The Comeback Episode: Justifying Hereditary Rule
Today is all about "Justifying Hereditary Rule".
The Sovereign was regarded by Confucius as inherently superior. His task was to model perfect behavior, setting a good example to those below him.
Ministers and Advisors played an important role as "middle men" between sovereign and his subjects. They had a duty of loyalty to both parties.
The People, given a good example to follow and a clear idea of what was expected of them, would behave correctly, according to Confucius.

Political Moralism and Political Realism
Another Saturday is here! Today, Yzi talked about the difference of Political moralism and Political realism. Political moralism is the practice of making moral decisions on political behavior and political agents while Political realism stresses the position of the nation-state and makes a general assertion that all nation-states are guided by national or, at best, moral interests. Introduction
"If everyone could have everything they wanted whenever they wanted, there will be no such thing as politics".
Today, Yzi starts off with the introduction of the book "The Politics Book" by DK and Penguin Random House. Among the things she said arose the questions: Who should rule? What powers should political rulers have, and how do the claims to legitimacy of political rulers compare to other sources of authority, such as that of the family, or the claims of religious authority?
Any answer to those questions? You can send her a message linked down below.

"Political society exists for the sake of noble actions, and not of mere companionship."
~ Aristotle
The Politics Podcast
What if I tell you that the famous names like Confucius, Aristotle, Chandragupta Maurya, and Niccolo Machiavelli involved themselves in politics? Will you believe me? Will you believe me if I tell that all men are created equal and that property is theft? All this is true in The Politics Book.
