Morning Devotions with Larry Quicksall

Good Morning!  Daily communion with Jesus is what he desires.  To have us commune and talk with him draws us closer and closer to His presence.

When you see something new at a family potluck dinner do you question whether or not you should try a piece.  Do you fear it might taste yucky?  Do you need some encouragement to overcome your fear?  Today's devotional starts with the encouraging words "Taste and see that I am good."  God wants us to try Him and see that His blessings are wonderful, so that we want more and more of Him and His peace.

Good Morning!  When things are hard and overwhelming, what do you do?  When you cannot handle it anymore, what do you do?  In today's devotion we learn that God wants us to give everything to him, because he can handle it and in His way has already handled it - it just needs to be revealed in His perfect timing.  What can free us of this burden?  Simply saying and believing with the words "I trust you, Jesus."

Good Morning!  Have you ever thought about how much time and energy you spend trying to figure out and plan for what is in the future?  If you are like me, you probably spend more time than you want to admit.  However, what does Jesus want us to do?  Take Him by the hand, live in His presence, and take care of things in their proper season leaving everything else up to Him.  How do we do that?  Let's find out together!

Good Morning! When you give someone a gift you hope that the other person appreciates what they are being given.  However, when you make a significant sacrificial gift you want the other person to be receptive and appreciative in a way that demonstrates they understand the sacrifice and importance of the gift.  Jesus' sacrificial gift on the cross is the gift that keeps giving for both our salvation and for living in His presence.  Do we really understand and appreciate this gift as we should.  What would Jesus have us do with His Gift?  Let's find out.

Good Morning!  When we spend time in the presence of Jesus He is best able to renew our minds for His purposes in our lives.  One of the benefits of allowing Him to the be the center of our life is avoiding making His blessings unintended idols that rob us of what God has instore.  Lets dig into this idea in today's devotion.

Good Morning!  Are you a patient waiter?  Can you wait in joyful anticipation?  You answer may vary depending upon the circumstances, but Jesus wants us to wait on Him in to grow in faith and to desire His purposes and plans for our daily lives.  Let's dig into this topic in today's devotion.

Good Morning!  Thankfulness and Gratitude are two very important attitudes and actions to Jesus.  They also need to be important to us as it allows us to have a proper perspective of the  of sovereignty of God.

Good Morning!  How do we let go of what is precious to us?  Why would we let go?  That seems foolish at first glance, because we need to protect it or control it or we need it to help us get by!  But, can we really protect or control it?  Do we really need it to make us complete?  No.  We need to release it into the loving hands of Jesus, freeing us of a responsibility we cannot hold, and allowing us to recognize and accept that Jesus is the only one who can and does make us complete.

Good Morning!  Our God is a god of incredible detail and abundance able to meet all of our needs.  His blessings flow in amazing ways, and when we are tune with His Will we are blown away!

Good Morning!  Today's devotion reminds us that practicing trust and thankfulness in our daily walk allows us to be useful vessels for the works of Jesus.

Good Morning!  Trusting Jesus can be hard or easy depending upon where you stand.  When you stand in His presence it can become so easy that it is a joyful way of life.  Can you imagine that?  Is that where you would like to be?  Pursue time in His presence, stretch your faith with trust, and grow in confident trust and conscious awareness of Jesus.

Good Morning!  Have you ever primed an old well pump in order to get water out of it.  Well, priming our relationships and prayer time with thanksgiving can bring forth an abundance of gratitude!

Good Morning!  When God speaks to us it is from the depths of our being.  Yes, He may speak in an audible voice as with Moses, but most likely it is through the Holy Spirit who dwells deep inside in a way we were designed and created to experience.  He wants to lead us into holy living by following His lead and allowing us to act through Him.  What an amazing opportunity that we so easily miss or ignore.  In today's devotion I want to encourage you to make room for Him in your daily life and see what amazing things happen.

Good Morning!  Trust is hard.  Trust is hard with people, because there is disappointment in this fallen world.  Even people we know the best and longest who love us dearly can be hard to trust at times.  So how are we supposed to trust someone or something we cannot see: God.  That is where relationship come in along with what we believe about God.  We get in the way of a trusting relationship with Him because we wrongly apply the attributes of fallen, sinful humanity onto God.  God is unique, so we need to get to know and trust him differently.  And in doing so we learn to trust Him deeper and more fully one day at a time.

Good Morning!  We humans have a need to understand what is happening, what is going on around us.  However, Jesus wants us to understand ourselves first as He understands us.  He knows us intimately (the good, the bad, and the ugly) yet sees us through His eyes of Grace.  I loved this devotional today, and I hope you do as well.

Most of us think it is good to be strong, but in today's devotion we look at idea that it is good to recognize our weakness.  Because when we are weak we look to needed strength.  Jesus say for us to look towards Him in our weakness for His Strength!

Did you ever stop to think that Jesus loves you so much that His words are actually a love song that he continually sings to you?  I hadn't either, but after recording this podcast it is a great idea that helps me to see His love for me in a new way, and I hope today's devotion does the same for you.

We can become happy in many different ways, but JOY is something different.  Receiving JOY by spending time in the presence of Jesus provides a spring of JOY that is ever flowing regardless of the circumstances!

Good Morning!  There are various circumstances we experience that is outside of our control; however, that does not mean we are to reflect those circumstances in our life.  Jesus want us to Learn to Live Above Our Circumstances by focusing on Him and seeing things from His perspective.

Good Morning!  If you want to make a strong rope you need to twist together three strands.  God uses this and similar examples to demonstrate the strength He give to you and I as we live and thrive through Him in this fall world.  Let's talk about how Jesus strengthens us through expectantly waiting through hopeful trust.

Good Morning!   Imagine a pilot takes you up in his plane, teaches you a little bit about the controls, then gives you the opportunity to take the controls and fly a little under his direction and watchful eye.  How cool would that be?!?!  Did you realize that when you are walking by faith and not by sight with Jesus that is what he is doing with you?  When we align ourselves with his presence, purposes, and plans, then he gives us HIS opportunities, power, and strength to take part in his amazing plans.

Good Morning!  Isn't it funny how deep the root of insecurity can be in our lives, even when we are reassured over and over again?  In today's devotion we are going to focus on how God assures us that he loves us for all time and beyond.

Good Morning!  When feeling distress, upset, or lost how do you sooth yourself?  Do you run to the world and try to gain strength there?  Or do you center and sooth yourself in the presence of Jesus in your life?  Is it not enough to simply know this without practice, for though continued seeking of Jesus' presence we gain the benefits of experiential learning that leads us to Jesus again and again.
