Testing the waters: Writer’s Magazine + NYT’s April Fool’s Prank

Testing the waters: Writer’s Magazine + NYT’s April Fool’s Prank

In this episode I read The Writer’s magazine for the first time. We talk about some articles that were originally written for budding writers and try to generalize their (somewhat stoic) teachings for everyone, in every field.
We also talk about what, in my opinion, is one of the most structured and daring April Fool’s Pranks that a publishing house has carried out.

The two resources mentioned in the episode are: The Writing with Color website and Writing the Other by Nisi Shawl and Cynthia Ward.

Disruptive Technology - 1 (Theories of Clayton Christensen)

The MIT Sloan Management Review of Spring 2020 dedicated to Clayton Christensen talks about his theories of disruptive thinking. Clayton is one of the greatest management thinkers of this generation, but don’t worry if you’re not aware of that- neither was I before I started researching for this episode. Reach out to me on Twitter- appleofreak or Instagram- seawaves_light and let me know what you believe have been the biggest disrupters in your industry.

Introduction. DUHA: Did U Hear About

In this pilot episode I investigate my favorite type of journalism and discussion, one that revolves around ideas and not just the people behind them. The article is titled ‘Know Us By Our Deeds’ written by Belinda Luscombe in the 2nd to 9th March 2020 edition of TIME magazine.
