Episode 19 - Jared Fessler

Episode 19 - Jared Fessler

Jared Fessler is a former classmate of mine.  We have shared stages for play and musical productions as well as choir and show-choir.  He has known who he really is longer than probably anyone else I know, but finding a place to call "home" was an adventure he didn't realize he needed.  Jared and I discuss mental health and taking care of yourself because nobody else is going to do it.  He also goes into some of the difficulty and freedom that comes from being honest about who you are.  As an openly gay man living in the exact middle of Small-Town USA, finding his truth in life was never the issue.  Expressing himself did seem to have it's own hurdles.  Jared is incredible open and wonderful to talk to and the conversation is worth the listen for anyone having issues coping with the COVID-19 lockdown or learning to express yourself and trust those who love you to accept what that means.

Enjoy

Episode 18 - Lidya C Moore

Episode 18 - Lidya C Moore

Lidya is amazing.  Her story is the perfect example of learning to love yourself.  Lidya was born with Vitiligo, a condition that causes the pigment to be lost in only portions of a person's skin.  This has been an enormous source of self consciousness for her until fairly recently.  It was an exceptionally real conversation about learning to be who you are and learning to LOVE who you are regardless of what others may have to say.  Literally growing into comfort in her own skin has been a journey for the betterment of herself, the betterment of her relationship with her children and helped her grow in her career.

Enjoy!

Episode 17 - Matt Naber

Episode 17 - Matt Naber

Matt and I go way back sorta.    We went to the same middle school and high school but our circles were only slightly overlapping.  It's been excellent catching up and finding out about who he is now and what's he's done to become the man he is.  Matt has traveled as a journalist and explorer.   He has gone from Iowa to Alaska on what seems like kind of a whim, and has put down roots in some of the most beautiful places our nation has to offer.  We talk about staying fit mentally, physically and emotionally.  He's ultimately a really great guy with a lot of interesting views on life that some of us may not have thought of.

ENJOY!

Episode 16 - Jim Gibson

Jim Gibson is a former teacher of mine who shed some light on expressing emotion openly, having enthusiasm for life, and treating each day as an opportunity to grow. He is one of the bright spots in my education and I'm thrilled to have had the opportunity to speak to him.

Episode 13 - Tawana Anderson SHINE

This episode is a conversation I had with Tawana Anderson.  Her brand SHINE stands for Stuff Happens It's Not the End and if that's not the perfect compliment to Walk it Off - You're Probably Fine I don't know what is.  She and I delve into the mindset of moving forward and continuing through the hard stuff as well as keeping your eyes open for the opportunity to help others through their hard times. It's an excellent conversation and all of Tawana's links are below Www.TawanaAnderson.com Instagram: @Tawana_Shine Book on Amazon: “Bruised And Broken To Shine” https://www.amazon.com/Bruised-Broken-Shine-Memoir-Anderson/dp/1733149910/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=bruised+and+broken+to+shine&qid=1589404372&sr=8-1 Facebook Group: Shine Lifestyle @ https://www.facebook.com/groups/shinelifestyle/?ref=share

Episode 12 - King Jay Barnett

Episode 12 - King Jay Barnett

This conversation took me happily off guard as Jay is both an exceptionally open and honest guest AND he doesn't mind digging into some of the muck at the chance of uncovering a few gems for someone else.  I appreciate his candor and willingness to play ball with me as we peeled the layers of his attempted suicide, drug use, and how the divorce of his parents all helped mold him into the successful and HELPFUL man he is today.

Episode 11 - Sean Furlong

Episode 11 - Sean Furlong

Sean and I graduated together, but had to some degree not REALLY been in the same circles.   Recently we both signed up for a 50k with the same group of guys and it was a great way for a new kind of relationship to start.  So, Sean and I do some catching up as well as breaking down what you COULD go through and still come out a generally ok person.  Ultimately, Sean has a really great mind.  I like the way he thinks and processes life and THAT is where the most meat is in the episode.

Episode 10 - Matt Rackers aka "Rack em Sack em Robots" aka "Rack Stack and Two Smokin' Barrels"

Mr. Matthew Rackers Esquire and I have a great little chatterino about life, faith, family, business and legacy.  Matt is a really cool guy with a great pile of brains in his skull and digging in with him was a great time.

Episode 9 - Travis Steffen

Episode 9 - Travis Steffen

To anyone who's been paying attention, the story of Travis Steffen is a winding and intriguing one.  We go through some of the bullet points of his journey to becoming a successful entrepreneur.  Travis is very candid in our conversation and lends a lot of insight into his own ups and downs along the way.  Thanks for your time, Mister Steffen.

Episode 8.5 Bonus - Chris Ward

Episode 8.5 Bonus - Chris Ward

Chris is a return guest who's helping me out by interviewing me about my attempt to run a marathon.  We handle some of the finer details of my mental and physical game of getting through it.  Then we kinda just fall off a cliff talking about whatever as friends, AND THEN we get back to the main focus of the episode and finish...    Strong?    Either way it's a fun episode and I enjoyed Chris' take on my experience.

Episode 5 - F.O.C.U.S.

This week we dig into F.O.C.U.S.  This acronym has been devised to help overcome the various perceived and actual set-backs that might arise during the course of hunting down the "finish line" of any goal.  Through understanding Failure, Obstacles, Criticism, the Unknown and Success for what they are and how they present themselves, we get a better understanding of who we are and build our skills to better achieve and appreciate the goals we have on our horizons.

Episode 3 - Chris Ward

Episode 3 - Chris Ward

Chris and I talk about the Caronapocalypse and how to gauge your mindset to come out of it with compassion and positivity.   Chris has been a motivator in my life for years now and leaning on his level head to gain MORE insight on the current situation was great.  I hope this helps your own struggle through what could be a very trying time.

Bonus Episode - Jeremy Spratt - Let's just be good humans!

Bonus Episode - Jeremy Spratt - Let's just be good humans!

Jeremy and I talk about the IMPENDING DOOM of Coronapocalypse.  WRONG!  We try to give each other and you a little bit of of a point of view on how WE are dealing with and living in what is the weirdest America/World we've lived in (our generation specifically) to date.   Ultimately, We're trying to spread the good word that we will come through this as a nation, as a species and as individuals and it is up to you and how you want to conduct yourself that will dictate HOW you come through this.  Let's aim for being good humans.

Episode 2 - Meg Dindinger

Episode 2 - Meg Dindinger

It's the MAMA!!!

My Mom, Meg Dindinger, joins me for a sort of walk through memory lane as well as chance to stop and sniff the optimism.  Almost everything I know about not sweating the small stuff has come from her either passively or actively trying to be an example and I couldn't be more amazed at the life she's lead and the boys (me included) she's raised..
