Introducing “Qu in Recovery” with Dr. Laura Wood and Dave Mowers
In this episode, host Lysander Mills hands over the mic to QuTheatr co-leaders, Tessa Gaffney and Rosilyn Jentner, to discuss “Qu in Recovery.” Listen in as they interview the creators of the Co-Active Therapeutic Theatre Model, Dr. Laura Wood and Dave Mowers, who literally wrote the book on recovery theatre (on shelves in February). With the support of ArtsNow’s ArtsForward grant, QuTheatr is undergoing an administrative and artistic reboot, so if you’ve ever wondered about the fate of Qu for the next two years, you won’t want to miss this!
Finally, a rebuttal to “this is theatre, not therapy”:
The answer is, “Great. This theatre is about what we learned from our therapy, who we’ve become because of our therapy, what we can access because of our therapy, what we know because of the life we’ve had that’s valuable to other people.”
Thanks to ArtsNow, and a special thank you to our podcast guests and soon-to-be mentors, Laura and Dave.
