Episode 34 - Kat, Business Owner, Online Tutorial Company
In today's episode, we talk with Dr. Kat Patrick, owner of the online tutorial company, Dreaming Spires Home Learning, and homeschooling mom of four. "You can homeschool your children through high school even if you're working a lot, and you neither have to re-invent the wheel to come up with a good set of courses for their transcripts, nor fall back on something that's dry and boring and a real slog just because you're not sure what else to do or don't have time to do it yourself. What fires me up is making homeschoolers better."  Website for Kat's Company:   www.dreamingspireshomelearning.com Find Me on the Internet: Website – WorkingWhileHomeschooling.com LinkedIn – www.linkedin.com/in/juliemendez Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/WorkingWhileHomeschooling/ Twitter - twitter.com/WorkWHomeschool

In this episode, Catina tells us about her role as a program advisor at the Embark Center for Self-Directed Education, and her former role as a former clarinet tutor. "Being able to work at my passion gave me a sense of self and purpose that was an important part of my life outside and yet integrated with being a mother. It was also extremely important for me that my kids see me working and pursuing my dreams, especially my daughter. I’d like to support and encourage other parents that with a lot of juggling and flexibility, they can work for money or their passions or both. It’s doable in many situations if you think outside the box . . . You can trust your kids; they really want to learn cool things. Kids are cool people with really cool ideas.
