Episode 5: Jeez Loueez, Number One Burlesque Entertainer in the World 2 Years Running, Actress, Honey Badger

In our fifth episode, we talk with Jeez Loueez, "The Honey Badger of Burlesque," voted the Number One Burlesque Entertainer in the World via 21st Century Burlesque for two years running (this year sharing the title with Lola van Ella—together they form LoLeezBo)! Jeez has performed at and hosted shows at the prestigious Burlesque Hall of Fame, produced tons of burlesque and variety shows (including Jeezy's Juke Joint and online LoLeezBo shows with Lola van Ella live-streamed from their living room), and taught burlesque and twerk classes everywhere from burlesque festivals to college campuses to the internet. In addition to her many achievements as an ecdysiast, Jeez is an accomplished actress, appearing in the soon to be released Finesse series as well as the film Outrageous. Obscenely talented in so many ways, Jeez enjoys making spicy content for her fan sites when she isn't on set or on stage.

In this episode, we talk about how strip clubs work, what it's like to be naked on film sets during a pandemic, how Jeez rose from getting a C tap dancing and stripping in musical theater class to being voted the #1 Burlesque Figure in the World two years running, and much, much more!

This episode was recorded in January 2021 & is being released February 18, 2021.

Episode 3: Synamin Vixen, Trained Professional Dancer, Sex/Sensuality Educator, Your Friendly Neighborhood Black Dominatrix

In our third episode, we talk with Synamin Vixen, a professionally trained dancer who taught dance for many years before stepping onto the burlesque stage. We learn about how Synamin carved out a space for herself in the burlesque scene in New Orleans and very soon after began producing her own shows and teaching burlesque, as well as how she and her partner, John collaborate as artists and as sex/fetish workers. In addition to her life onstage, Synamin walks us through how she has come to embrace her calling as a sex educator and how she is using her platform to create safe spaces, particularly for Black people, to explore BDSM, sensuality, and fetish. We also discuss how she got into making her own herbal tinctures for healing, what the heck a chakra is, what "phrasing" really means, and why Netflix's "Bonding" is a way healthier & more accurate representation of kink culture than "50 Shades of Gray."

This episode was recorded on July 24, 2020 & is being released August 7, 2020.

Episode 2: Ariana Amour, Regent Unicorn of Burlesque, Trans Showgirl Icon, Lover of Buffalo Wings

In our second episode, we talk with Ariana Amour, award-winning, internationally travelled showgirl, barrier-breaking trans woman of color, and my right hand at The Society of Sin Burlesque & Variety. We learn about how Ariana got her start in nightlife by working behind the scenes at New Orleans' biggest gay nightclub, Oz, where she helped out with drag shows, did social media work, and coordinated events before she ever stepped onto the burlesque stage and how her transition and starting hormones lined up with her decisions to begin her stage career. In addition to her talents in the performing arts, Ariana is an accomplished astrologer and tarot practitioner, and we get to learn a little bit about astrology, what the heck a "sun sign" is & how astrology has changed over the years to become the beloved queer art form that it is today. In addition, Ariana discusses her feelings about the #BlackLivesMatter movement, transgender rights activism (f*ck JK Rowling), how to aspire to be an excellent ally to those fighting oppression in 2020, and much more!

This episode was recorded on June 17, 2020 & is being released July 11, 2020.
