It’s a young lady who has been on the scene for a little while now, and is known for her consistent ethic and passion for the sport. In doing so, the Association actually sets the path for the Philippines to win its first Olympic gold. While they do not know that at the time, what they do is still unprecedented – in their selection of a young Hidilyn Diaz, not only do they send only the sixth weightlifter in Filipino history to the Olympics, they also send the first female weightlifter."
