Talking About Mental Illness with Sheree Ann Martines on Write Speak Play
It's the things we don't talk about that scare us the most. Why is it people - we, us, you, me, find it so hard to talk about Mental Illness when 1 in 3 people on the planet suffer from some form of mental illness? In this episode of Write Speak Play, I talk with author Sheree Ann Martines about mental illness and the effect it's had on her life. We discuss our inability to have uncomfortable conversations surrounding Mental Illness and offer possible ways we can begin to get comfortable talking about Mental Illness. About Sheree Ann Martines (from her bio): As a communications professional for almost three decades, Sheree Ann Martines has written extensively for the American Red Cross and Goodwill Industries. She is a poet, a contributor to NPR, and author of Rude Awakening, a true-crime thriller. Sheree is currently at work on her second book, Tempered Soul-Surviving Trauma, Grief, and Bipolar Disorder, about her dark struggle with the aftermath of child abuse, devastating grief, and her long battle with bipolar disorder. Learning how to survive and thrive, Sheree hopes this book will help others dealing with tragedy and mental health issues. Discussing her writing style, Sheree states, “I have lived a life that leaves me no option but to torture paper with pen. I do so with the hope at least one soul will be set on the road to recovery.” She infuses her writing with personal, painful, sometimes graphic, but ultimately hopeful insight. Martines graduated cum laude from Appalachian State University with degrees in Communications and Marketing. An avid outdoorswoman who loves camping, whitewater rafting, and “digging in the dirt,” Sheree calls the mountains of North Carolina home. #### Links To Sheree Ann Martines Living with Bipolar Disorder Blog: Website www.livingbipolardisorder.blogspot.com Rude Awakening-Author 2013-2019, published December 2019 www.rude-awakening-rob-whedbee.com https://www.amazon.com/Sheree-Ann-Martines/e/B084Q13FCH?ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1&qid=1611774888&sr=8-1 I Know Mental Health Podcast-February 2021 Poetic Pulse Podcast-February 2021 Derek Hanjora Podcast-“Mental Health”-March 2021 Fine Lines Poetry Journal-Summer Edition-2021-Seasons www.shereeannmartines.com/Living With Bipolar Disorder-Under Construction Links to Nanci Arvizu www.NanciWrites.com www.RedFlagsorFlowers.com Click here to Visit the Garden of Neuro #SafeandBraveSpace

Survivor Reads Victim Impact Statement on Write Speak Play
WARNING: In this episode, we are discussing child predators, sexual abuse, and exploitation.  This is why Write Speak Play exists.  Every story is important.  Our stories are even more important when detailing life-changing trauma while seeking justice for an altered present and future.  Being denied our ability to Speak Our Truth inhibits our path to healing. It also ends the opportunity to make real change, by changing perceptions and behavior. Today's guest was denied to right to read her Victim Impact Statement for the court to hear what an older, 'respected' military man caused in her life with predatory actions, sexual abuse, and exploitation.  And here, for the first time, she will read her entire statement in full.  I am honored to host this young woman's story. And, I've been so moved by what she has shared I've asked her to join me for a series of talks, to give her the opportunity to share more of her journey through the trauma of abuse and the work necessary to find healing. Mary-Elizabeth is now an Advocate. She is sharing her story because she knows there are others out there, victims of the same man who prayed upon her who will not receive their day in court due to their extremely young age, and millions of others who are denied justice. the things she feels others need to know to protect themselves, their friends, family members, and children from the predators who unfortunately inhabit every spectrum of our world.  LINKS TO The Body Keeps The Score, by Bessel van der Kold M.D. available on Amazon Red Flags or Flowers 10 Questions to discuss the difficult topics of Transgenerational Dysfunction, Narcissistic Abuse, and Sexual Trauma. Tia Ma on Write Speak Play Part 1
When we talk about trauma, we are usually discussing something that happened in the midst of a lifetime.  When trauma happens our brains are forever changed. There is a 'before trauma' brain and an 'after trauma' brain. But what if this trauma began at birth?  Tia Ma shares her story, and I will let her tell it. Honestly, I'm glad this wasn't a video because for most of this conversation I'm pretty sure my jaw is hanging open, her story is that shocking. The beginnings of her life's story will stun you.  But, in testament to the resilience of the human soul, Tia Ma learned how to turn her experiences into a path to enlightenment and healing, for herself and others. If you've been a victim of abuse, narcissistic abuse, family dysfunction, or trauma, this episode is for you. I was especially interested in 'Identifying Triggers,' and how breathing is our best line of protection, defense, awareness, and our lifeline to coping, managing, and a way to unwind the wounds of C-PTSD. We talked about so much I had to break this conversation into two episodes. Part 2 coming soon. Garden of Neuro Book Club Discussion 1 on Write Speak Play
In our first Book Club discussion, Susan Brearley shares her observations of A Promised Land by Barack Obama, and I share Flying Lead Change by Kelly Wendorf.  In the first segment, Susan shares what the book club is all about. How it began and why it's a part of what's available in the Garden of Neuro. Then Susan shares her insights into A Promised Land by Barack Obama and I share my answers to the Master Mind Questions for Flying Lead Change by Kelly Wendorf. Towards the end of our talk, we get deep about the questions we ask each other, specifically 'What do you do?' It's little Drops of Jupiter like these that make conversations with Susan and other women in the Garden exciting, insightful, and something I look forward to. Thank you for listening. Lisa Tomey from Prolific Pulse on Write Speak Play
Today my guest is poet, podcaster, and poet promoter Lisa Tomey, host and creator of the Prolific Pulse podcast where she features poets from around the world, providing another platform to share their work.  I met Lisa in The Garden of Neuro where Open Mic sessions are held Saturdays at 3 PM EST and learned about her podcast and her purpose, which is similar to mine: To provide space for people to share their stories. Lisa is also publishing an anthology of 47 poems curated from listener submissions and the poetry groups she belongs to. The book is expected to be available in May. Mic Drop: Illuminate, or Abominate by Robin Klammer
About Robin Klammer, writer, and poet: Poetry has a special place in my heart and has helped me explore in a creative way how I might be feeling at any given time.  I play word games in my head when inspiration strikes, and it helps to create new material. The challenge was prevaricate. *Note: This piece was read by Nanci Arvizu. And yes, prevaricate was a challenge.** Read more by Robin Klammer here. Visit the Garden of Neuro here.

Linda Broder shares Pebbles and Cartwheels on Write Speak Play
I met Linda through the Speaker Sisterhood. In her first speech, she let us know who she was, what had brought her here and now, how she was handling a 'really bad thing,' that happened to her and her family. **This is an emotional topic, and I am grateful to Linda for her courage to share her story with me on Write Speak Play.** Linda's son Brendan was killed in an accident days before he was to start high school. Linda has found writing to be her way to heal, to help her two younger children through their own loss, and finally, to understand there is still joy in life to be had, experienced, and shared, even in the midst of grieving.  This is one of those conversations I wish I would have started recording from the beginning. During the first few minutes, before I started recording, we talked about the way writing helps us heal. Linda found that writing about her loss, her grief, and her love for Brendan, she was able to see herself and the new reality she found herself in, from a different perspective, another voice, and it gave her a way to feel, something other than grief, again.  Losing people we love is hard. But when we are unable to share our grief, our love, or our stories about those we've lost, we lose more - we lose the memories of them.  These are the conversations we must learn to have more of.  More about my guest: Linda Broder is a writer and musician living in Northern NJ. She believes in the power of telling your story. She finds stories everywhere - in the echoes of her past and the whispers of trees and in the sounds of her harp. Her upcoming book is on finding hope and wonder.  She is currently working on a memoir of loss, music, and the mysteries all around us. Her work has appeared in The Washington Post, Spirituality & Health, and Tiny Buddha. You can find her at lindabroder.com Learn more about The Speaker Sisterhood here. Visit the Garden of Neuro here. Passion and Awareness on Write Speak Play
In this episode I share my speech for the Sister Speakerhood, Discovering your passion and Growing your awareness. This topic helped me define the qualitative research project Red Flags or Flowers, asking 10 questions at a time to dig into the three separate and yet intricately entwined subjects of the Dysfunction of Family, Narcissistic Abuse, and Sexual Trauma. Daily Drop Dec 2 2020 Expanding Minds
Today's Daily Drop is about the Wednesday Morning Centering Session in The Garden of Neuro.  Today, Founder Susan Brearley guided us along a trail, letting us decide the where and what might surround us. As we shared our individual experiences afterward, Susan shared the ways our brains change when we allow the mind to visualize,. What our mind 'sees' can be something we've experienced in the past, or hope to experience in the future, each picture making different connections in our mind, sorting all those images out, putting them where they belong - in the past or in the future.  This led to a conversation about using Psychedelics in therapy to heal from trauma and PTSD, which led to a sharing of fantastic TED talks, more books to go on the reading list, and finally this podcast :) I love what the Garden brings to my world.  I invite you to explore the Garden of Neuro here.

Sharing more about what’s happening in the Garden of Neuro. Link to The Garden of Neuro ### Daily Drops are short episodes where I talk about the one or two topics I’m pondering for the day or share something new I’ve learned, or who knows? Daily Drops are all about the daily habit of creating and posting a podcast. To keep the Daily Drop short, I’ve decided to not include the anchor.fm commercial, which is how the podcast earns its pennies. Instead, I’d like to let listeners know you can support Write Speak Play in a Patreon-isk kind of way by visiting the main show website at anchor.fm/writespeakplay and become a monthly supporter for which I will be forever grateful and will send you all kinds of good karma. Daily Drop Nov 25 2020 Remembering Great Thoughts
Today's Daily Drop is being published a little late. On Wednesday Anchor had an outage and Thursday was Thanksgiving. And for the first time ever I got to play golf on Thanksgiving.  In This Daily Dro I talk about trying to remember those 'great thoughts' we have as we go about our day, and maybe the reason we can hang onto those Great Thoughts is we're trying to do too much. Just Maybe. Are you able to recall Great thoughts later? PLEASE TELL ME HOW YOU DO IT! Daily drop November 24, 2020. The Proximity Principle and Imagination
Today’s daily drop is about the proximity principle. At the beginning of 2020, I read the book the Proximity Principle by Ken Coleman. Applying these methods, even in 2020 has changed my world. And today I realized I needed to apply this same principle to my writing. I had to let go of my main characters and welcome new ones.  To keep the Daily Drop short, I’ve decided to not include the anchor.fm commercial, which is how the podcast earns its pennies. Barn Thoughts 6 Beliefs
What is the story you believe? I had the opportunity to meet with two writers yesterday. We were able to spend 5 hours together, writing and talking. There was a great balance between both. Both are excellent writers, Each with their own stories to tell. And true to writers fashion, they write what they know. That's what I talk about in today's Barn Thoughts. (My 6th in a row!) Our Beliefs. Here's a link to the story I mentioned, The People You Meet, when you're in their favorite places. FYI - I didn't do the voice recorded version that's available. YET. Barn Thoughts 4 on Write Speak Play
Distractions, Clarity, and Writing Today I talk about how I've spent the last few years turning the chaos into clarity which became my 2020 word-smash - #2020YearofClear(er)Vision. When and where the words Write, Speak, and Play became the first step in me finding my path, or rediscovering my path. I've always known I wanted to be a writer, I just need to stay focused. The problem is I get distracted with OPP's - Other People's Projects. I put my own goals and dreams to the side so I can work on someone else's dreams who, unfortunately, have an easier time stopping the project because they're not putting skin into it like I am.  But, everything happens for a reason, right? Some of those distractions have helped me get clearer on the mission, to figure out what I needed to know so I can keep working on my Big Dreams. Which is how the Write Speak Play Club came to life. What's my word going to be for #2021? another word-smash, because I can't pick one word!  Here's what I'm thinking - #2021MyYearofReceivingAbundance I'm happy to share it with you. Come spend some time writing, working on whatever project you need or want to move forward with. Barn Thoughts with Nanci on Write Speak Play
In this episode, I am trying something different. I'm lucky enough to spend every morning outside. Whether I like it or not. Truth be told, I love it. You see, I live on a little ranch. I have horses. Which means, I have to clean stalls. It's while I'm out here, by myself with my small herd horses, my rake, and my thoughts.  November is Nation Novel Writing Month or NaNoWriMo. I heard someone started a NaNoPodMo, which actually doesn't make sense (Nation Novel Podcast Month?). But here's the quest: To record a podcast every day in November. I'm starting late, but I'm going to give it a try by sharing the big thought I have while I'm in the barn. **I thought I'd call this Cleaning Stalls, but have changed my mind to In The Barn and then Barn Thoughts with Nanci. I'll probably change it again ;)  Here are a few related stories: Love Lives in My Backyard Hole in My Heart Best Days Ever Discover the Garden of Neuro here! Join the Write Speak Play Club here.

The Sale of An Immigrant Girl on Write Speak Play
Fiction is nothing more than a story wrapped around the truth. All fiction is based on some thread of truth, and mine is no different unless you think wrapping a story around a thousand threads of truth is unique.  In The Sale of An Immigrant girl, I weave the histories of women from my family tree I've uncovered as I continue my quest into my Ancestry. During the creating of America, thousands, if not millions of women, girls mostly under the age of 20, were sold to men they'd never met, never known, living in a hostile country that needed a 'waste class' of people to make way for more people to come. Millions of those first immigrants to arrive on these shores did not survive and their stories lost to time. Growing up, my history taught me that these 'mail-order brides,' were happy to be married to a man in America. The few stories were layered with romantic nuances then swept aside to talk about grander conquests, like cowboys killing Indians. This story is to remind us all of the sacrifices those who came before us made. Orgasmic Leadership with Rachel Braun Scherl on Write Speak Play
This is the story of what it's like to be a woman trying to bring a product to market with the potential to serve ONE HALF of the world's population, and being turned down because the product they wanted to talk about was too embarrassing for the men with the money to discuss. Orgasmic Leadership by Rachel Braun Scherl, ebook and paperback are available on Amazon. She was a woman looking for money for a start-up in the Silicone Valley. In every room she entered where she was to pitch her female-only product, the tables were surrounded by men who couldn't even handle the language of her presentation without snickers and questions asked to embarrass her. Rachel persevered by realizing she would have to change her language to suit the male-dominated landscape,  This experience had her questioning the experiences of other women who work in male-dominated fields but have learned to navigate around the mean around the table. What she discovered was women need to learn a new language. Thank you for listening! NOTE: The only reason this episode is marked explicit is because we say the names of female body parts and feminine products.

When Home Isn't What You Think It Is
For some people Going home is like going around the block. They never left their hometown, Grandma watches the kids, there might even be a weekly dinner that happens. For others, trips home are commonplace. They spend every holiday with mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, cousins aunts uncles the whole works. It's just the way they've done things and the way they always will. Everyone is good with it, because going home something they look forward to. Then there're people whose home is something different. Yes, it is a place where our parents might still live. It might be the place holds most of our childhood memories. It might be a place of great love and joy. But it also might hold deep dark secrets, the kinds that make us want to never go back there again. And yet we must return home. Home might be where people are no longer surrounded by familiar dwellings like Grandma's old house. But the stories are still there, and remember it's not what they said, it's how they made you feel. Those places move with you. Those things move with you. They're not left in the walls of the home someone else now lives in. I was listening to the podcast Tales from a Cult Insider, By Jared Garrett. I interviewed Jared on my podcast Page Readers about his book Beyond The Cabin almost 10 years ago. It's been a fantastic journey between then and now, for both of us. Jared has gone on to bigger and better things including his podcast but seriously that's just the tip of the iceberg. I'll let him tell you his story though, here's a link to his podcasts. Tales from a Cult Insider. Beyond The Cabin, by Jared Nathan Garrett Things have changed in my own life too. I no longer host the Page Readers podcast, and I no longer review books. I still edit every once a while and work on an occasional ghostwriting project. But truly my passion now is to inspire everyone to write their story and speak their truth because I believe when we learn to speak our truth, we hold people accountable for their behavior. And when people are held accountable for their behavior, their behavior changes.  Speak your truth and change the world for the better. This episode of Write Speak Play is my take on Jarrods experience and comparing it to my own.  Then I share with you essays from my nonfiction book Dysfunction of Family. Susan Brearley shares The Garden of Neuro Beginnings on Write Speak Play
This podcast has been a long time coming.  I originally met Susan Brearley online through a zoom call just after "Covid Hit." (I'm putting those words in quotes because I'm quoting how a lot of people put those first days and weeks of having our lives impacted in ways we could never have imagined.) Susan runs MuddyUm, a publication on the platform Medium. It's a place where writers have the option of putting their work behind a paywall and the opportunity to make some money writing. When "Covid Hit," (see there it is again) Susan organized a zoom call for the comedians on MuddyUm to share their work to a live, digital, audient. (What great practice those first zoom calls were for me! How little did we all know how much we'd all need this technical training?) By the third zoom meeting, we were down to three people. The third person dropped off after an hour. And my life was changed.  For me, it started with her story about why she keeps 19 journals. NINETEEN. I think that's how many she counted that first day. I ditched my planner and started keeping journals. Journal S, as in plural, as in many journals. It's been life-changing and I love it. Her vision for the Garden of Neuro had been percolating for a while before we met. But I like to think I had something to do with moving her vision from thoughts into action.  Because now there is a Garden of Neuro. Where the smallest and largest of dreams are welcomed, nourished, and grown into reality alongside others growing big and small dreams too and sharing what they've learned along the way.  If you'd like to explore the Garden of Neuro, here's an invitational link which will give you access to this freshly tilled soil. Come join us, bring your experiences, ideas, and dreams into this space where they will be given room to grow and you will find the support and guidance you need to help your dreams reach their fullest potential. Articles and Stories I've written about this experience so far: I Tossed My Planner Because of A Conversation with Susan Brearley Every Acorn Needs A Daimon Rewiring MY Brain One Book At A Time Stepping into The Future, One Book At A Time And here's Susans' story of how reading 200 books in a year changed her life. Interview with Tammy Kern, Golf Fashion Expert on Write Speak Play
In this episode I get to talk about two of my most favorite topics - Golf and Clothes (!) with just the right person, Tammy Kern, who spent her career putting more than pretty clothes into Pro Shops in California.  Tammy and I met through Women on Course, a National group established to encourage and support women to learn, network, travel, and play the game of golf, for reasons ranging from fun to advancing career opportunities. Over the years  Links for Listeners I'm sharing the four separate Style Guides Tammy put together for my Virtual Style Session. I was pleasantly surprised and flattered by the comparisons she chose, and she is right! I am watching what these beautiful women are wearing and will be trying on things I might not have tried before. Expanding my world! I love it! Connect with Tammy at Pinterest or Instagram.  Women on Course is a national group designed to encourage and support women through the game of golf. I seriously cannot recommend this group enough! **I edited this conversation for brevity and sticking to the topic, so my 'added in questions' might sound a little wonky. Dystopian Diaries E3 on Write Speak Play
Thank you for listening! What do you think so far?  Well, I'm changing things up.  You see, I first started publishing this story as a call for submissions from a publication on Medium. The story had to be an 'open write,' meaning others could take on a character and add to the story, and, the most important part, it needed to at some point, visit The Never-Ending Tavern. What is The Never-Ending Tavern? It's the place where all stories come to end or begin or rest or restart. It meant taking on a magical twist to the darkness of Dystopian Diaries.  It was a blast. I picked up on stories from writers whose characters stopped by the tavern and intermingled them with mine.  Fates Converge at the Never End Tavern Dystopian Diaries, Nicole, Entry 5 Home Between Homes I'm also sharing another song by Andrew Underhill, who was gracious enough to put music to my song, The Hole in My Heart. Letting Our Emotions Flow
I was told once that I needed to tone down my anger if I wanted anyone to listen to me. That's not true. I've been told many times to 'tone it down.' My anger. My 'fed-up-to-here-with-it AND my passion. I've even been told to tone down the laughter and to Stop Having So Much Fun. So which is it? I can't be happy or mad? Is it okay to be sad? Actually, no, right?  When we hide behind the words that allow us to pretend we are comfortable - in our anger, our sadness, and even our joy, we are creating an opportunity for doubt about our own self-being to creep into our very souls.  I am not comfortable in my anger. I am not proud of it either. I am doing my best to turn my Anger into Action. I am not comfortable in my silence. I am learning to use my voice to speak my truth and to encourage and inspire others to do the same. I will not allow anything to stand in the way of any part of my journey, even the sad parts.  All of these things add up to the sum of me, who I am right now. Without the experiences of my life, I would not be who I am, where I am, or even capable of the same dreams I have for the future. My future. In this episode of Write Speak Play I'm digging into some sad parts with: She is Still With Me. Fiction for a writers' prompt. Take The Horses. Fiction. This is How I See The Beginning. Dramatic nonfiction. I'm also sharing the world-debut of my first song writing experience, a collaboration with Andrew Underhill (from the UK). He's a budding songwriter and screenplay writer and was brave enough to take on my words and put them to music. It's a spiritual moment to 'hear your song on the radio." 200 Books: The Proximity Principle by Ken Coleman
Want or Need to Change Your Life? Do what the billionaires do - Read. Warren Buffet reads 200 books every year. It's his habit, the way he has wired himself to be.  I'd like to be a billionaire too. Wouldn't you? Pick Up A Book I know I need to change my life if I'm going to do the things I dream of doing. Doing what I'm doing now, or have been doing, hasn't gotten me there yet, so why do I think those habits are going to get me someplace other than where I already am?  The journey is up to us, kind of. Each of us has a purpose to fulfill, but it's up to us to pay attention - to the signs, the path, all the things the universe is trying to tell us if we're going to reach the destination. We've got to follow the instructions, but where are they? The instructions are inside of us. Getting the out and onto the table takes time, patience, and the right people along your path to help you unlock all those doors standing between you and your dreams. You've got to put yourself into the proximity of people who are doing what you want to be doing and learn everything you can from them, the experts.  Read the essay 200 Books in a Year: The Proximity Principle by Ken Coleman here. Introducing the Dystopian Diaries E1 on Write Speak Play
When the idea of a podcast began to formulate, I knew I would want to include sharing my stories, fiction and non-fiction with the listening audience. Some episodes I'll share essays and book chapters, and others I'll share fiction stories. In this episode of Write Speak Play, I'm sharing the first two entries of my serial fiction story, Dystopian Diaries.  This story had been rolling around in my head but I didn't know how to 'write it out,' until I was nudged with a writing prompt from The Bad Influence, a publication on Medium. One thing led to another, the story developed and so did new characters. WARNING - This story contains graphic 'images' that may be disturbing to some people. Kristen Vinson, Healer, on Write Speak Play
It's amazing what happens when you make decisions, give those dreams up to the universe and wait to receive. Three years ago, Kristen Vinson left corporate American and decided she would make three times the money doing half the work, with Grace and Ease. Then she made the brave decision to step into the person she is meant to be and started helping the people she is meant to help.  One of those people is me.  Her ability to tap into messages we need to hear from the divine and present them as needed to us lets us step into our own truth, becoming the people we are meant to be, is Kristen's superpower.  Kristen provides others with the ability to see clearly. She wipes away beliefs imposed upon us by others who lived in darkness, sometimes through trauma, other times from fear. Kristen is a woman on a mission, she is strong in her beliefs - she knows.  Being in her presence, hearing her message, you can feel the strength in her belief in herself and the messages she is receiving because she knows she is in alignment with the highest vibrations possible, attracting to her all she is meant to have so she can continue to serve her purpose while on this journey. The Force is Strong is this One.  I hope you enjoy this interview. I'm working to bring Kristen on as a reoccurring 'guest,' really I want her to do a weekly episode of "11:11 with Kristen Vinson, on WSP." Ask Kristen a question or two and let her go, let her bring in the angels and messages we need to hear for the week. If you're interested in why 11:11, I think this piece by Willow Soul Heals provides the best explanation possible. This evolution of Write Speak Play and is in alignment with my desires too: To help us all, myself included, break past our fears and step into the person we are meant to become, to help those we are meant to help and live the life we each dream of. All of this is possible when we keep ourselves in line with our purpose.  What is your life like right now? Ready for a change?  You can do it, with Grace and Ease. Jana Bommersbach Talks Truth on Write Speak Play
Jana Bommersback has always been on a quest for the truth. Starting in the school library in her North Dakota small town, she discovered what so many other writers discover: I want to write stories too. I was introduced to Jana's book deadgirlinavacantlot by Natalie at Spotlight publishing while writing Anger into Action, delving into our language and our complicity when it comes to the Sex Trade Industry. When I began to learn more about Jana, I knew I needed to talk with her and the books she writes: Stories that tell the truth of events that wronged mostly women, like the story of Cattle Kate who was murdered for her land and labeled the way women usually were in the west, a horrible woman and a filthy whore, when someone wanted them dead. I'm looking forward to talking with Jana again and playing a round of golf soon. I noticed her clubs during our recording and she lives close by! It will be fun to go play a round of golf with this seeker of the truth. Write Speak Play with Guest Lara Piu
In this episode, I talk with Author, Entrepreneur, Spiritual Medium, and very close personal friend of mine, Lara Piu. As our relationship has grown over the years, both professionally and personally, I have continued to be amazed by this woman and her Super Powers. Inner Glow Marketing https://www.facebook.com/innerglowcommunications/ Live to Listen https://www.live-to-listen.com/ Lara on Contently https://larapiu.contently.com/ While editing Lara's book "Hear God Now: Divine Guidance for Women on the Go," we discovered even deeper connections. Or, I should say, I discovered how wise this woman is, and how important it is to listen to her. As a writer, Lara understands the importance of telling our story. She points out the importance of documenting the moments when we feel we are hearing the messages of the divine. "Writing it down and expressing how those messages felt, helps to sort between divine and distraction." See how smart she is? This was the first of many more talks I hope to have with Lara on Write Speak Play. This is just the second interview of the podcast (!) and my interviewing skills are still warming up, so I look forward to talking with Lara again so I can ask better questions :) Big News! I've been receiving notification from Anchor that Write Speak Play is now available on a bunch more platforms like: Apple Podcasts Google Podcasts Pocketcast Radio Public Breaker Thanks so much for listening. Write Speak Play talks with Dijana Llugolli
What an honor to have as the first guest on Write Speak Play, Dijana Llugolli, the powerhouse of passion and creator of Fearless and Successful Femprenuers. As a personal and professional development coach, Dijana offers more than motivation: She has the personal touch to do the handholding we all need to take the leap of faith we're all dreaming of, and create a solid business plan, walking you through the whole process from dream to reality. We had a fantastic two-hour conversation. As a guest on Write Speak Play, you'll hear Dijana's story of that moment, and then all the other moments that needed to connect, to get her where she is now: Fulfilling her purpose by following her passion and helping others to do the same. In her words, she tells us "if we're not helping someone, then we're hurting them. To help others is to be who you are meant to be." I'm personally, and now professionally grateful that Dijana jumped when she came that cliff of do-or-die. It was the enthusiasm in her voice and the honesty of her message that inspired me to launch this podcast, taking my own dreams to a whole new level.  The second half of our conversation was recorded for an episode of Dijana's podcast Fearless and Successful Femprenuers where she invites me to share my story of loss and discovery and how Dijana has been an inspiration - or the flame under my a**! - to take the leap of faith and pursue my passion FEARLESS. The Next Step of My Journey
Here it is, the first episode of Write Speak Play. In this episode, I, creator, and your host of Write Speak Play Nanci Arvizu, share my story.  The part that begins with an ending and begins again, heading in a new direction.  A year ago I had very different ideas for the future. This is the story of how one day life was fine and the next, forever changed. How small events lead to big discoveries and why the stories of our lives are important, to those around us and to those who will come after us.  Every story is important. This podcast was created to encourage women to write their stories and speak their truth. I look forward to hosting guests on future episodes, providing space to share experiences and offer hope to those who find themselves stuck somewhere along their own journey.  Here is my story, up to now. The yet to be written parts are up to me.
