Diana Derringer: How to Choose Joy in the Midst of Struggle

Diana Derringer: How to Choose Joy in the Midst of Struggle

"From the beginning, we recognized a need to choose. Our first choice was: would we let our circumstances defeat us or would we choose to make the most of our situation?" - Diana Derringer

Diana Derringer is a writer and international ministry worker. She is passionate about sharing the message of hope and joy that is possible when people turn to Jesus in faith. Diana has written Christian radio dramas that are broadcast in numerous languages around the world.

This is Diana Derringer's story...

I'm Diana Derringer, and I love sharing the message of hope that's possible when people turn to Jesus in faith. I've been through some tough times in my life – my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor and later suffered a stroke, heart attack, and fall with a severe brain injury – but through it all, I've learned to rely on God's never-changing nature, not my ever-changing emotions. I would encourage others who are going through tough times to do the same – to embrace God's love and promises, even when they can't see or feel them. Trust that God will carry you through every difficulty and that He can use even the worst circumstances to bring good into your life.

In this episode, you will learn the following:

1. How Diana Derringer chose joy after her husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor and then experienced a stroke, heart attack, and fall with a severe brain injury
2. How Diana's writing has opened doors for her to reach more people than she could have through international mission trips
3. How God can use the worst of our circumstances to bring good out of them

Choices with Celia Faye Meisel: Rebuilding Your Life and Business After Burnout

Choices with Celia Faye Meisel: Rebuilding Your Life and Business After Burnout

"I am very passionate about systems, processes, streamlining, communication, and building relationships. And I'm passionate about these components because they support me. I support business owners with designing their businesses around their lifestyle vision and being able to make it a reality."

This is Celia Faye Meisel's story...  Celia Meisel was burnt out from working seven days a week and decided she needed a change.

Resources:

Chapter Summaries:  [00:01:20] - I am passionate about systems, processes, streamlining, communication, and building relationships. I also support business owners with designing their businesses around their lifestyle vision and being able to make it a reality so they have more control over their lives. It's so easy to get into reaction mode and it's exhausting.

[00:02:04] - In the summer of 2013, at the age of 33, when she was working seven days a week, she had a complete health crisis. Because of stress and anxiety, she decided to change her career and start a new one. The struggle made her a stronger person.

[00:05:43] - How do you learn to listen to yourself more so that you don't go down that path again? I spend a lot of time in the quiet. I like to do self-development work away from business and focus on Celia. Reading books, journaling, taking courses, and listening to inner nudges has helped me to build a life where I trust myself.

[00:07:23] - In 2008 when she first got into business, she didn't know what coaching was. She hired her first coach and she stepped onto a new path in life. She worked on a sales team for a couple of years and got a high rank in sales and evolved into marketing and business development.

[00:09:12] - People who are feeling burnt out and need to change should listen to their hearts and have people in their lives that they can talk to where they can express themselves. Every dream needs a leap of faith and practical action steps to get there so people need to be open to seeing them and receiving them.

[00:11:10] - People need a supportive community to talk to and get perspective from. Online communities like Facebook Groups and Meetupcom social networks are a good place to start. People need to be able to verbalize that they need help and what kind of help they need because people can't read their minds.

[00:13:48] - She has a free gift for Entrepreneurs: Mindset mantras to fast track and be a multiple six-figure CEO in your business.

[00:16:32] - Ruth encourages her listeners to check out Celia's website and take advantage of the free gift she offers to help them with their struggles. The struggle is not the end of the story, and it could be the beginning.

Choices: Resilience, Collaboration, and Gratitude with Natalie Forest

I'm Natalie Forest, and I'm passionate about helping people reconnect with their inner talents and gifts. A few years ago, I found myself in a difficult situation where I felt like I was living a strange life that I couldn't escape from. I was becoming less and less able to breathe. It was a big decision to make, but I decided to move back to my hometown with my daughter. It was a scary experience, but it has made me a stronger person. Since then, I have been able to join a transformational leader group that is based on collaboration instead of competition. I have also been able to travel more and connect with my family. My advice to anyone going through a similar experience is to follow your intuition, be grateful, and believe in yourself.

In this video, you will learn:

1. The importance of knowing your audience, yourself, and the market when writing a book

2. The benefits of collaboration over competition
