With the influence of social media and technology, the world we live in today is different from that of previous generations — especially in terms of religion. This includes discovering important aspects of who you are, such as your religious beliefs, gender identity, sexuality and career path. The Bleed Issue 3; Ep. 1: They Speak for the Trees

During the pandemic, SF State’s 40-acres of landscaping were maintained by just three people on some days, according to Murphy. At times, those who tended to the plant life were the only ones walking the paths of the mostly deserted campus. Now, despite the fact that the team is 14 people strong, an exponential increase in foot traffic from the height of the pandemic makes it such that the larger team is just able to cover the school’s day-to-day routine maintenance. On this episode of the Bleed, Oliver Michelsen speaks with members of SF State's grounds team about the challenges of caring for the campus greenery.

Mezcal is known for its earthy, smokey taste—which comes from smoking the agave in ovens that have been dug in the earth. This flavor is one of the reasons why the spirit's popularity has grown in the last 15 years. According to U.S. Department of Agriculture, in 2009 and 2010, U.S. mezcal imports averaged about $1.8 million per year. Since then, imports rose on average $7.8 million, reaching a total of $85.6 million yearly imports for 2021.
