Episode 78: Taylor (@hellohealthyhellohappy)
On this episode, this week’s guest is Taylor (@hellohealthyhellohappy). I’ve only known Taylor for about the last two months but she’s one of the people I talk to on Instagram on a almost daily basis. She’s a ray of sunshine and is supportive with everyone she comes across. In this episode, we talk a lot about Taylor’s upbringing, how she took on the role of caring for her grandfather, her decision to make her health a priority and her journey to lose over 100 lbs. This conversation is definitely not linear. We make a lot of pit stops on different topics but overall, the conversation was a lot of fun to record. It’s always a good time when I talk to Taylor. I hope you enjoy this wide ranging conversation with Taylor. I connected with Tony back in April after he sent me a DM after hearing my episode of Gormy's (http://www.instagram.com/gormy_goes_keto) Fat Guy Forum podcast and we instantly just starting having conversations off and on for the past few months. I wanted to bring him on the podcast because we instantly connected through our love of music. We talk a lot about music on this episode but I wanted to ultimately constructed a timeline of where Tony's came from, who he is now, and where he wants to go in the future. We talk a lot about his past with music, his ultimate start to his weight loss journey, his mindset, and what he wants to do in the upcoming future. I had a lot of fun talking to Tony. As well as her weight loss, Fatima is a runner, a resident Texan and a lover of food. I wanted to get her on the podcast to discuss her background, her weight loss journey, running and what she has coming up next in her journey. I had a lot of fun getting to know Fatima a little more. On this episode, we talk a lot about her upbringing, her mental health, her weight loss story as well as why she’s an advocate of loving the skin you are in. On this episode, this week’s guest is Andie (@cartwheel_ac). I became aware of Andie after listening to a podcast that she did with my coach, Daryl Perry. You can listen to that episode here. She was saying things that I absolutely believed in and I was completely into the whole episode with a smile on my face. She gets it. She knows the ins and outs of a healthy lifestyle and she's proving it every day.  Andie is a coach, a mom and an all around badass! I was excited to bring her on the podcast and just pick her brain. We talk about a lot of different topics including the origins of Ethan’s own podcast, “Let’s Talk About It” and mental health. I hope you all enjoy this thorough conversation. Episode 49: Kyleigh (@kyleighlosesit)
On this episode, this week’s guest is Kyleigh (@kyleighlosesit). I’ve talked with Kyleigh a few times in DMs before this conversation but something about her always impressed me. She’s worked hard on her weight loss journey and she’s also not afraid of lifting heavy weights in the gym. I was excited to talk to her and figure out what makes her tick. I’m excited for what she has planned in the future and I’m happy to call her a friend! Episode 48: Jamie (@coachjdhill)
On this episode, this week’s guest is Jamie (@coachjdhill). I've known Jamie for several years and we've ran through a lot of the same Internet community circles. Jamie has been on this weight loss journey for several years and is now in the process of having weight loss surgery. This episode is a little different than most. In the episode, I'm talking to Jamie not about just his weight loss efforts thus far but the process of having upcoming weight loss surgery in February. What made him decide to finally pursue the surgery, how he feels about it overall, his process to prepare for the surgery and what he expects from the end result of the surgery. This is part one of a forthcoming second conversation that will take place after Jamie is healed from the weight loss surgery. If you've ever thought of having surgery done for weight loss, listen to Jamie's thought process and hopefully his story can help you with your process as well. On this episode, this week’s guest is Katelynn (@agirlnamedk_). Katelynn came highly recommended through previous guest Kaela (@mckenna__fitness). Katelynn and Kaela have been workout partners for several months now and Katelynn's weight loss journey started in October of 2019. I wanted to know more about Katelynn's background, why she decided to lose weight once and for all, and what drives her to be better. This podcast is only a small portion of a total 3 hour conversation that we had that same night. Katelynn is an inspiration and I hope she inspires you as well. I'm happy to call her a great friend. Please enjoy my conversation with Katelynn. Episode 46: Dan (@bigfatlifepodcast)
On this episode, this week’s guest is Dan (@bigfatlifepodcast). Dan is a podcaster for the show, Big Fat Life Podcast. Dan and his podcast gained a lot of traction in the second half of 2019 and I started hearing about this podcast called "Big Fat Life". I had know clue who Dan was but his name and his podcast kept getting mentioned in several stories of other people that I follow on Instagram. I listened to it and I was really intrigued by how polished the show was. His interview style was to the point and he was a professional at getting people to share their stories of weight loss. After hearing several episodes, I reached out to him to find out his story and just a little more about him. After the conversation, I found that we had a lot more in common than I realized and the conversation was awesome. I hope you guys enjoy my conversation with Dan. On this episode, this week’s guest is Kaftan (@runningkat_o). Kaftan is one of my new friends on Instagram that I've known for a decent amount of time but we've never had a bigger conversation.  We've had many chats about meditation and self development but never a conversation about who she is. I knew she has weight loss surgery almost three years ago and that she is an avid runner but that's where my knowledge stopped. This episode gives you a breakdown of who she is, her journey with weight loss and what's she's all about. I hope you enjoy this great conversation. Episode 43: Christmas Special
On this special Christmas episode, this week’s guests are:  Rachel (@hopefulraeofsunshine), Daryl (@yourlevelfitness) and Amanda (@mutts_and_miles). When I created the Thanksgiving episode, this Christmas episode was already in the back of my mind to create. I asked Daryl and Rachel back for this one but also asked Amanda to join in since I knew how much she loved Christmas. This episode was originally slated to be five people instead of three. But as I started recording these segments, I realized that this episode could have easily been over four hours long. So, I cut it back to just three people. I enjoyed asking Christmas questions to these 3 special people. I hope you guys have a safe and Merry Christmas and I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed creating it. Episode 42: Thanksgiving Special
On this special Thanksgiving episode, this week’s guests are:  Nikki (@bronc787) Daryl (@yourlevelfitness) James (@jamesaaronsimpson) Rachel (@hopefulraeofsunshine) Gary (@garycantrell) Over the past few months, I've been sharing a daily list of 10 things that I'm grateful over on my Instagram stories. But I wanted to try something a little different for the podcast. I had this idea to bring together 5 different people and just ask them questions about gratitude and reflecting on the past 11 months. I was lucky enough to reach out to several people and they accepted this idea as well. This podcast episode was a passion project and I wanted to make something special for the holidays as people are heading out to travel to see loved ones and I wanted to share other people's perspectives when it comes to gratitude as well. I hope you guys have a safe and happy Thanksgiving and I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed creating it. Be sure to subscribe to the podcast to get all future goodness of this show. In just a short amount of time, Kaela has lost 101 pounds and continues to kill it on her fitness journey. She's a machine and her work ethic shows the results that she's earned. I'm always drawn to people who aren't afraid to outwork everywhere. Not in the way of being competitive but in the aspects of being completely driven and Kaela is definitely it! Hazel is an ex-boxing and kickboxing champion, cognitive hypnotherapist as well as the author of the book, "The Mind Monster Solution".
