The Suicide Squad (2021) with Bill Bodkin

This week, Justin, Alex, & Noah welcome special guest Bill Bodkin, Editor in Chief of ThePopBreak.com to discuss James Gunn's return to the big screen, The Suicide Squad (2021). All four of us have a blast breaking down the highs and lows of this R-rated super hero spectacular from hell, including our favorite members of the vast ensemble, our love of unconventional pets, and the surprising amount of emotional engagement the film inspired.

In their Full Disclosure segment, Justin, Alex, Noah & Bill also shine their light on a few other films and TV they’ve been watching, including the classic anime series Cowboy Bebop; HBO's 100 Foot Wave; The Green Knight (2021); CODA (2021); and Jungle Cruise (2021).

Please follow all of our guest Bill's work on his website, The Pop Break, including his weekly pop culture podcast Socially Distanced, which features news and reviews to the TV and movies at the center of the discourse. Last week, Alex guested on an episode to have a very different kind of discussion on The Suicide Squad, so be sure the check that out as well.

2020 in Review, Part II

2020 in Review, Part II

Franchise installments and Oscar hopefuls were nowhere to be found for most of 2020, and that left a ton of time to catch up on all those films we'd been putting off. In the second half of our 2020 retrospective, we skim the cream of the crop from our non-2020 film diaries to breakdown everything we caught up with. From our favorite classics, modern classics, and rewatches, to which actors and filmmakers from yesteryear we fell in love with while we were living in our quarantine bubbles, we share the many silver linings we encountered along the way that helped make 2020 just a tad more bearable.
