Carey Baldwin & THE WIDOW BRIDE With Pamela Fagan Hutchins On Crime And Wine

Carey Baldwin & THE WIDOW BRIDE With Pamela Fagan Hutchins On Crime And Wine

Carey Baldwin chats about her new release THE WIDOW BRIDE with Pamela Fagan Hutchins on Crime and Wine.
About THE WIDOW BRIDE:
As I look down to the beautiful arch set up on the beach for our wedding, I have to stop myself running into Blake’s arms. He’s been the only light in the darkness of my grief. I’m sure I’m making the right decision… aren’t I?
When Blake insisted we keep our elopement a secret, I agreed. But, now, it feels wrong to walk down the aisle between empty chairs.
My first husband’s last words to me echo in my head. “Find someone who loves you as much as I do when I’m gone.” I never thought I could do as he asked. Until I met Blake. He’s the only one who truly understands what I’ve been through, soothing my pain by showering me with gifts and affection. So why do I feel so uneasy?
As I step in front of my husband-to-be, I think back to my last conversation with my first husband’s sister. Should I have listened when she tried to tell me about Blake’s past?
Maybe it’s just wedding day nerves… But as Blake puts the ring on my finger, I can’t tell if it’s excitement or fear as a shiver runs down my spine when he says, “Finally, you’re mine.”
Then I remember my sister-in-law’s warning. But it’s too late to turn back now.
Marrying him is the only option because I have secrets of my own.
Blake may think he knows me, but he has no idea who he’s really dealing with…
A completely gripping psychological thriller which will have you reading late into the night until you reach the final shocking twist. Perfect for fans of Gone Girl, The Wife Between Us and The Perfect Marriage.

K C Walker & OLD FASHIONED MURDER With Pamela Fagan Hutchins On Crime And Wine

K C Walker & OLD FASHIONED MURDER With Pamela Fagan Hutchins On Crime And Wine

Karen Sue Walker - author writing as KC Walker talks about OLD FASHIONED MURDER and the Arrow Investigations Mysteries with Pamela Fagan Hutchins on Crime & Wine.

About OLD FASHIONED MURDER
"Funny clever murder mystery!" - Amazon Reviewer
"A fun and wacky read!" - Goodreads Reviewer

Whitley “Whit” Leland is an out-of-work stuntwoman with an attitude. Stuck in a sleepy mountain village with her wannabe PI grandmother, Bobbie, she’s content to spend her time eating flaky pastries, mixing cocktails, and chasing after her wayward rescue dog.

She also needs to keep her grandmother out of trouble, which is harder than she expects. Between rehearsals with the Ukulele Ladies, Bobbie investigates a series of seemingly unrelated accidents targeting local musicians. Whit enjoys teasing Bobbie about her true crime obsession--after all, who would go to such lengths just to win a small-town music competition?

Whit gets her answer when she finds one of the Ukulele Ladies dead. Is Bobbie next on the hit list? Whit will have to use her smarts and her skills to track down the murderer before they know she’s onto them.
Can Whit, her grandmother, and their rogue chihuahua find the murderer before someone else turns up dead?

About K.C. Walker
KC Walker does her best to avoid meaningful employment. This often conflicts with her desire for the finer things in life, such as food and shelter. Writing novels seemed to be an acceptable compromise, since making up stories can hardly be called work.

One day, KC took a look at her rescue dog and thought, "Why isn't this freeloader contributing to the household coffers?" Soon, the idea of a snarky yet (hopefully) lovable stuntwoman named Whit and her tiny demon dog came to mind and the first story began to form.

S.W. Hubbard & UNHOLY TREASURE With Pamela Fagan Hutchins On Crime & Wine

S.W. Hubbard & UNHOLY TREASURE With Pamela Fagan Hutchins On Crime & Wine

S.W. Hubbard Author chats about UNHOLY TREASURE and her very beloved and successful Palmyrton Estate Sale Mystery Series with Pamela Fagan Hutchins on Crime & Wine. Warning: this conversation likely to go off tracks about dogs and hiking. Sorry, not sorry.
UNHOLY TREASURE
A holy relic of the past unleashes a deadly passion in the present.
When estate sale organizer Audrey Nealon runs a small sale in conjunction with a larger one, she's stunned to learn a small knick-knack Ty sold at the sale for five bucks has been resold anonymously at Christie’s auction house for half a million dollars. The little house-shaped object turns out to be a medieval reliquary, purported to hold a fragment of the bone of the Saint Benedict.
With her client furious at the costly error, Audrey must discover how this precious reliquary turned up in a suburban New Jersey estate sale. Is Ty’s hunt for the vandal a distraction, or is it linked to the mystery of the reliquary?
Others are equally intent on finding the person who profited from the sale of the reliquary. As the forces of sin, faith, and devotion battle, Saint Benedict might not be the only one who is martyred.
MEET SUSAN
My addiction to mysteries followed a familiar trajectory. Innocent dabbling with the Bobbsey Twins and Nancy Drew led to a craving for stronger stuff—Christie, Conan Doyle, Poe—so that by the age of twelve I had a habit that couldn’t be broken. Here’s what makes a great mystery for me: plot twists that I didn’t see coming, characters like real people I know, motivations that make sense, and a touch of humor. Those are the kinds of mysteries I like to read, so that’s the kind of mystery I write!
My first mystery novel was published way back in 2003, and I’ve been writing mystery novels ever since. In 2019, I expanded into women’s fiction, a genre that I also enjoy reading.
I live in Morristown, NJ with my husband, Kevin, and my dog, Libby. All three of us are avid hikers.

About THE CUSTODY BATTLE:

“What’s going to happen to me?” my little girl asks, clutching her teddy bear tight. “Daddy and I love you,” I reply. “Nothing is going to change.” But I was so wrong. How far will I have to go to keep my darling daughter?

When Greg and I first decided to separate, we promised to keep it civil for our daughter Lola. So when she stopped wanting to hug me, I thought Lola was just struggling with the divorce. Then she started screaming at me, calling me a liar, and I could hear Greg in her words. I’m certain he’s trying to turn our baby against me.

He’s determined to dig up dirt on me, to make the court think I’m a terrible mother… But two can play that game.

So when he reveals the worst thing I have ever done, my heart pounds in my chest. Because I know Greg’s deep dark secrets, too. But the more we each try to win, the harder it is to turn back. Now I’m terrified that we’ve put Lola in terrible danger…

A completely gripping dark domestic suspense novel about a family tearing themselves apart, perfect for fans of Liane Moriarty and Sally Hepworth.

Follow along as the kind and generous people of Westbury tackle life’s problems together.
About Barbara Hinske:
USA Today Bestselling Author
Barbara Hinske is an attorney who recently left the practice of law to pursue her career as a full-time novelist. She inherited the fiction gene from her father who wrote mysteries when he retired and told her a story every night of her childhood. Barbara is the bestselling author of the beloved Rosemont series, the Guiding Emily series, her sweet Christmas stories, and the mystery, thriller, and suspense novels in her "Who's There?" collection.
She and her husband share their own Rosemont with two adorable and spoiled dogs. She is besotted with decorating, entertaining, cooking and gardening. Now that her novel The Christmas Club has been made into a Hallmark Channel movie, she is completely star-struck and thrilled to have her work on the screen.
Praise for Coming to Rosemont:
"In a category that doesn't often feature felonious crimes as a main plot point, it's somewhat surprising to see this title -- with corruption, fraud, and arson coursing through the story -- in a list of top performers. But with enough twists and turns to hook any reader's attention, an adorable dog on the cover, and some classic women's fiction tropes, Coming To Rosemont delivered more than enough firepower to win over our readers!" BookBub's Best: Women's Fiction (#4)
"In this series opener, Hinske immerses readers in a delightful small town....The joys of the tale come from the warm relationships and the story of a woman getting a second chance at life and love." Publishers Weekly (BookLife)

Roger Stelljes & THE SNOW GRAVES with Pamela Fagan Hutchins on Crime & Wine

Roger Stelljes & THE SNOW GRAVES with Pamela Fagan Hutchins on Crime & Wine

Roger Stelljes discusses his 5th Tori Hunter thriller, THE SNOW GRAVES, and much more with Pamela Fagan Hutchins, on Crime & Wine.

About Roger Stelljes:

A proud native of Minnesota and a voracious reader of novels, Roger is also an avid sports fan, particularly of the Minnesota Golden Gopher hockey team as well as the Minnesota Twins, Vikings and the Wild. If you can't find him at a game, you might find him on one of Minnesota's lakes, golf courses, or at a local hockey rink. He became a fan of Michael Crichton, David Baldacci, W.E.B. Griffin, Robert Ludlum, James Patterson, Michael Connelly, Tami Hoag, John Sandford and Vince Flynn. All of them in one way, shape or form have influenced his writing.

About THE SNOW GRAVES:

The young couple lies still on the snow-covered sidewalk, their gloved hands tightly linked as though they could save each other. But flashing blue lights illuminate the quiet street, and drops of blood scatter the pure white ground…

Agent Tori Hunter is heartbroken at the murders of Cam and Gracie, two college students dating for just a few months, shot dead outside his aunt’s home. With witnesses in this once-peaceful neighborhood saying they saw a black car speed away, Tori is desperately tracking it down when a nine-year-old girl is found sitting alone on a park bench, refusing to speak. No-one in this small community knows who she is… is she somehow linked to the murders?

Visiting little Alisha as she huddles in her pink coat, Tori quickly realises she is deaf. As her hands move in sign language Tori makes out her message: We had to run from the lady in the black car. I want to go home.

Did Alisha witness Cam and Gracie’s killer? Tori is racing to follow her directions to a lonely cabin deep in the pine forest when she gets an anonymous call from a female voice that makes her blood run cold. “Hello, Tori. To keep Alisha safe you need to do exactly as I say…”

Is Tori speaking to the killer, or is putting her trust in this mysterious woman her one hope of catching the true perpetrator? As more phone calls come, it’s clear the voice knows all about a cold case from Tori’s past—and that Tori must confront this twisted mind, and her own darkest demons before more innocent lives are lost.

An absolutely unputdownable read that will have you gasping at the twists and turns. Perfect for fans of Robert Dugoni, Gregg Olsen and Melinda Leigh.

Freida McFadden & THE HOUSEMAID'S SECRET with Pamela Fagan Hutchins on Crime & Wine

Join Pamela for a very funny chat with the woman who took two books to the top of both the Amazon and Wall Street Journal charts with the release of THE HOUSEMAID'S SECRET, Freida McFadden.

About Freida:

#1 Amazon, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Publisher's Weekly bestselling author Freida McFadden is a practicing physician specializing in brain injury who has penned multiple bestselling psychological thrillers and medical humor novels. Freida’s work has been selected as one of Amazon Editors’ best books of the year and she has been a Goodreads Choice Award nominee. Her novels have been translated into over 30 languages.

Freida lives with her family and black cat in a centuries-old three-story home overlooking the ocean, with staircases that creak and moan with each step, and nobody could hear you if you scream. Unless you scream really loudly, maybe.

About THE HOUSEMAID'S SECRET:

“Don’t go in the guest bedroom.” A shadow falls on Douglas Garrick’s face as he touches the door with his fingertips. “My wife… she’s very ill.”

As he continues showing me their incredible penthouse apartment, I have a terrible feeling about the woman behind closed doors. But I can’t risk losing this job—not if I want to keep my darkest secret safe…  It’s hard to find an employer who doesn’t ask too many questions about my past.

So I thank my lucky stars that the Garricks miraculously give me a job, cleaning their stunning penthouse with views across the city and preparing fancy meals in their shiny kitchen. I can work here for a while, stay quiet until I get what I want.  It’s almost perfect.

But I still haven’t met Mrs Garrick, or seen inside the guest bedroom. I’m sure I hear her crying. I notice spots of blood around the neck of her white nightgowns when I’m doing laundry. And one day I can’t help but knock on the door. When it gently swings open, what I see inside changes everything…  That’s when I make a promise. After all, I’ve done this before. I can protect Mrs Garrick while keeping my own secrets locked up safe.

Douglas Garrick has done wrong. He is going to pay. It’s simply a question of how far I’m willing to go…

This absolutely explosive and shockingly twisty sequel to international bestseller The Housemaid will keep you racing through the pages late into the night. Anyone who loves The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose, The Woman in the Window and Gone Girl will be totally hooked! This book can also be enjoyed as a standalone.

About THEIR RESTING PLACE

Out in the field the tall stalks sway in the breeze, hiding a girl lying on the ground as if asleep. But she doesn’t stir when rain falls from the gray sky and lands on her soft cheeks. Her beautiful dark eyes stare up, unseeing, as her blood mingles with the rich brown earth.

When a member of Detective Casey White’s team turns up at her door begging for help, Casey races to find the broken body of twenty-year-old Charlie Robson abandoned in a sunflower field. Yellow petals and broken stalks scatter the ground—and Casey immediately recognizes the red markings all over Charlie’s body as arrow wounds. Heartbroken, Casey vows to find the monster who would hunt Charlie down like this.
Interviewing Charlie’s distraught mother, Casey’s blood turns to ice when she learns about a tightknit group of Charlie’s best friends who once called themselves The Sunflower Girls. They met in archery club and have drifted apart since high school. Casey knows the killer is sending a message with arrows… could the other girls be next?

But as Casey instructs her colleagues to track down the five remaining friends, another girl’s body is found, shot with arrows in her own home. Clutched in her hand is a broken sunflower petal. Turning the house upside down Casey finds a bone-chilling, one-word note: Guilty.

Someone is picking off The Sunflower Girls one by one. But why? Interviewing the four remaining girls, Casey is certain they are hiding a dark secret that stretches back to their school days. Trusting no-one, Casey will have to risk everything to track down a deadly killer… but with her own team keeping secrets too, could the real danger be much closer to home?

Jennifer Chase & THE ROSE GIRLS with Pamela Fagan Hutchins on Crime & Wine

Jennifer Chase & THE ROSE GIRLS with Pamela Fagan Hutchins on Crime & Wine

Join Pamela Fagan Hutchins in a chat with Jennifer Chase about THE ROSE GIRLS, her latest Detective Katie Scott crime thriller.

Like a precious doll, the girl leans against the towering pine tree with her long bare legs stretched out and her hands folded neatly in her lap. Her head tilts towards the sky, but this innocent child will never feel the warm glow of morning sun again; her fragile little body is cold, her tender heart is still.

When Detective Katie Scott receives a plea from neighboring Coldwater Creek to help with a tragic murder, she doesn’t hesitate. Fifteen-year-old Ivy Miller’s naked body was found tied to a tree, a freshly inked pink rose tattoo on her arm. The word “MORE” carved into her back means sweet Ivy could be the first of many…

Katie’s heart aches for the young girl whose life ended before it had even begun. But she has her work cut out with the inexperienced police department fumbling the case at every turn. There hasn’t been a murder in this small town for as long as anyone can remember, but why will none of the locals cooperate?

Katie’s only lead is a blurry photograph of Ivy’s long-missing mother found in Ivy’s bedroom. If she can find out where it was taken, Katie knows she’ll have the first clue in a mystery that has been haunting Coldwater Creek for years.

But Katie’s world crashes down when Ivy’s two best friends are found murdered in the same woods days later. Inked with the same pretty flower, the rose girls were keeping a deadly secret. Katie will never forgive herself for not making the connection in time.

As mothers cling to their daughters, terrified to let them out of their sight, Katie’s search leads her to an abandoned building deep in the forest where the last photo of Ivy’s mother was taken. But will she survive long enough to stop more heart-shattering tragedies?

A totally nail-biting, keep-you-up-all-night crime thriller from a USA Today and Amazon bestselling author. Prepare to pick your jaw up from the floor at that final twist! Fans of Lisa Regan, Rachel Caine and Melinda Leigh will be absolutely gripped!

Shannon Hollinger & BEST FRIENDS FOREVER with Pamela Fagan Hutchins on Crime & Wine

Shannon Hollinger & BEST FRIENDS FOREVER with Pamela Fagan Hutchins on Crime & Wine

Pamela Fagan Hutchins chats with Shannon Hollinger, Author about new release BEST FRIENDS FOREVER as well as the super creepy secret career goal Shannon has, the best happy hour drink, characters who misbehave, and much more!

With degrees in Crime Scene Technology & Physical Anthropology, Florida author Shannon Hollinger hasn't just seen the dark side of humanity - she's been elbow deep inside of it! She finds writing to be a much cleaner way to spend her time than the autopsy suite. Most days it smells better, too.

An excerpt from BEST FRIENDS FOREVER:

I emerge from the trees, drenched in sweat, my voice lost as I take in the scene in front of me. The blood. The body. Emma’s eyes meet mine for a second. “It was an accident,” she whispers.

Emma and I were childhood best friends. We did everything together. Until that terrible night in the woods.

I couldn’t tell anyone what I’d seen. We never discussed it, but our bond was too strong; I could never betray my best friend. Even if she had killed someone.

But I also couldn’t stay in town and watch her live a normal life, knowing what she’d done. So I left.

Now, ten years later, I’m back. The guilt and the fear have stayed with me. And I have realized I need to reveal the truth if I’m ever going to move on.

But I never get the chance. Because the day I turn up, Emma is found dead, and the way she died means I start to doubt everything I thought I knew about that night all those years ago.

As my grief turns to anger at all those lost years of friendship, I realise with horror that Emma might not have been the only killer. Someone else is out there. Someone who was close to us both, someone who knew the smallest details of what had happened back then. Who from our small town could have murdered not once, but twice? And who’s next…?

An utterly gripping and compelling psychological thriller with twists and turns to die for. If you love Karin Slaughter, Paula Hawkins and Freida McFadden, you’ll love Best Friends Forever.

Jaye Viner lives on what used to be the plains of eastern Nebraska with two feline fur bombs and a very tall man. Her writing has been published in Drabblecast, Brevity, and Everyday Fiction. Jane of Battery Park, is her first (published) novel. Find her on Twitter @JayeViner or Instagram @Jaye_Viner

JANE OF BATTERY PARK

Jane is a Los Angeles nurse who grew up in a Christian cult that puts celebrities on trial for their sins.

Daniel is a has-been actor whose career ended when the cult family members nearly killed him for flirting with her.

Eight years after a romantic meet-cute in Battery Park, both search for someone to fill the gap they imagine the other could've filled if given the chance. Jane compulsively goes on dates with every self-professed expert in art, music, and food hoping they will teach her the nuances of the culture she couldn't access in her youth. Daniel looks for a girlfriend who will accept the disabilities left from the cult attack. A loving woman will prove to Daniel's blockbuster star brother, Steve, that he's capable of a supporting role in Steve's upcoming movie and relaunching Daniel's career.

When a chance encounter unexpectedly reunites them, Jane and Daniel not only see another chance at the love they lost, but an opportunity to create the lives they've always wanted. The only question is whether their families will let them.

Cherie Priest & GRAVE RESERVATIONS on Wine Women & Writing with Pamela Fagan Hutchins

Cherie Priest & GRAVE RESERVATIONS on Wine Women & Writing with Pamela Fagan Hutchins

Join the chat as the very funny Cherie Priest visits Wine Women & Writing with Pamela Fagan Hutchins to discuss her new release, GRAVE RESERVATIONS, along with dogs, cats, and comfort TV.

A psychic travel agent and a Seattle PD detective solve a murder in this quirky mystery in the vein of Lisa Lutz’s The Spellman Files and Charlaine Harris’s Aurora Teagarden series.

About Cherie:

I write novels. I mean, I do other things too – but the books are probably the reason you’re reading this. So here goes.

To date, I’ve had 24 full-length projects published. My most recent books are The Toll, The Agony House, and The Family Plot. My best-known book is probably Boneshaker (2009) – which was nominated for a Nebula Award and a Hugo Award. Boneshaker also won the PNBA Award, as well as the Locus Award for Best Science Fiction Novel.

On a more personal note – in 2006 I moved from Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Seattle, Washington. Then in 2012, I moved back to Tennessee. In 2017, I moved back to Seattle – where I live at present with my husband, two dogs, and a very large cat we call the House Yeti.

It’s kind of a long story.

I was born in Tampa, Florida, on the day Jimmy Hoffa disappeared. I’m inordinately fond of zombies, trashy goth music, and cheap red wine. I have a phobic aversion to unfinished ceramics, an allergy to yellow dye #7, and a morbid fear of sloths.

For further stats, check my Wikipedia entry. It’s mostly correct, though often at least partially wrong – and routinely out of date. Wikipedia won’t let me fix anything, even my occupations, publications, or graduation years. Apparently I’m not qualified to address such matters of hearsay.

GRAVE RESERVATIONS:

Meet Leda Foley: devoted friend, struggling travel agent, and inconsistent psychic. When Leda, sole proprietor of Foley's Flights of Fancy, impulsively re-books Seattle PD detective Grady Merritt’s flight, her life changes in ways she couldn’t have predicted.

After watching his original plane blow up from the safety of the airport, Grady realizes that Leda’s special abilities could help him with a cold case he just can’t crack.

Despite her scattershot premonitions, she agrees for a secret reason: her fiancé’s murder remains unsolved. Leda’s psychic abilities couldn’t help the case several years before, but she’s been honing her skills and drawing a crowd at her favorite bar’s open-mic nights, where she performs Klairvoyant Karaoke—singing whatever song comes to mind when she holds people’s personal effects.

Now joined by a rag-tag group of bar patrons and pals alike, Leda and Grady set out to catch a killer—and learn how the two cases that haunt them have more in common than they ever suspected.

ME Browning & MERCY CREEK (Part 2: Micki says, Pamela says) on Wine Women & Writing

Join Pamela Fagan Hutchins for Part 2 of a hilarious "Micki says, Pamela says" segment in her chat with ME "Micki" Browning, author of the Jo Wyatt series and new release MERCY CREEK, as the two Mountain West mystery writers go head to head on "Confidential Never Asked Questions."

M.E. BROWNING writes the Jo Wyatt Mysteries. The first in the series, Shadow Ridge, won the Colorado Book Award for Mystery and the silver medal in the popular fiction category of the Florida Book Awards. The adventures continue in Mercy Creek, which launches in October 2021. Writing as Micki Browning, she penned the Agatha-nominated and award-winning Mer Cavallo mysteries, Adrift and Beached, and her short stories and nonfiction have appeared in anthologies, textbooks, diving and mystery magazines. Micki’s novels draw on her twenty-two years of experience in law enforcement. An FBI National Academy graduate, she retired as a captain before turning to a life of crime…fiction.  Visit http://mebrowning.com to learn more.

MERCY CREEK:

In an idyllic Colorado town, a young girl goes missing—and the trail leads into the heart and mind of a remorseless killer.

The late summer heat in Echo Valley, Colorado turns lush greenery into a tinder dry landscape. When a young girl mysteriously disappears, long buried grudges rekindle. Of the two Flores girls, Marisa was the one people pegged for trouble. Her younger sister, Lena, was the quiet daughter, dutiful and diligent—right until the moment she vanished.

Detective Jo Wyatt is convinced the eleven-year-old girl didn’t run away and that a more sinister reason lurks behind her disappearance.  For Jo, the case is personal, reaching far back into her past.  But as she mines Lena’s fractured family life, she unearths a cache of secrets and half-lies that paints a darker picture.

As the evidence mounts, so do the suspects, and when a witness steps forward with a shocking new revelation, Jo is forced to confront her doubts, and her worst fears. Now, it's just a matter of time before the truth is revealed—or the killer makes another deadly move.

Marcie Maxfield & EM'S AWFUL GOOD FORTUNE on Wine Women & Writing with Pamela Fagan Hutchins

Marcie Maxfield & EM'S AWFUL GOOD FORTUNE on Wine Women & Writing with Pamela Fagan Hutchins

Join Pamela Fagan Hutchins in conversation on Wine Women & Writing with Marcie Maxfield about her novel, EM'S AWFUL GOOD FORTUNE—with cameos by their French bulldog and Boston terrier!

Marcie Maxfield’s voice is fierce, authentic, and personal. Her debut novel, Em’s Awful Good Fortune, is based on her experiences living overseas as a tagalong wife. Her play Girls Together Always—a collection of coming-of-age stories about “growing up girl”—won the ENCORE! Producer’s Award at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Maxfield lives in Los Angeles where she volunteers for WriteGirl, a non-profit organization that mentors underserved youth through creative writing. She is married with two kids, a French bulldog, and two rescue cats named Hunky and Dory. Marcie is available for readings and book clubs.

ABOUT EM'S AWFUL GOOD FORTUNE:

Part dysfunctional marriage, part global romp, this is not your typical expat story. Em’s Awful Good Fortune is a deeply personal, marriage coming-apart-at-the-seams look at the struggle between a woman’s desire for partnership and her need for identity. Fueled by twin demons, love and rage, Em stomps her way around the world coming to terms with the fantasy of having it all: husband, kids, and a career. Em is not just married; it’s more like being handcuffed to her husband’s international career. Her life reads like a fantasy, bouncing between Los Angeles, Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Seoul. But—the good fortune is all her husband’s: Em is just the tagalong wife.

Maxfield’s compelling, non-linear story explores the expatriate lifestyle through the lens of a crumbling marriage, while at the same time tracing the lasting impact of sexual assault and PTSD. Em’s journey exposes the dark corners of this seemingly privileged world: loneliness, depression, infidelity, and loss of career. An empowering, uncomfortably funny narrative about compromise that every woman should read. As Em begins to value her needs before those of her husband’s career, she stops letting herself be dragged along for the ride—and ultimately emerges triumphant.

Things seem to be looking up, thanks to a godsent job with her sister’s housecleaning business—until she encounters a seemingly harmless paperback that insists on moving from one client’s home to another’s. Nicole hopes no one will notice, but the action stirs up long-hidden secrets and triggers a series of fateful events that threatens to destroy the life she’s creating and hurt those closest to her. Sandra Brown & BLIND TIGER on Wine Women & Writing

Sandra Brown & BLIND TIGER on Wine Women & Writing

Join Sandra Brown in conversation with Pamela Fagan Hutchins on this episode of Wine Women & Writing as the two authors discuss Sandra's historical fiction release BLIND TIGER, 1920 as the mirror image of 2020, characters that hijack books, great female villains, and much more.

About Sandra Brown:

Sandra Brown is the author of more than sixty New York Times bestsellers, including STING (2016), FRICTION (2015), MEAN STREAK (2014), DEADLINE (2013), LOW PRESSURE (2012), LETHAL (2011), and the critically acclaimed RAINWATER (2010).

Brown began her writing career in 1981 and since then has published over seventy novels, bringing the number of copies of her books in print worldwide to upwards of eighty million. Her work has been translated into thirty-three languages.

Brown recently was given an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Texas Christian University. She was named Thriller Master for 2008, the top award given by the International Thriller Writer's Association. Other awards and commendations include the 2007 Texas Medal of Arts Award for Literature and the Romance Writers of America's Lifetime Achievement Award.

About BLIND TIGER:

With a “knack for romantic tension and page-turning suspense, this one is a winner.” The year 1920 comes in with a roar in this rousing and suspenseful New York Times bestselling novel by Sandra Brown. Prohibition is the new law of the land, but murder, mayhem, lust, and greed are already institutions in the Moonshine Capitol of Texas (Booklist, starred review).

Thatcher Hutton, a war-weary soldier on the way back to his cowboy life, jumps from a moving freight train to avoid trouble . . . and lands in more than he bargained for. On the day he arrives in Foley, Texas, a local woman goes missing. Thatcher, the only stranger in town, is suspected of her abduction, and worse. Standing between him and exoneration are a corrupt mayor, a crooked sheriff, a notorious cathouse madam, a sly bootlegger, feuding moonshiners . . . and a young widow whose soft features conceal an iron will.

What was supposed to be a fresh start for Laurel Plummer turns to tragedy. Left destitute but determined to dictate her own future, Laurel plunges into the lucrative regional industry, much to the dislike of the good ol’ boys, who have ruled supreme. Her success quickly makes her a target for cutthroat competitors, whose only code of law is reprisal. As violence erupts, Laurel and—now deputy—Thatcher find themselves on opposite sides of a moonshine war, where blood flows as freely as whiskey.

About SIGN OF EVIL:

“Yesterday morning, I sat down to read Sign of Evil by T. J. Brearton. Only an hour, I told myself, then I’ll get to work. I should’ve known better. After all, I had devoured Into Darkness (stopping only to sleep and eat) and Road to Mercy (ditto) after similar promises to myself. Sure enough, one hour slipped away . . . then two . . . Once I started reading, I didn’t want to stop.I couldn’t stop.” -Goodreads reviewer

“Very entertaining and well written book with great characters.” -Netgalley reviewer

“T.J Brearton delivers a fast-paced psychological thriller with “Sign of Evil”. This page turner will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page.” -Booksprout reviewer

“The story is fast paced and addictive and it brilliantly picks up pace as the hunt for the killer intensifies near the end. The writing is really edgy giving a dark and gritty feel to the story which are the best elements of any crime thriller.” -Atomic Books

A.M. Geever & LOVE IN AN UNDEAD AGE on Wine Women & Writing with Pamela Fagan Hutchins

A.M. Geever & LOVE IN AN UNDEAD AGE on Wine Women & Writing with Pamela Fagan Hutchins

This woman can flat out write! True story: when she pitched for the show, I was like, nah, I don't read her genre. But her email was so great. And her darn bio on Amazon was so funny. I decided to try the novel—no promises. AND I LOVED IT. I booked her and did something I NEVER do: I read the other books in her series (I usually just don't carve out that time). So, trust me, if you like to read good books about humans and their relationships as they battle tough situations, and you don't mind grit and realism (yep, sex and F bombs), you're going to love this series.

Even if you don't, I'll be you love this conversation... give us a watch/listen 🙂

A.M. Geever, Author has been an avid reader of science fiction and fantasy from an early age, the only job she ever wanted--besides being a writer--was to be a Star Fleet Officer. She credits her love of all things zombie to her older brothers, whose influence in books, music, and film continues to this day, although her tolerance for puns and movies that are "so bad they're good" is a whole lot lower than theirs. The idea of becoming a zombie because her car runs out of gas gets her to the gas station when she would rather not bother.

Trained as a theologian, her work often explores the role of religious belief in post-apocalyptic/dystopian societies. Her award-winning debut novel, Love in an Undead Age, was released in August 2019, followed by Damage in an Undead Age in June 2020. The third installment of the Undead Age trilogy is slated for release Spring 2021. She is developing a second series set in the Undead Age universe.

About LOVE IN AN UNDEAD AGE:
Urban farmer Miranda Tucci is lucky to be alive in what's left of California's Silicon Valley, despite a love life that's dead on arrival. Then an old flame turns up at nearby Santa Clara University, and she wonders if her DOA love life might have a pulse.

A ruthless governing council controls the cure for the zombie virus. When Miranda joins a plot to steal it, the ghosts of her past collide with the present. Will the vaccine continue to be used for political advantage, or can Miranda survive long enough to usher in a new age of civilization? It's only the fate of humanity that's suddenly resting on her shoulders. If she can bring her love life back from the dead, how tough can saving the world be?

Lisa Regan & HUSH LITTLE GIRL

Lisa Regan & HUSH LITTLE GIRL

Lisa Regan is an Amazon bestselling suspense novelist. She'll be joining Pamela to talk about HUSH LITTLE GIRL, her 11th Josie Quinn book. Lisa lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the U.S. with her husband, daughter, and Boston Terrier named Mr. Phillip.

HUSH LITTLE GIRL: Dressed in pajamas covered with stars, the little girl’s body is perfectly still, her arms folded neatly over her chest. The wildflowers decorating her hair scatter across the grass in the sharp breeze. Her lips are parted slightly, as if to whisper goodnight for the very last time…

An absolutely gripping rollercoaster ride of a crime thriller from an Amazon, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author. Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Robert Dugoni and Rachel Caine.

Everyone is talking about Hush Little Girl:

‘I. Don’t. Know. How. She. Does. It… My heart pounded in my chest, my pulse raced, I shed some tears, and my hands shook… absolutely incredible.’ Goodreads reviewer, 5 stars

Mary Helen Sheriff & BOOP AND EVE'S ROAD TRIP

Eve Prince is done—with college, with her mom, with guys, and with her dream of fashion design. But when her best friend goes MIA, Eve must gather together the broken threads of her life in order to search for her.

When Eve’s grandmother, Boop, a retiree dripping with Southern charm, finds out about the trip, she—desperate to see her sister, and also hoping to alleviate Eve’s growing depression—hijacks her granddaughter’s road trip. Boop knows from experience that healing Eve will require more than flirting lessons and a Garlic Festival makeover. Nevertheless, Boop is frustrated when her feeble efforts yield the same failure that her sulfur-laced sip from the Fountain of Youth wrought on her age. She knows that sharing the secret that’s haunted her for sixty years might be the one thing that will lessen Eve’s growing depression—but she also fears that if she reveals it, she’ll lose her family and her own hard-won happiness.

Boop and Eve’s journey through the heart of Dixie is an unforgettable love story between a grandmother and her granddaughter.
