In the next episode of Kyle's apologetics series, he has Richard Porter on to talk about how you can learn apologetics without having to spend years of your life and thousands of dollars of your money getting an advanced degree.  We get to know how Richard became a Christian and got into apologetics, how to learn apologetics effectively, the usefulness of verbal and written debates on the truth of Christianity, Richard's views of Reformed Epistemology and Lydia McGrew's approach to arguing for biblical reliability, the importance of mentors and reading hard books, and more.

Aaron and Kyle get together to do their very first film commentary.  We watch Nacho Libre and talk about it. . . Though we mostly end up talking about politics, American history, and related topics.  After the movie is over, we continue talking about church involvement in the lives of its single congregants.  We encourage you to watch the movie with us during the course of the episode, but you don't have to in order understand or benefit from our conversation.

Aaron and Kyle talk about C.S. Lewis's influential sermon, The Weight of Glory, what its message is, and how it affected their lives.  They also talk about C.S. Lewis's other book, Till We Have Faces.  Eventually, they start talking about idolatry, what it is, and how to tell if you're idolizing something or not.  They then end off by talking about what's going on with their lives and COVID.

Kyle and special guest, Tripp Parker (M.A. in philosophy from Duke), continue responding to Jay Beecher's tweet thread claiming that Christianity is based on pagan myths, the Bible has many errors, and more.

Podcast Spectacular crossover between Ak47 and the New Worlders!

Aaron and Kyle discuss socialism, capitalism, presidential candidates, and government control, to the best of their ability at least.  As usual, their conversation takes several turns.  They talk about how technology will change our lives at home, how we work, and how get get an education, medicare for all, and they warn everyone to not catch the Coronavirus.

Aaron and Kyle give their thoughts on the new Star Wars movie, Rise of Skywalker, and other Star Wars movies and shows.  They talk about the animated Star Wars series, The Clone Wars and Rebels, the new Mandalorian show on Disney Plus, The Knights of the Old Republic games, and the Shadows of the Empire series.  They also briefly get into politics as well.  Expect major spoilers for Rise of Skywalker and a few spoilers for the other shows as well, though they mostly avoid spoilers for the animated T.V. shows.

Aaron and Kyle talk about the recent Unbelievable? discussion between the apologist Sean McDowell and filmmaker Jessica van der Wyngaard on Joshua Harris's recent fall from faith and the effect his book, I Kissed Dating Goodbye, on the church and "purity culture."  We have our usual sidetracks in the conversation where we bring up people and topics like Steve Chalk, David Bentley Hart, Quillette, and evolutionary psychology, but we give our overviews of how Sean and Jessica did in the conversations, what purity culture is, people being in the internet spotlight from an early age, the sexual lives of Old Testament figures and h ow purity culture handles it, what we suspect Harris might do next, dating, and more.

Libby Emmons is back! She discusses metoo, drugs and miniskirts and loads of other inappropriate stuff with Aaron.  You can find her writing all over the place. Just google Libby Emmons and you'll find some controversial topic that she's opinionating all over. 

Also, and this isn't the first time, the explicit tag is on here for a reason. Whenever we tag something with the dreaded E it's because naughty words are spoken. Aaron is just sick of taking the time to put bleeps in when no one really cares that much about naughty words anymore. 

Paul Vanderklay, a pastor in Sacramento and avid Youtuber, joins Kyle to talk about the Canadian clinical psychologist, Jordan Peterson, and the phenomenon surrounding Jordan Peterson.  We talk about what makes Peterson fascinating to people, his approach to the Bible, his view of God, his affect on people, and how the church and culture at large are reacting to him.

The audio on this episode is horrible but the content is excellent. Remember we're only semi-pro pod casters and still use guerrilla podcasting tactics.  In any case Dr. Paul Gottfried is easily one of the most accomplished guests we've ever had on the show and next time Aaron will make sure the audio is fitting for a scholar of his immensity.  

Aaron and Kyle are back after hiding in the shadows for way too long!  They discuss Chappelle's new comedy special on Netflix, comedy in general, and a little bit about what recently happened to Joshua Harris, the author of I Kissed Dating Goodbye.  Of course, politics are big part of the conversation as well.  About an hour and 26 minutes into the recording you'll notice a pause because we ended up having some technical difficulties and had to cut our conversation short, but we'll try to continue the Joshua Harris conversation when we're more prepared in a future episode.

Aaron and Kyle come together to discuss various issues in politics, discussion, arguing logically, the state of discourse, and more.  Aaron tells us about his recent radio appearance and work at a private Christian university, we talk about everyone's desire to control others, Kyle expresses an unusual amount of frustration with how stupid and evil people are, we talk a little about the Mueller Report, and the recent backlash that Nathan Pyle, the creator of the Strange Planet comics, experienced over a tweet a couple of years ago.

Aaron's friend Alex (the "Bernie Bro") is back to do some political punditry. They cover the Democratic Jungle of presidential candidates and explore issues like how Beto raised more money than Bernie.  The sound is not fantastic, due to some technical difficulties. 

Paul Smith and Aaron continue their bizarre/epic discussion of being Missionary Kids in the Philippines! 

This was sort of a "lost episode" from back when we were going to do two separate AK47 podcasts, one long form hosted on our blog and a short form semi weekly on Anchor. Obviously we went exclusively with Anchor since our original idea was very dumb. This episode was a four conversation between Aaron, Kyle, Kyle's Eastern Orthodox friend Gregg Webb (who happens to be gay) and Aaron's friend Brian Sterling. The main subject of discussion was singleness in the church. The audio quality is quite poor, this was recorded in a completely different way than we do now. You can see how far we've come!

Kyle continues his series on becoming an apologist without getting an advanced degree by interviewing Clinton Wilcox.  Clinton is a Christian, but he mostly engages in pro-life speaking and debate.  He has defended the pro-life position in both written and verbal form for years and he has done this without getting an advanced degree.  Despite this, he is very intelligent and informed on the topic.  In this interview, I ask him how he got into pro-life apologetics and how people can prepare themselves to intellectually defend the unborn without having to spend thousands of dollars and years of time getting a degree. 

Aaron Gleason and Kyle Hendricks come back together for another B.S. episode.  We talk about our love for the new Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse movie, which recently won an Oscar.  We also talk about other films, T.V. shows, and anime.  We talk about why the new animated Spiderman was good, how it compares to the other Spiderman movies, superhero movies in general, how these movies and anime handle drama and humor, which movie had the better Kingpin, and more.  Despite talking about our favorite entertainment, we still couldn't help but get political in the second half.  We talk about critical theory, intersectionality, and racism.

Cameron Bertuzzi of Capturing Christianity joins us today in the third installment of Kyle's series of interviews on how to become a competent apologist and have a good apologetics ministry without getting a formal, graduate-level education at a university.  Cameron gives advice on how to start an apologetics ministry, the importance of knowing how to market your platform, how to learn apologetics content, and how to handle the fear and anxiety that can come from discussing and debating your faith with skeptics.

 In today's episode, I interview Sam Harper, who blogs at Philo Christos.  I ask him how he became a Christian, how he became interested in the intellectual side of the Christian faith, and why he decided to start a blog on the topic.  I ask him for advice on how to become a good apologist without a formal education, how to deal with anxiety about having discussions or debates with skeptics, his more controversial theological opinions, and where we can read his stuff. 

We're starting off season two with a BANG! Mark Hemingway (formerly of the murdered Weekly Standard) graced us with his presence. Not physically of course, but Spiritually. We discuss being married to women who make more money than us, free markets, social values, and get some amazing musical recommendations. More Conservative Hocus Pocus!

The launch of The New Worlders Podcast, hosted by AC Gleason and Alan Wells. Part 1 of 4.

The New Worlders will be a tangential discussion show about Conservatism. Real conservatism. Not Libertarianism, not right wing, not traditionalism, not reactionism. No, Gleason and Wells will be obsessing discussing genuine conservatism. A new episode should be up every time The Salisbury Review drops over in England. That's the quarterly magazine founded by Roger Scruton, the Godfather of conservatism in our era.

It will also feature a different libation each episode and hopefully a paired cigar or pipe tobacco.

Look for the New Worlders to launch on its own channel eventually.

Aaron and Kyle end the year with another BS episode.  This time, we talk about anime.  We talk about what even constitutes an anime, what distinguishes anime from non-anime, what even is an "anime style," what shows got anime rolling here in America, a little bit about English dubs, and some good anime series or movies to start out with if you haven't watched anime before.
