Angelica Faber: Women In Technology Interview 2022 | Getting Into Cybersecurity

Angelica Faber: Women In Technology Interview 2022 | Getting Into Cybersecurity

In today's episode, I'm chatting with the incredible Angelica Faber, Prin Cloud Solution Architect - Security, about all things security and identity. Angelica shared so much career insight and advice for you, so stay locked in!

The term "women in tech" can be defined as an individual who is a woman, who has a job in the technology industry. There are many careers for women in tech. The most popular ones are software engineers, computer scientists, and computer programmer. Women in tech have been a subject of debate for many years. There are some who believe that women should not be in tech at all, while there are also those who think that they are just as capable as men. Today, we are discussing the different careers for women in tech and how being a woman in this industry is like.

A career in technology is an excellent choice for many women, especially Cyber Security. What does it mean to be a woman in tech? Women are often underrepresented or misrepresented within the industry and this has led to them being seen as outsiders or outsiders. It is important to know that you can still be successful despite these challenges.

Women in tech are often the minority in their field and face various challenges. They are often the only woman in a meeting or at a conference. They are usually the only woman on their team or one of the few women on their team. Women in technology is not just about being a woman in coding but also being an advocate for diversity and inclusion within the industry.

People who watch this video are interested in:

• Angelica Faber women in technology interview 2022

• careers for women in tech and what does it mean to be a woman in tech

• sly gittens video about women in tech careers and computer science

• female leaders in tech, female software engineers, and girls who code

• what it’s like being a woman in tech and why should women join tech jobs

• why we need women in stem and tech careers

The first challenge that women face is that they have to prove themselves more than men do to be taken seriously as an engineer, programmer, or other technical worker. The second challenge is that they have to constantly prove themselves to be competent while men don't have to do this because they're assumed competent by default. The third challenge is that there's still a lot of unconscious bias.

Women In Technology - Maria Shelton Founder of Ardian Group and Ardian Technologies

Women In Technology - Maria Shelton Founder of Ardian Group and Ardian Technologies

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself:” a quote [George Bernard Shaw] that Maria Shelton, founder of Ardian Group and Ardian Technologies, lives by, taking her vision of secure data handling from a small company run out of her basement to a multi-million dollar global presence. With nearly 30 years of experience in operations, leadership, and innovation, Maria is responsible for implementing secure data-driven technology and project-management solutions for global impact events and organizations like the Presidential Inaugurations, NBA All-Star, the Emmy Awards, Philadelphia Eagles, various non-profit organizations, and much more. As a minority woman in the field of information technology and security, Maria's tireless determination, singular focus, and creativity were requirements for her to achieve her goals. She holds that grit and perseverance as an example to other aspiring entrepreneurs, recognizing how much persistence is required to realize dreams. To those women, and her own two daughters, she offers this advice: don't be afraid to have big goals and trust your ability to reach them. As long as you continue to work toward your vision, you're closer to realizing your dream than if you stop, intimidated by the enormity of it. When away from Ardian, Maria is a dedicated wife and mother to her three children. Together, they are forever grateful for their success and for the people who helped to bring it about. ✉️ Connect with Maria linkedin.com/in/maria-shelton-ardiantechnologies Ardian Technologies https://www.ardiantechnologies.com 🟠 Follow me on Instagram @tech_simplified_sg 🔴 Watch more episodes of my Women In Technology series!
