Reimagining the shoe one zipper at a time.
Shoes do they always need to be laced? On today's episode of Adaptive the community podcast we talk to Billy Price the cofounder of Billy footwear. A company that is flipping the shoe industry on its head by opening that shoe right up.
As a teenager, Seattle native Billy Price suffered a spinal cord injury and became paralyzed from the chest down, losing the ability to move his fingers. Daily tasks became difficult, but using his creative mind and unyielding spirit, he never gave up. He continued on, facing life's challenges with tenacity and determination.
Born out of a need, BILLY Footwear was founded on the principle of inclusion and perseverance. Along with co-founder Darin Donaldson, Billy strives to add value to the lives of others and make a measurable difference in the world, one foot at a time.

Why I left the University of Northern Colorado, the system is broken
I left this statement in a couple of different places, but it is vitally important to me that it is seen and heard by those that need to see and hear it so that hopefully, students in the future don't experience the same.
I am leaving the University of Northern Colorado because, as a disabled individual, I do not feel that UNC is physically, geographically, or academically properly equipped to be accessible.
Happy Thanksgiving
See you in 2022

Talk to the disabled person!
I want to give credit where credit is due this week's title is from a quote that Sarah yelled while we were recording this episode.
This week's episode's a deep dive into Ableism Generally public interaction from the perspective of the Adaptive/disabled community as I have my good friend Sarah back on to continue our conversation from last week this week we dive into being prayed for by complete strangers, Job interviews and the medical versus social model of disability
Skiing into education
This week's episode is a good reminder that not all disabled people are the same. As I talked to my friend Sarah, I was in An adaptive ski program with and attended school for five years. Although we had these things in common, her experiences with them are very different in the way that we reacted and adapted to them is nothing alike
