3 Geeks and a Microphone

By 3 Geeks and a Microphone

Between the years of 1970 and 1995, Gen-Xers entertained themselves with an endless supply of movies, television shows, and cartoons. We grew from after school specials, to video rentals, to streaming obscure television shows online for nostalgia. And now three of us are armed with microphones. Listen in while we explore the influences of our formative years - from the small screen to the big screen, the toy box to our mental stashes of one liners and movie quotes.

We're 3 Geeks and a Microphone, dissecting retro geek nostalgia one podcast at a time.

Blue Thunder (1983)

Blue Thunder (1983)

Welcome back to another episode of Three Geeks and a Microphone. Today's topic is the 80's flick, Blue Thunder. Spoiler Alert - we dissect this movie like a frog in 9th grade biology. No movie cliché, bad corpse acting, or idiotic driving down a one way street is safe from being laughed at or scrutinized. The nostalgia of Los Angeles in the 80s, trivia tidbits and pop culture references, and possibly the secret beginning of Skynet also come up. And if you pay attention while we walk you through the movie, you won't fall into any of the giant plot holes.
