AI's Impact on Digital Citizenship ft. Dr. Kofi Nyarko
Welcome to One on One with 1:1. In this episode, we delve into the topic of digital citizenship with our special guest, Dr. Kofi Nyarko. Dr. Nyarko is a tenured Professor at Morgan State University, where he directs the Center for Equitable Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Systems (CEAMLS) and the Data Engineering and Predictive Analytics (DEPA) Research Lab. With over 25 years of experience in intelligent and autonomous systems, he has made significant contributions to machine learning architectures, computer vision, and knowledge discovery.
During the interview, we explore the evolving landscape of digital citizenship alongside advancements in AI and machine learning. Dr. Nyarko highlights the potential for AI to promote equity in schools and discusses how educators can teach students the necessary skills to navigate the rapidly evolving AI technologies while ensuring their safety and privacy.
Moreover, we address the importance of understanding personal data and privacy concerns when using technologies like wearable devices. Additionally, we examine the challenge of combating nefarious uses of AI and strategies to mitigate their impact.
