This was a big episode with someone I have wanted to interview for a long time. I had the honor of chatting with Claire, the President of Standard Heating & Air Conditioning which has been a family owned and operated company since 1930. Claire shares her awesome insight on the HVAC industry and how she encourages others to get involved. She offers advice for both newcomers to the industry and people going through a career change later in life. The Big One shares her career goals, how she handles stress of being a President and issues that she has faced as a woman in the industry and how she has navigated them. I also tell the story about how Claire got the nickname and shed light on what it's like to work for this amazing company. You won't want to miss this episode. 

On this episode, I talk with 313a Refrigeration mechanic, Gas fitter, and HVAC instructor Brandi about her career in the trades and how she got to be where she is today. Her passion and enthusiasm is inspiring and she does an amazing job of promoting the trades to all who want to become involved. I was very excited to speak with a local superhero, Cathy Heying founder of The Lift Garage here in Minneapolis, MN. The lift is a non-profit organization that performs car repairs for those who are homeless or are low-income. Cathy was a social worker and her own words "a church lady" who at the age of 38 decided to go back to school and become an Auto Mechanic. She talks about The Lift, what it is like to go back to school with a bunch of 18 year olds, the challenges she faces and her goals for the organization. The Lift helps folks get back on the road at a fraction of the cost that other shops charge. There are many things that we take for granted and having a functioning vehicle is one of them. I was SO excited to interview Tovah, the HVAC Installer that works for the same company that I do. We talk about how she got involved, what she likes about the industry, her goals, as well as a quick visit from her cat and how she deals with negativity. Tovah is amazing at her career as an installer and her craft speaks for itself. It was an honor to interview this epic tradeswoman! We switch it up for this bonus episode - I had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Gary from Toronto, you know him from the HVAC Know It All podcast. I asked him a few questions about Canada, how he got started in HVAC, how he does certain things for his podcast as well as what tool he couldn't live without. Gary interviewed me in this multi-podcast episode. We talked about HVAC, my background, my weird accent, and how Nerdy came to be.
