Today, I am extremely excited to share with you our first episode with a Homeschooling Dad! Yes, you read that correctly! Troy, an Insurance Products Analyst, covers the primary bulk of the homeschooling early each morning before work. "I like a structured style for the most part and we do it 365 days a year." 

In today's episode, Stephanie, a writer and Educational Consultant for History Unboxed, talks about her experience Working While Homeschooling. "The thing that makes work good for our family is that it provides me an identity, and outlet, and brings me joy. . . Some people maintaining a home is a hobby and brings them joy but it doesn't have to be yours."

Today, Joanie is sharing with her experience with VIPKids, as well as working as a photographer. "If you have a passion, it can be used to make money, you just have to be creative and willing to put in some effort."

Today, we are speaking to Amy, a Special Needs Consultant to primarily the homeschooling community. "What I love about Charlotte Mason's philosophy (and I studied quite a few in school) is that her philosophy begins with "Children are born persons." When you have spent as much time working with special needs kids as I have, you learn just how important it is to make respecting the personhood of the child the foundation of your education. LIsten to who your child is today and teach THAT child. Just focus on the NEXT thing."

In today's episode, we are speaking to Masha, a freelance editor and blog editor.  "My advice is to not stress that they are getting everything, which they would get in public school, but focus on reading good quality stuff." As far as working? "Be open to opportunities."

Today we are speaking to Terri, an online English and Language Arts Teacher. "My teaching style never really fit into the confines of a label even when I was teaching in the brick and mortar elementary classrooms. What has remained consistent for me throughout the years is my educational philosophy, which is that all children can learn and that learning is a natural process for curious kids. Since all kids are born curious, when done well, learning never has to be forced. It is our job as educators to find out what will help each individual child find that natural curiosity and guide them through while they become independent learners.  EVERYONE can homeschool successfully regardless of education level, background etc. The key is to establish your own personal educational philosophy and go from there."
