In this latest episode of our 'Not Just Bop' Podcast, we are thrilled to welcome back previous members of our fantastic Student Officer team, to look back, celebrate and offer guidance, on all these Elections, prior to our nomination window opening for this years Student Union Elections on Monday 23rd January.

Not Just Bop returns for a festive look back at the academic year so far, with Charlotte, Dan and Emily picking out their highlights, before looking forward to some of the exciting projects, campaigns and events in the pipeline for 2023! 

In the latest episode of Not Just Bop, Charlotte, Dan and Emily take a look back over their first month in office here at the Student Union. Before looking forward to the upcoming new year and Freshers Week, and taking themselves back to the months prior to arriving on campus at Winchester, to provide some useful hints and tips for those incoming students this year. 

Getting them straight to work on their first day in office, your new Sabb team of Charlotte (President), Dan (Vice President, Education & Welfare) and Emily (Vice President, Activities & Services) introduce themselves, talk about why they decided to run for office, how they know each other and also highlighting their plans for the year ahead.

On this episode of Not Just Bop, our Representational Networks Assistant Con is joined by the Spectrum committee members, Eddie, Megan and Jet to discuss all things related to LGBT+ History Month, from historical icons to queer media as well as what they think we can do to be better allies.

Beyond time to talk day - In the latest episode of Not just Bop, we are joined by Vice president Education and Welfare, Dan and Vice President Activities Dan, continuing the conversations around mental health, opening up and lad culture beyond Time to Talk day. Taking the themes from discussions on the day, they hosted an open discussion with 3 students Lyndon, Cat and Chloe on their thoughts around opening up and mental health, and how we can keep the open conversations going with proactive and reactive steps going forward.

In the latest episode of Not Just Bop, our Activities Team are joined by guests Charlie and Lauren to discuss LGBTQ+ inclusion in sport. This is part of our wider Rainbow Laces campaign, started by Stonewall to raise awareness and to educate people about the discrimination of LGBTQ+ people in sports. Holly, Dan, and Con examine statistics, prejudices, and experiences on and off the field and as a group the 5 of them discuss what progresses they would like to see made in sports here at Team Winch and beyond.

In the latest episode of Not Just Bop, we are joined by your Vice President, Education Dan and Charlotte, your Student Voice Assistant, for a StARs (Student Academic Rep) Special. Within which, Dan and Charlotte highlight the amazing advances being made within the scheme, look at some of the new elements to it, including the first StARs social next week, before speaking with Kia, a current Student Academic Rep for Primary Education to get a StARs perspective on the scheme.

As we celebrate Black History Month this October, your Student Union President Charis, welcomes Con, our Student Union Representational Networks Assistant and Ola Saliu, the chair of our African-Caribbean Students Network (ACS) to the podcast. Within this special recording, Ola gives an insight into the ACS network, the work they do and their plans for the upcoming year. Before Charis highlights the work the Student Union is undertaking during Black History Month and what we can do to become better allies. 

We also importantly discuss how we, as a Student Union can do more after Black History Month.

Welcome to the first Not Just Bop Podcast of 2021 and Happy New Year!

This latest Podcast covers an update on what has already been a difficult start to the year in the education sector. Meg, Vic and Ellen, highlight the work they have been undertaking this week for the benefit of the student body. This includes a review of the 18-point recommendation document that was submitted to University Senior Management, focusing on key issues such as no detriment policies and rent as we enter Lockdown 3. 

The focus then switches to the challenges of the Sabb roles and discussing the pending elections next month, where we shall be electing a new student officer team for 2021/22.

Welcome back to the 'Not Just Bop' podcast after a brief week away for Arrivals and Freshers week. In today's episode Megan, Vic and Ellen take a look back at Freshers week and the effects of COVID-19 on arriving at University this year, take a look at the latest news and show some love to Student Union's across the land during these difficult and testing times as NUS launch their #LOVESU's campaign.

With just 5 days to go until Arrivals for 2020 begins, the girls take a look at all things Freshers related in this weeks episode. From how the initial few weeks will look, previewing some of the events we are offering this September, along with some useful hints, tips and guidance. 

In this weeks episode, Megan, Vic and Ellen go behind the scenes to address to common Student Union myths! From, 'are the Student Union Elections just a popularity contest?', to, 'is all you do just create arguments!'.  Our 'paid' officers (another myth busted!) give you an insight into such common misconceptions, whilst also keeping you updated on all things 'Student Union' as we rapidly approach the new academic year.

On this weeks 'Welfare Special', we welcome our Student Advisor, Rhian to discuss the fantastic work the Student Union has undertaken within the Welfare Zone over the past year, including the launch of our Advice Centre and how it can support you, whilst answering questions from students regarding accessing support. Megan, Vic and Ellen, then look back at some of the impactful welfare campaigns, that have proved such a success over the past academic year and how they impacted students. A real insight into the work carried out by the Student Union that often goes unnoticed. 

In this weeks episode your SABB team take a look at the latest news such as the recent A'Level results situation this year, before discussing their very different personal transitions between A'Levels and University. To conclude the podcast, we respond to many questions that we received via our Instagram stories last week. Touching on how sports might look this September, our safe delivery of our Freshers Fayre during these COVID times and finally, whether our President is nice or not!
