27 - Practical Shooting Skills Pt.2
We’re finally back at it. This week, (some of) the boys are back in town for another absurd episode. Katon and Evo once again return this time alongside YPT contributors Soju Operator and Kalashnikoffing. For those who missed the last episode, Katon is a newly minted USPSA Grand Master Class level shooter under the Carry Optics division and Evo is a security and EMT professional currently working towards medical school.
As one can imagine, only the SPICEST of takes are discussed here. Together, they cover various topics in regard to the firearms space including what it takes to reach Grand Master level, firearms training myths perpetuated by the left, process vs results-oriented training, why the idea of “gatekeeping” in the competitive shooting space is mostly bullshit, shit talking Tu Lam, and why MIRA Safety is a total joke of company.

26 - Puget Sound JB
As the crew describes it, they undertake efforts that the state can’t or won’t do. Hear how the crew not only provides a visible security presence at actions, but assists with planning, deescalation, and medical assistance as a counter to hostile far right actors.
You’ll hear community defense has evolved since 2020 beyond firearms, including efforts like sharing skills to others in the community.
On a more lighthearted note, hear about love the G19, which YPT contributor is a better shooter (Snow or Rose?), plus radio selection (and surprising tattoos thereof).

25 - Kafa Ukrianian Drone Pilot
On this week’s episode, John Chinaman was able to interview Ukrainian drone pilot and self described “queer disaster” Kafa. They are a non-binary anarchist who fought with the 93rd Mechanized Brigade in Bakhmut.
Content warning: this episode includes graphic descriptions of war, political repression, and violence.
Kafa told their story to YPT, from their journey growing up in Crimea, to fleeing after Russia’s 2014 invasion to Kyiv, to living in Berlin. They returned to Ukraine after Russia again invaded in 2022. They discuss what it’s like to be non-binary and an anarchist in the infantry.
Kafa describes why they decided to fight and how they enjoy army life. Kafa also addressed the debates in the West about whether the USA and others should give arms to Ukraine. Importantly, Kafa confirms that they are the They/Them Army everyone keeps talking about on Twitter 👀
P.S. Kafa is an avid birdwatcher, and they have requested books about birds in your native language. DM them if you’ve got a book!

24 - Grizzly Medical
Apologies for the hiatus! On this week’s episode of the Tiger Bloc Podcast, we feature a good friend and one of the best medical trainers in the business, Dan Bernal of Grizzly Medical!
Dan is a former US Army combat medic, having directly saved lives in missions as well as having taught Iraqi and Kurdish medics in joint combat operations. He also served as an on-site TCCC and EMT trainer. Recognizing a severe lack of knowledge for practical first aid training in the civilian world, Dan created Grizzly Medical. The company’s mission is to provide the latest in TCCC doctrine and combine this with live simulations in order to bring the most grounded, truth-to-life first-aid training possible to non-professionals.
Together, Soju Operator and Dan discuss the insufficiency of current Stop the Bleed training, why you should always be carrying a medical kit, medical misconceptions, first-hand experience in saving a man’s life, the tourniquet market, the value of live simulation training, and what his classes offer.

23 - Practical Shooting Skills
This week’s episode of the Tiger Bloc Podcast involves alcohol and hot takes. This ain’t your dad’s leftist gun podcast episode.
Joining Soju Operator is Katon who returns once more, this time with his guest, Evo. For those who unaware, Katon is a USPSA Master Class level shooter under the Carry Optics division and Evo has an extensive professional background in security work, firearms training, and medical first aid.
Together, the 3 of them get intoxicated and start laying their hottest takes and takeaways on how to actually get good at shooting, dispelling the myth of being the “jack of all trades”, why you should stop listening to YouTubers for practical advice, why your favorite dry fire gizmo probably sucks, why it’s ok to challenge others, and the power of love.

9 - Jake Hanrahan | Popular Front
This week on the Tiger Bloc Podcast, we’re excited to share with you our conversation with Jake Hanrahan, the journalist best know for his conflict journalist project, Popular Front. Popular Front reports on underreported conflicts from around the world. Jake has been all over, to places like Artsakh, Ukraine, and Rojava. We talked about what makes Popular Front unique — it’s entirely listener funded. When examining global conflicts, one of the things that Jake shared with us was the democratization of anti-government techniques and strategies. From the use of commercial drones, to Internet forums to share strategies, and even 3D printing firearms from free plans online.
Of course, many of our followers may know Jake from his documentary Plastic Defense, where he spoke to JStark, one of the designers behind the Fuck Gun Control 9 (FGC-9). The FGC-9 is a special gun, one that can be assembled with a 3D printer and a pipe using no actual firearm parts. In America, there’s a tendency for legacy media and American residents to view foreign conflicts through an American lens.
We talked about how legacy media not only ignores nuance, but so do Western leftists, disregarding nuance to fit preconceived ideological schema. We also wanted to talk to Jake about his new podcast, Megacorp. On the show, Jake explores and exposes the behavior or the world’s most unethical corporations. And where better to start than Amazon. We talked with Jake about how Amazon has managed to amass the powers one would normally associate with a state — vast wealth and a lack of accountability to any laws excepts its own. All while Amazon abuses workers, some of whom have died in its warehouses. But how to stop it? Unionization would be the natural answer. But even though interest in unions is growing in the United States, the unionization rate overall remains low. And in the UK, the younger generation seems to have have lost interest.
This all may seem like unrepentant doomerism, but as Jake said, “If Rome fell this shit can.” What do young people have to lose?
8 - Hevalti Tactical
On this episode, Soju, John Chinaman, and podcast newcomer Hi-C talk to Jesse from Hevalti Tactical! Jesse makes innovative gear, shoots IDPA and USPSA competitively, and has a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. You may recognize Jesse’s gear from Tacticool Girlfriend and his Instagram. Jesse explains to us his minimalist design philosophy and the challenges in being a “leftist” gear maker. And right now, there’s a lot of challenges in starting a business making quality gear. A conversation with Jesse wouldn’t be complete without discussing competitive shooting. Jesse’s excellent at it, but even for a newer shooter, hear him explain why it’s a good way to challenge yourself and hone your skills. If this sounds like it’s for you, Jesse tells you how to get involved. The last of Jesse’s passions we discussed is his considerable experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It’s an excellent way to stay fit and learn unarmed self defense skills. If you’re in Jesse’s area, don’t hesitate to reach out, because he’s itching to share knowledge. And the most important lesson we learned in our conversation — let your own failures inspire you.
7 - Cerise Castle | #GoogleLASDGangs
This week we have a very special episode. John Chinaman, Camila, and Snow interview the wonderful investigative reporter Cerise Castle about her work investigating gangs within the LA County Sheriff’s Department. #GoogleLASDGangs. By this time, everyone has seen the hashtag. It was Cerise Castle’s tireless investigative journalism which bled the lid off deputy gangs within LASD. Executioners. Vikings. Regulators. The names of these gangs are now infamous. You’ll hear from Cerise about how the investigation got started, what we know, and how much we still don’t know. What we do know is that the Department is infested with over a dozen gangs which hunt, kill, and abuse they people they’re supposed to protect. The problem goes all the way from deputies on the beat all the way to the highest levels within the department. The presence of these gangs and the violence they perpetrate seems like something out of a movie. But it’s happening now. Any discussion on the Tiger Bloc Podcast wouldn’t be complete without finding out how people who live in LA County are working to end deputy gangs and how Cerise feels about guns
6 - Alana McLaughlin | Lady Feral
On this episode of the Tiger Bloc Podcast, Soju, Snow, and Camila are joined by a complete and an utter badass...THE Lady Feral herself, Alana McLaughlin! For those not in the know, Alana is the second ever openly transgender woman mixed martial arts fighter, who just made her professional debut on Combate Global. She is also a former US Army Special Forces Green Beret now turned leftist activist, currently doing community outreach work for not only trans but also marginalized communities in the Portland area.
Alana sits down with the YPT team to discuss her first professional fight, training in mixed martial arts, overcoming adversity as a transgender woman in combat sports, how her military background disillusioned her from American imperialism, and what leftists can do to support the trans community.
By the way, we just started our Patreon! If you would like to support YPT’s ongoing efforts in podcast, mutual aid, or other forms of content, consider subscribing to us. All proceeds go to covering costs of the podcast, the rest will go towards mutual aid organizations.

3 - Not.Yr.Boyfriend
On this week’s episode of Yellow Peril Tactical: The Tiger Bloc Podcast, Soju Operator is once again joined by Snow and John Chinaman as they have a goofy but informative conversation with Odie, also known as, Not.yr.Boyfriend. Odie is a street medic, harm prevention activist, firearms instructor, content creator, and organizer based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Much of their work has been popularized through the Zines they’ve created that focus on mental health and relationship building as well as medical training.
Together, the YPT crew and Odie discuss on the ground community organizing, mental health considerations with firearms ownership, what the media refuses to cover about Minneapolis post-George Floyd, what community defense actually means, and stuff white people do.
Oh and if you live in Minneapolis, DO NOT RANK JACOB FREY. He’s an asshole and should not be mayor.

1 - Yellow Peril Tactical
Welcome to the first episode of Yellow Peril Tactical: The Tiger Bloc Podcast! We’re excited to connect with our audience on new and interesting platforms. For those that do not already know, Yellow Peril Tactical is an Asian-American, armed leftist group dedicated to educating marginalized communities on the practice of firearms and self-defense. We are primarily a social media page that collaborates with various users to present the most up to date information that is easily accessible to leftists and oppressed groups.
In this episode, Yellow Peril Tactical contributors Soju Operator, Snow, and John Chinaman come together to discuss the origins and intent of YPT, how they became gun owners, the various challenges navigating the gun world as Asian-Americans and people of the LGBTQA community, as well as stupid trends among leftist gun owners that need to stop. Oh and we take shots at Lucas Botkin of T. Rex Arms because he’s garbage.
Join us in the Tiger’s Den and let us know what topics you want to hear us discuss next!
