Anti PR rant from Arry and Dae on their PR initiative on what else is “Next for Arry?”  What is PR anyways?  As an entrepreneur or a person from Startups who wants more awareness for your business, Arry couldn’t really get why she was never happy with PR. Mark Yusko’s Seattle Luncheon Highlights
Aug 1, 2019 S1ep21 - Mark Yusko’s Seattle Luncheon Highlights Dae was inspired to have some fun in the beginning. We aimed for a shorter podcast episode - it ended up being our longest.   Bitcoin update #satoshi math from Dae. Reviewing the current price of bitcoin using the Blockfolio app: At $10,108 at 12:40pm and for #SatoshiMath $1.00 = 8,983 satoshis.   At $10k/bitcoin, you get 10,000 satoshis. Because at $1.00 / 0.00010000 = 10,000 satoshis Mark Yusko did a 1 day trip from North Carolina, extremely impressive.   Mark Yusko is a Washingtonian native, too - from Kirkland, WA. Bitcoin is a new kind of important asset.  We’ve had over 775 different kinds of fiat currencies to date - the first one to do that was China, and only 25% have survived.  1971 is when the United States went off the gold standard - and onto the “dictator playbook” (massive income and wealth gap).  51% of Americans own any stock today, while unemployment rates are really low, not all Americans are doing that well. We’re in a pre-recession era…  When the FED lowers interest rates (the first rate cut in the lifetime of Bitcoin), which is an indication of a weak economy.  Rates were cut at record low rates of unemployment.  The US has printed an extra 10 trillion dollars since 2009 - less global money supply, global trade slows, higher chance of recession, …. But stocks are going up. Dae and Arry will be having another “strategy” session for “Darry”. Dae was recently watching CNBC, and the President has said there will be an increase on all China import tariffs.  Stocks went down. Bitcoin went up.  Mark Yusko was suggesting that people get out of equity markets right now and move into alternative investments.  Is Bitcoin “magic internet money”?  Depends on who you ask.  8% of USD is actually in cash and coins, the rest of it, 92% is digital currency. Bitcoin talk track about how it is the evolution of digital.   Mark Yusko is not a fan of BYND - even though he was an early seed investor into BYND.  Arry recently had Dae/Arry get out of BYND because the numbers were too inflated (revenue/profit versus market cap).   Lots of movie, paper, book recommendations from Mark Yusko. — Tatiana Moroz’s Bitcoin Jingle intermission— 7% of Americans know about Blockchain - an indicator that this is coming out of the unknown.  Arry and Dae also spent another hour and a half one on one with Mark Yusko recording for the upcoming special podcast episode: health and family focus, consumes a lot of content, … Really great turnout at the Cascadia Blockchain Council happy hour on July 31st - great food/drinks!  Looking forward to the next one at the Optimism Brewery - and thank you to the WTIA. Dae has an idea for Bitcoin pizza day and Domino’s pizza - looking for warm introductions! Future guests will be coming! If you’d like to join us for a show, please reach out via twitter! Events coming up: * Check out the Seattle Blockchain Underground on Meetup for a list of upcoming blockchain related events of note! Thank you for listening y’all! Cryptotwitter Curation, Politics, and What's Next for Arry
Cryptotwitter Curation, Politics, and What's Next for Arry s1ep20 - Monday July 29, 2019. Reviewing the current price of bitcoin using the Blockfolio app: At $9,518 at 12:40pm and for #SatoshiMath $1.00 = 10,506 satoshis.   at $10k/bitcoin, you get 10,000 satoshis. Because at $1.00 / 0.00010000 = 10,000 satoshis Dae consumes a lot of content daily - and he’s sharing the highlights, specially curated for you. Cypto Twitter is a thing.  Bitcoin Baby (aka #theQuinoa) is wearing a gold ring from his great-aunt in Seoul, Korea, another SoV (Store of Value).  Recently celebrated the 100 days for #theQuinoa - we recently had a party as with Korean culture.   John DeVaDoss of NEO North America interacted on CryptoTwitter.  Dragonchain sticker is high quality.   Dae is leveling up (or into the Rabbit Hole) further on Austrian economics.  Stephan Livera gets some great guests on his podcast.   Stephan is a old bit coiner and in Austrian economics. SLP52 episode with Jack Dorsey and Elizabeth Stark (recorded 2/17/2019) — check out this podcast episode because it is fascinating, and invigorating (at least for Dae). Dae is saying there’s another bear coming into the market right now.  On Jack Dorsey, FYI $SQ doing well, Twitter stock is doing well.   Hatching Twitter - great book. It was supposed to be made into a movie - but not sure if it ever happened.  After reading this book, Dae had a horrible impression of Jack.  Have to remember there are always 3 sides to any story.   Lolli is focused on getting bitcoin into as many hands as possible - then it’s more stable in currency form. Maybe Arry can see if which of the candidates for Seattle’s City Council will accept bitcoin for donations.  More mentions of Stephan Livera (Austrian economics) and a show with local Seattle Vijay Boyapati (SLP71) another one definitely worth checking out. Arry’s really concerned about safety - especially with Dae and Arry’s personal experiences with acts of violence. Stewardship and safety. Arry is rooting for the wild card, Ari Hoffman.  He’s a nice guy, who’s a father, community, Jewish, resilient, persistent, person, business man, and cares for happiness for children…. And feels he understands the need for safety.  Arry’s thinking about doing more to try and get more experiences (like door belling, hosting an event). Political candidates cannot likely get bitcoin for donations - Arry believes it may be a website and likely a banking issue that would not allow that.   Dae suggests Freakonomics Radio podcast - Episode 356, America’s Hidden Duopoly, which frames the system of conservatives and liberals as a business, not as politics.  It’s a thriving business.   Arry’s exploring venture labs, looking at being a turnaround executive for private equity firms.  Future guests will be coming! If you’d like to join us for a show, please reach out via twitter! Events coming up: * July 31st, WTIA sponsored Cascadia Blockchain Council community happy hour - drinks, food and views. Lolli, North Carolina, Guns and Diversity
Lolli, North Carolina, Guns and Diversity s1ep19 Reviewing the current price of bitcoin using the Coinbase app: on July 25th it was at $9,956 at ~12:40pm with #SatoshiMath $1.00 = 10,044 satoshis. at $10k/bitcoin, you get 10,000 satoshis. Because at $1.00 / 0.00010000 = 10,000 Both Arry and Dae are feeling good. Farewell Dom happy hour went great.   Lolli.com has just signed on Safeway. Safeway is pushing the grocery delivery. Safeway has Coinstar/Coinme partnership and has been exposed to Bitcoin. Shoutout to Coinme team!  2,500 Bitcoin enabled Coinstar ATMs and growing.   Bitcoin and blockchain are very much in the current affairs and public discourse.   Dae’s home state of North Carolina on the radar! North Carolina is representing a lot lately. Just saw a crazy video from @matthewryancase of a guy on the subway. Arry is just dumbfounded. Diversity.  Last recording Arry was talking about local politics (giant spreadsheet is on arryinseattle.com).  Some responses are mad at Arry because their point of view is not captured by Arry’s point of view.  Diversity.  Take ten steps back.... we are all humans. Diversity of thought means we should hang out more often with people that do NOT think like yourself.  Challenge people to seek out opinions that are NOT like your own.  If you are saying “I have never met anyone that is voting like you and so you’re crazy" does not work.  Assume there may be others that think like them.  Pretend Arry is not crazy and do a thought experiment.  What if her (or another person’s) point of view is valid?   Find empathy.   Arry talks about guns.  She is afraid of them. She doesn’t say that anyone with a gun is evil.  She originally wanted to know how to turn a gun off, find an on or off switch.   Arry learned about the Libertarian group proactively, through Tatiana.  She spent a little time exploring their points of view.  Seek out understanding where the other person is coming from.  This is how we get to a better society. Look at “The Law”. "The Law" was originally published as a pamphlet in 1850 by Frederic Bastiat (1801-1850). Mormans.  Dae and Arry talk about their individual experiences with Mormans. WE ARE ALL MORE ALIKE THAN DIFFERENT. Civil discourse should be about learning and experiencing, together.  Have more empathy for each other.  Let’s unite on a foundational point of view.  Think more as “we”.   Go to your centers of community and see others face-to-face.   And just because i disagree with you, it doesn’t mean I hate you. Put the topic of discussion into a soccer ball, figuratively speaking, and kick it back and forth as you discuss together.   Do thought experiments. Do not try to put the soccer ball inside the other person. It doesn’t feel good. Future guests will be coming! If you’d like to join us for a show, please reach out via twitter! Event coming up: * July 31st, WTIA sponsored Cascadia Blockchain Council community happy hour - drinks, food and views. Thank you for listening y’all! Ray Dalio Report, Poopcoin, and Local Politics
Ray Dalio Report, Poopcoin, and Local Politics s1ep18 Reviewing the current price of bitcoin using the Coinbase app: At $10,280 at 3:40pm and for #SatoshiMath $1.00 = 9,727 satoshis. at $10k/bitcoin, you get 10,000 satoshis. Because at $1.00 / 0.00010000 = 10,000 satoshis Ray Dalio report, all giant 13 pages - 1920 to 2019 of economics history is that people should buy Gold or other like assets (stores of value) in times of economic turmoil and paradigm shifts.  Evolution of digital paradigm shifts going on.  Travis Kling (of Ikegai Fund) talks about speculation saying that he thinks Ray PROBABLY has Bitcoin somewhere.  We don't know. Comments on the last episode - we were very frustrated and angst ridden.  It wasn't pleasant. We put in some outtakes at the end of us arguing.  We should really have taken a real break. Dae also comments on Matt Case and Mike Hansen production of a video making fun as Russian "poop"-coin, because the now the term "shitcoin" is in the vernacular of the world that's widely accepted and known for any cryptocurrency that's outside of Bitcoin. Dae songs a song in Korean live.  Arry joins for the chorus.  Dae is motivated to try and get South Korea up higher in the analytics in the podcast analytics.  It’s a song that Dae sings often with their toddler, “Lentil”.  Quick translation on “bbo-bbo-bbo” means kiss, kiss, kiss, and “ching-goo” means friend.   Also FYI that South Korea is one of the biggest cryptocurrency regions globally. Bitcoin Jingle from Tatiana Moroz interlude. Dae loves this song.   Arry’s politics spreadsheet going through and consolidating all of the voting guides and endorsements...  various levy’s, the Port Commissioner positions, and the City of Seattle City Council positions #1-7.  Check out Arry’s blog or her social channels to check out her big spreadsheet.  We want Seattle to thrive and prosper, advance their lives - spend a few minutes to think independently about what’s important to you and our communities. Big Bitcoin Politics, Anxiety and Fundraising Tips
s1ep17 Big Bitcoin Politics, Anxiety and Fundraising Tips Arry intro. Dae intro. Reviewing the current price of bitcoin using the Coinbase app: At $10,703 at 4:40pm and for #SatoshiMath $1.00 = 9,343 satoshis. at $10k/bitcoin, you get 10,000 satoshis. Because at $1.00 / 0.00010000 = 10,000 satoshis Both Arry and Dae feeling anxious and frustrated in this recording.  Arry just had her therapy session and it left her feeling extra anxious. Bitcoin is now legal.  Hasn’t it always been legal? Bitcoin Jingle from Tatiana Moroz has been playing nonstop for Arry and Dae.  Dae inspired to setup the house with more audio. We are “news’ed” out.  Facebook and crypto is misleading.   Arry’s extra anxiousness from therapy bleeds into the room and the recording and into Dae.  Yes, this is marriage.   Dae is extra frustrated too.  So the rest of the recording is with Dae and Arry in an anxious, frustrated state. A extremely big financial news week. Steve Mnuchin Jerome Powell David Marcus visits the U.S. Senate David Marcus visits the U.S. House of Representatives Meltem Demoirs visits the U.S. House of Representatives Meltem Demoirs visits CNBC Fast Money Dae gives highlights of the testimony hearing.  Defining not-unfavorable comments given by the treasury secretary.  Not Un-favorable does not mean positive.  Interesting and intentional word choice.   Fed-Chair Jerome “Jay" Powell gave interesting comments that said Bitcoin is the equivalent of digital gold and speculative digital asset. Facts. Bitcoin is not illegal. In the national discussion. David Marcus in front of the Senate with testimonials.  Check out Dae’s tweet storm to Molly Wood and Kai Risdal.  The most appropriate legitimate answer should have been “I don’t know”.  David had a tough job in giving direct answers despite all of the nuance.  Is the data going to be separate from Facebook?  Stock for Facebook went up even with a $5billion fine for the days breaches because of the certainty that it gave.   Most people and companies are not strict enough with their data privacy and security.  Dae is very skeptical about this topic. Meltem Demirors wore a white jacket and gave an eloquent testimonial about Bitcoin and this whole sector. CNBC of Melissa Lee interviewed Meltem.   Arry’s Startup Tip on fundraising seasons that’s about to kick up into gear in a month. Fundraising is like sales - it’s about relationships.  Do I want to invest is a question about work ethic, consistency, reliability.  It’s also about do I want to be in business with this person?  Follow through and be accountable.  Be on time and prepared.  Earn trust in every action.   Dae got some new shiny #schwag that he’s really excited about from Bridge Protocol.  A nice shot glass. Future guests will be coming! If you’d like to join us for a show, please reach out! Mnuchin, Conflict, Gold vs Bullets, PTSD
s1ep10 Mnuchin, Conflict, Gold vs Bullets, PTSD Maybe we want to be the gateway for the next million family folks into the world of bitcoin.  Because this space can be very intimidating. There are a ton of subjects that have to be considered before you are comfortable with the idea of bitcoin. Reviewing the current price of bitcoin using the Coinbase app. At $10,800 at 3:16pm you get 9259 satoshis. Bitcoin is now legal.  Hasn’t it always been legal? Conflict is business; is commerce; is war. Conflict generates economic activity. The link to the Caitlin Long article: https://cryptoslate.com/caitlin-long-blockchains-ambassador-of-hope-notes-from-a-regtech-conference-keynote/ Coinbase. They have raised 10 rounds of funding totaling over $500 million US dollars!  They have a giant war chest. wow! Dae’s dear college friend is in town and coming over for dinner.  He’s thinking about buying gold coins in preparation for the end of the world. Actually, some Bitcoin OG’s also buy some gold to balance their portfolio. Buying bullets instead of gold is Dae’s idea right now. Ammo is a commodity.  You could trade it for water after all, and hope the person you trade with doesn’t come back to shoot you with the bullets you just sold to him. Arry talking about what recovery has been like with our second baby, the hardships of postpartum depression (PPD) from the first pregnancy, and working through trauma and PTSD with her therapy.  She’s starting to finally no longer be afraid and hiding in the closet.  Therapy is really helpful - and in progressing through career and leadership, it’s important to work through trauma and triggers so you don’t bring that negative experiences with you in order to move forward.  It’s also important to recognize that I am not the result of trauma, that I am not a victim of those negative experiences, and I am my own person.  So ARRY is taking the time to do that. Arry’s draft of her LIFE ONE-PAGER is due by the end of July 2019. It’s going to be a stretch. Check out ‘Without Fail’ podcast. The July 8th episode w/ Jerry Colonna. The Sacred Child Inside Every Leader. https://gimletmedia.com/shows/without-fail/emh2k6 Pathwise Leadership Development is amazing tool for personal growth. Introductions of Dae and Arry (we're working on it!). 10 cyber security tips and tricks like: Do NOT click on or open hyperlinks in email.
