After some time away, we're back! Bob and Axel and joined in-studio with special guest, Lain, who will join them throughout the summer to talk about tv, film, and pop culture. The show is in need of a female voice, and now it has it! 

The Alex's are gone for now, but not forgotten. They'll be back as soon as we can sort out the scheduling!

Original Recipe Alex (you'll recognize him from our pre-GoT shows) is in for Neckbeard Alex, who will return before the Finale, so don't you worry. Today's show is our longest episode yet. If you're not hyped for long podcasts, sorry not sorry; we believe this episode of Thrones deserved a lot of discussion. 

Also, we had some technical hiccups so the sound quality is not the best, unfortunately, so you'll hear some dropouts (crackling), but it won't affect your ability to hear what we're saying--but it'll be annoying. Sorry actually we are sorry. But what can we say? WE'RE TRYING OKAY! *sobbing in the background* 

What we can't and won't apologize for is how despite lots of seemingly interesting things happen in The Last of the Starks, none of it stands up to logical scrutiny. Why does Varys confuse stress with madness? Why is Tyrion still so bad at his job now, but Qyburn and Euron are the fucking Bash Bros of King's Landing? How did 1/2 of the Winterfell forces survive, OH, and who the eff is this new Prince of Dorne? What's his freaking name? AND WHAT HAPPENED TO SCOUTS AND AIR SUPERIORITY?! EFFING W.M.D.s MAN! Arg. We make our predictions for next week and try to figure out who dies.

WOW. A wild episode with an appropriately energized podcast to follow. Axel hosts today's show, allowing Bob to go off on some more tangents and make more bad analogies, and Alex brings some neckbeard theory-craft, as per usual. Wow, what a premier... or was it? The ATL boys have some thoughts on what went well and what went wrong with the Season 8 Premier of Game of Thrones. To start the show, Bob let's himself be gaslighted by Alex and Axel, and opens up about how being a dog owner is great, but different and not for everyone. Oh and Axel says protagonist at least twice; no lesson learned from last week.

Today on the Add to List Podcast: The guys tackle two "climbing" movies. Climbing is actually in air-quotes because it's unclear whether or not these two films are about climbing or if climbing is just a superficial backdrop for a deeper examination of the human condition *eye roll*. On today's episode, the guys combine two fun gimmicks into one long ass show about Spider Man: Into the Spider Verse and Spider-Man 3, arguably best an worst Spider-Man movies ever made (@addtolistpod if you disagree). They tried a new recording setup, and unfortunately, Bob and Axel decided to eat their mics for the whole show. Chalk it up to growing pains!

 Add to List is back with a packed out show. Our True Detective pilot season is over, so what did we talk about? Captain Marvel hit theaters last week, so naturally, we decided to see ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL on it’s last day in theaters — well, last day in our local theater, anyway. Before getting to that, we cold open the show with an impromptu roast of Blue Man Group Will Smith as the Genie in Disney’s upcoming Aladdin live action adaptation, before giving our final final final thoughts on True Detective Season 3. After that - a more sobering conversation about Leaving Neverland, the HBO documentary about Michael Jackson’s alleged abuse of two young boys who have finally come forward years later to tell their stories. Then, we have a little fun with the Game of Thrones trailer and pick at Netflix’s Umbrella Academy before diving into Alita: Battle Angel to close the show.

In this True Detective Season 3 Finale discussion, the Add to List Boys meticulously dissect nearly every scene of the episode, spending far too much time on Wayne’s encounter with Edward Hoyt, Mr. June’s exposition dump, and the West Finger Runaway Jetstream. If your favorite type of podcast includes exhaustive conversation and low speaking voices, this is the episode for you! 

This week, the boys are jet lagged after a trip. Bob and Alex are calling in from Japan.

True Detective, Season 3, Episode 5: "Hunters in the Dark"
On this week's episode, Alex graciously accepts his win (by Price is Right rules, of course) for guessing the correct number of casualties at Brett's, Axel mansplains the legalese of "discovery," and Bob takes pity on all the real life cops who work in the evidence locker, since their TV counterparts set the bar very, very low. All this, plus our show recap & reactions, our attempts to unravel the mystery surrounding Julie's disappearance, and some much deserved praise for Old Man Dorff.

The one where Bob is wrong about the body count. Axel think Henry be cheating and Alex just wants to see the mysterious "Aunt" with the brown luxury vehicle.
