Choose the way of life

Choose the way of life

Embrace the life and the grace of God. I meditate on Psalm 1. When I meditate on the law of God, the first thing that comes to my mind is the acknowledgment that God is sovereign and merciful. We must see and honor God as God, which means we must allow for the power of God in our lives and acknowledge our utter dependence on God.

Lex Talionis (retaliation law)

Lex Talionis (retaliation law)

What do you think is the purpose of lex talionis (retaliation law) in Exodus 21:22-25? Long ago I wrote about this text and I am proud of this essay because it reinterprets the traditional understanding of it.

Stand on God’s side, not merely having God by your side

Stand on God’s side, not merely having God by your side

People say they love God but we must check whether their way of loving is truly the love of God that God affirms. We must stand on God’s side by studying what God wants. Don’t simply have God by your side to magnify yourself or your community only.

You determine your own happiness. Believe in yourself

You determine your own happiness. Believe in yourself

Our happiness does not depend on others or external conditions. Be yourself and find happiness within you. This does not mean you must be separated from others. What I mean is "it is you" who must be the authority of yourself.
