was that the other person is just speaking louder, almost yelling at you? Well, we've all been there. 

So, in this episode we focus on colloquial German by repeating words from the last two episodes. How would a native speaker ask for directions? And how would they typically answer this question? 

Today, we'll build your level of German up to the point where you can understand - and actually follow! - directions. Your bravery will finally pay off!

Let's continue what we started last time: We will learn more places we can go to with a focus on recreational activities. We combine what we learned about days and times to ask someone else what they are up to, talk about going to a concert or to a restaurant and tell someone about our week in general. In this episode you'll learn heaps of new words, so get ready!

When we're not in quarantine, we've places to go or drive to almost every day - the supermarket, a restaurant, work, uni ... Let's learn how to say this in German! We will also add when we go or drive to a place - this includes the weekday and the time. There will be two dialogues at the end of this episode for you to practice your skills. And since we just had a public holiday in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, let's learn a few words for Easter - Ostern as well.

We're jumping right into a dialogue between a person and a receptionist in this episode. The brief exchange will help us understand the difference between the informal "du" and the formal "Sie" in German. We practice understanding and saying more and more sentences and end up having a whole conversation. At the end of the episode we are able to ask for an appointment via phone call. Los geht's!

"How are you?" - If you want to be able to have casual small talk with someone in German, this episode is for you! You will learn a variety of answers to the question "how are you?", as well as greetings to start a chat in the first place! The best part is: You will learn what German speaking people actually say and not just the standard form that you find in a text book. 

And what would small talk be without the weather...? Correct, something would be missing. This is why it's part of this episode as well!

Welcome to a nice and easy start into our German language journey! Let's start by learning the names of both things and people we see in our everyday life. Next, let's get familiar with the German articles der, die, and das. We will learn the numbers 1-10, and we'll be able to count the things we see around us! By the end of our first class we can answer 'yes/no questions' as well as 'how many...?' questions. But we don't stop here! We will also be able to ask these questions ourselves.
