Working on Embracing Change with Jill Thiry
Jill Thiry, founder of Club Change. Club Change is an organization helping others to create purposeful change in their lives through intention setting, mindful chanting, and yoga. We believe that through change, we find the best versions of ourselves.
She started almost 20 years ago, after an ambitious corporate career in Publishing, with annual goal setting sessions with her siblings. It then organically grew into leading friends and their families through change, and then into weekly Club meetings! Members enjoy identifying an intention and then practice whatever it is they aspire to do, in a kind, achievable, loving way. This Group process succeeds where individual discipline or willpower often falls short of true habit building. It is fun, and often opens one's heart and mind to new thinking. Jill guides each Club for two months, and leads complementary intention setting classes. Jill also offers free chanting and meditation sessions on Zoom and on Facebook at @ClubChangeNow. When Jill is not leading Clubs or chants, she is teaching or providing guest services at Rancho La Puerta in Tecate, Mexico. Or she is hiking, biking, boating or swimming on some mountain or body of water. You can reach any of these or learn more at jillthiry.com

Working On Logistical Spirituality with Brandon Scott
Brandon P. Scott, fitness expert & founder of the wellness lifestyle brand Dojo DC, studied mechanical engineering at The Ohio State university before switching to kinesiology at Towson university. Ironically he never had any interest in working in health and fitness. However his time at Ohio State with friends on the football and basketball team inspired him to spend more time in the gym. After coming to terms with his own body dysmorphia and the mental hurdles it created he decided that building people up instead of cars was his new calling. He now has 11+ years’ experience as an elite level personal trainer, government site fitness manager, mindset coach & group exercise instructor, training some of the DC area’s top CEOs, executives, creative entrepreneurs and young athletes. Brandon credits his own journey to self-awareness and personal development as the inspiration for creating the Dojo DC web platform to promote the mindset & practice of optimizing the human condition through blog articles & digital media. The entire concept is designed to offer users the tools & information to find out what healthy and happy means to them as an individual, rather than what the mainstream industry dictates and portrays in the media. At the same time the various types of digital media and articles on the website also highlight other professionals and disrupters of industry as a way to show the many ways other individuals of various backgrounds have gone about maximizing a lifestyle of wellness and prosperity. The ultimate goal is to create a community centered on raising the collective consciousness and inspiring others to explore their fullest potential.

"It took my mother getting really sick, gaining extra unwanted weight and no doctors being able to explain why for me to realize that other women needed my help.
After helping my mother drop 30lbs and keep it off, bringing her energy back up so she could keep up with her pre-schoolers, and reducing the chronic aches and pains she was experiencing in her arms and legs, Lift & Flow Performance was born.
What makes us different and better than other fitness companies is that we take a complete individual approach. We know and recognize that we are all as unique as our fingerprint.
With that in mind, we dedicate ourselves to teaching women how to eat for their bodies to speed up their metabolism and help their bodies heal. We teach them how to workout for where their fitness level is right now and where they want to be.
Lastly, at Lift & Flow Performance we teach lifestyle habits to last forever so we can make sure our women aren’t simply living but thriving!" - Mia Santé

“I am that bitch. That bitch is me. It took time and a lot of hard work for me to say that. As minute as it might sound, that’s huge. For as long as I could remember I thought that having a loving husband, adorable kid, kick ass job, and the car and houses to match was what made me, well... me. I had the quintessential #goals life. Yet I still felt like I wasn’t enough. I felt alone and unloved even though I was constantly surrounded by what looked like love.
I had it all, yet my despair grew deeper, and that is when I knew that it was time for major changes to ensue. As I explored ways to find my way out of my darkness, I asked myself one essential question, “Who loves me?”. I wrote a list and to my surprise, I was nowhere on that list. I realized I was showing up to be that bitch for everyone else but I wasn’t showing up and loving myself. I wanted to be everything for everyone because I thought that was how you received love. Conditionally. You give all of your love and to receive love. That was unacceptable. Love is unconditional and it starts from within. I was constantly preaching self love and had zero practice in the subtle art of self love myself.
So I made the hard choice that I had been long avoiding. I chose myself. I decided that my life’s purpose was simply to love me fully. The devotion began with raw, unfiltered honesty. It started with me shedding a life that no longer served me. That meant most of the things that I thought defined who I was had to go. That included jobs, relationships, habits, and old patterns. If it didn’t feel like a fit anymore it was out the door. I said goodbye to perfectionism and pleasing people, and hello to putting my needs first. Loving myself and filling my own cup. It became more important for me to live a life that looked authentic to how I felt.
Fast forward to present day, I am not the woman that I thought that I was three years ago, one year ago, or even a month ago. I am forever evolving and changing. My ability to love myself unconditionally empowers me to do the same for others. I have held space for my own healing. I continue to love all of the parts of me, even the parts that are hardest to love. I allow myself to grow every day. The process can be a gritty one, but I assure you it is well worth it. It all started with the decision to choose myself. The choice that has to be made day in and day out if I want to heal.
I am all things and I am nothing at the same time. This shit is beautiful; my story is beautiful. Everyday I show up and do my best, knowing that it will look different each time, and that’s okay because that’s all that God has asked me to do.” - GiGi Evans
