21. The Self Specialist w/Mercedelli Graciano

Mercedelli Graciano, also known as "Mercy G" is a Mental Health Counselor and self-published author who traveled the world of entertainment through a former career as a dancer/choreographer, actress, model and TV production assistant.
After transitioning through a career via the education sector and seeing the need for emotional intelligence in kids, she decided to give back to the world by starting The Self Specialist. In an effort to help people become the best version of themselves her main drive is Self-Love with an understanding of Self-Awareness, Self-Care and Self-Control.
In her own words, “It all starts from within; if we are able to look at ourselves and notice the markings we leave imprinted through our paths, we would be more conscious of how we act and interact. Being self-centered and selfish is actually not a bad thing if done in a healthy way. To be self-centered is to be grounded and to be selfish is to establish boundaries.”
Mercedelli has been writing poetry since age 12, but recently decided to begin publishing her work through the most popular social media platforms. "I hope to publish a book one day, but my heart has to be in the right place. You can't rush emotions. You can get hurt like that." This was her reply when asked about publishing for print. Now, she brings about all her emotional thoughts to paper with "The Awakening Of My Senses", her first book. Her hope is to enlighten the emotional path of everyone who comes across her writing.

11. Books & Branding w/Angela Abreu

Angela "Angy"  Abreu is a Dominican-American mom, writer and community organizer.  Angy firmly believes that “if it does not exist then you must create it.” As a poet and community organizer, in 2014 she co-founded Wordat4F,Where Community Activism Meets the Arts”,a grassroots traveling open mic series that cultivated a love of spoken word, poetry and literature in the Uptown (Washington Heights, Inwood & Bronx) communities of New York City. Wordat4F began as an open mic series requested and hosted in secret locations and later made a home in Apt78, a local community hub. Wordat4F participated in Sankofa “Slamnesty: Activism through storytelling” and hosted the first ever Poetry Slam Competition in Washington Heights.  In 2015, feeling dismissed as a Dominican American writer in many literary spaces, she decided to create the Dominican Writers Association a 501 c3 non-profit organization solely dedicated to highlighting content that not only promotes the works of Dominican Writers but also provides them with the tools and resources necessary for their development. Angy is the Creative Director of Dominican Writers and along with the Board manages and creates content that serves a large population of writers: www.dominicanwriters.com IG: @dominicanwriters  Twitter: @domwriters  inyaddyswords.co IG & Twitter: @yaddyv_____
