Belonging and Chaos - Reflections on Borderland 2024 with Rich and Synes

🔗 The Membership Lottery for Borderland 2025 is open until February 25! More information here: https://talk.theborderland.se/main/In this episode, we discuss our experiences at Borderland 2024, exploring how Microsolidarity—the art of building trust in small groups—might transform large, self-organizing festivals. We reflect on the challenges of navigating such a sprawling, decentralized event: the disorientation that comes from not having a clear "home base" for a week, the struggle of balancing personal agency with surrender, and the surprising cultural tensions that arise when diverse preferences meet dominant aesthetics. We also sniff out ideas for creating intentional micro-structures—small groups, purpose-driven camps, and better onboarding processes—that can turn potentially overwhelming experiences into connective ones.Is it possible to craft spaces that feel like home within the chaos? Can we design better onboarding experiences for first-timers? And what does it take to truly let go and follow the flow?💬 Let us know your thoughts and further questions in the comments below!Find Rich on Twitter: @RichDecibelsAnd Synes on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@softaccesshttps://www.microsolidarity.cc/

The notacoliving experiment - a 1 month community the making, w/ Kathrin David & Jocelyn Ames

Kathrin and Jocelyn had a very mutually supportive conversation talking about the 1-month community experiment she's about to launch in southern Spain. Jocelyn was eager to chat with her as it sounded somewhat similar to what she's doing in the Yincubator (and is just 2hrs down the road!). It was clearly helpful and inspiring to hear about each other's approach, concepts and intentions. Notacoliving website: https://giveandgrow.world/notacoliving Find us... Experiments in Co-Living (Part 2) with Abi & Jocelyn

Jocelyn and Abi are back again for more reflections on their experiences with co-living! In this episode the focus is on clarifying the purpose of your co-living group, and how to go about finding or building a group that is in alignment with that vision. They give some great examples of different co-living experiments they've visited and been part of, and end with a reflection on what happens when expectations are not met, or clash with each other. Tune in for Part 3 which will be all about navigating conflict and how to 'end well' when someone wants to leave the group.

Dreaming into the future of the Network

In yesterday's Network Call Gui and Jonas hosted an inquiry into what we're individually and collectively visioning for the Microsolidarity Network, and how it can support us in the year ahead. See the prompts written below, and feel free to share any of your own responses! We'll be taking them into consideration within any ideation and planning sessions during the upcoming winter Network Retreat in Spain next week. - What challenges and uncertainties are you expecting in the year ahead, for yourself, your community and our network? - What would become possible for your community if those challenges where no longer there? - How can the network support your community to move forward? - What is your vision for yourself, your community and our network?

Learnings from Hosting "Embodying Collective Transformation" with Karl Steyaert

Karl Steyaert is an IFS Practitioner, NVC Trainer, Therapist,  Transformational Facilitator, and general change agent. Together with  Jocelyn Ames, Catherin Tran, and Nadine Helm, he hosted three  back-to-back month-long “Embodying Collective Transformation  Residencies” at the Life Itself Hub in Bergerac France, in the fall of  2022.    In this conversation, we explore some of the lessons learned from  running this massive community experiment. It feels like we only  scratched the surface. Still, there are definitely some nuggets in  there, including topics like framing an event like this, being explicit  about the purpose of any gathering, the nuanced challenges around  leadership that come with shifting roles during an event, how living  together in a close container produces a lot of learning material for  personal growth and how inner and interpersonal work relate to the  â€œworld work”.   To get informed when the ECT team puts up new offerings, you can sign up  for the newsletter of the Cultural Catalyst Network: https://culturalcatalystnetwork.org/contact/  For a deep dive into this project's philosophical and ideological  underpinning, you can check out this conversation with Karl and Theo on  the Life Itself Podcast: https://lifeitself.org/podcast/embodying-collective-transformation-with-karl-steyaert   Jonas also wrote a series of articles on his own learnings from  participating in the November residency.
