We learn about Lauren's experience navigating the application process and find out what a typical apprenticeship week could look like for her.

Young people’s reflections on our #NarrowtheGap research
This episode aims to explore the reflections of members of Youth Futures Foundation’s Ethnic Disparities Youth Reference Group on Youth Futures’ recently published research and their lived experiences of the barriers highlighted in the report.
The Ethnic Disparities Youth Reference Group helped to shape Youth Futures Foundation’s recent youth voice survey with Savanta through consulting on the research questions, contributing to a youth-led video project from members of the Future Voices Group on the barriers faced by young people from ethnic minority backgrounds and attending the launch of the research in parliament.

What is the research saying about youth unemployment?
What are some of the key issues in the youth unemployment right now according to the research? And how can we make positive, long-lasting, systemic change? In this episode, we learn more about what the current trends are in the youth labour market, and explore the key issues that are showing up in the research. We’ll also discuss, debate and share our reflections on what we’ve heard and consider some of the solutions to the issues we’ve noted.

Andrea Barry, Analysis Manager at Youth Futures Foundation, is joined by Freddie Martin from PwC for a discussion on the topic of young people not in education, employment or training (NEET). In the episode they also discuss some of the findings from the Youth Employment Index, a collaborative report developed by PwC and Youth Futures Foundation, looking to understand how governments and businesses in the UK can support young people to engage with education training and work.
