Ealing Independent College Azoomni

Our latest episode features Hersi, who came to the College to complete an A Level programme in Biology, Chemistry and Photography.

Here, Hersi discusses his transition from an underachieving student to one who was able to excel, and in doing so, get a place at Kingston University to study Pharmacology.

This episode of the EIC Alumni podcast features Syed - a tremendous example of someone who took full advantage of a second opportunity to get himself and his career moving in the right direction by undergoing an intensive year at the College.

Studying Physics, Economics and Geography, Syed pushed mediocre grades up to excellent ones, and then took an offer to study Physical Geography at Queen Mary University, London.

Now working as a data analyst, Syed discusses his happy memories of how the College helped to change his approach to studying and how it gave him a great deal of new motivation to succeed.

EIC Azoomni Series 5 continues with Daniil, who studied at the College having come from Russia.

Daniil studied Maths, Physics and Chemistry intensively, then moved on to Manchester University to undertake a Batchelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering.

He has then taken on many jobs in the petrol engineering sector, in both the UK and Russia.

Here he talks about his time at the College, the Intensive Course, and achieving excellent grades with the help of some wonderful teaching.

EIC Azoomni is back, and its back with a bang.

Series 5 kicks off with Hamza, who attended the College to sit his A Levels, and left in 2017, having relocated from Qatar.

An exceptional football talent, Hamza was part of both EIC FC league winning squads, playing as a creative midfielder.

He took some time to find the right educational path, but his story shows that with perseverance, one can find success.

Harry was an EIC student in 2015/2016 and studied Maths, English Lit, and History. 

He then went to Exeter University to study Politics, Philosophy and Econimics. Harry is now a Business Development Representative.

Fabien attended Ealing Independent College from September 2017 to June 2021, completing both his GCSEs and A Levels here. 

In Y12 and 13, he studied History, English Lit, and Maths. He remembers the College as the place where he learnt to be patient and developped an interest for debating competitions.  

Fabien is now studying Ancient History, whilst also dedicating some time to his passions, amongts wich music and directing.

This week, following our 2023 Scholarship Competition, we invited the winner of the 2019 Competition, Namit, to join our podcast.

Namit tells us about his experience of joining the Competition and winning the Scholarship, then describes his path at EIC: he obtained excellent grades in his four A Levels - Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science, and Physics.

He is now studying Design Engineering at Imperial College.

Daniel joined EIC in 2013 to achieve both his GCSEs and A Levels.

He moved to the UK from the Republic of Korea, trusting Ealing Independent College to be the best institution to complete his education. 

He then studied Computer Science at King's College and worked as a Web developper. He is now a Software Developper in the foreign exchange industry.

Thomas joined the College in 2016 and studied Maths, Physics, and Chemistry intensively. The courses Thomas picked were definitely challenging, especially as they were taken in one year, but his strong drive made him excel and obtain three A*.

After his A Levels, he travelled to India and dedicated himself to the practice of Meditation.

He now leads his own business, which operates in the Tech field, and lives in Portugal, where he also still practices Medication.

When Sulaiman started at EIC in Y12, he picked Maths, Biology and Chemistry, to pursue the medical route; however, he soon realised that he was more inclined towards humanities, and at the end of Y12 he made a drastic change: he swithced to Politics, History, and Arabic, and took all three intensively, in one year. 

After completing his A Levels with great results, he entered King's College University to study Ancient History. 

He is currently doing a PGDL at the University of Law to become a Barrister.

Charlie was an EIC student for only one year; he joined with the hope to re-sit his A Level exams and improve his grades, and eventually be able to join medical school.

Charlie is currently studying Medicine.

Anjana was a student at EIC from 2016 to 2018. He studied English Literature, History, Government and Politics (and Spanish at AS).

His confidence really grew at the College, transforming him from a shy student to a proactive one, and facilitating the transition to University.

Anjana studied History at University whilst also gaining some work experience in the Human Resources field. He is now an HR advisor.

In today’s episode, Allan interviews the founder of our student magazine, Alex.

She studied Art, Photography, and Sociology from 2019 to 2021.

During her time at Ealing Independent College, she led several initiatives that promoted inclusivity and gave the chance to other students to make their voice heard.

Our Alumni Podcast is back with Season 4! This is Episode 1 of the series, where Allan catches up with Dominic. 

Dominic became an EIC student in 2017, and completed an A Level course in 2019. 

He studied Maths, French and Spanish in Y12, before deciding to shift to Business Studies, which he took intensively in Y13. 

He has recently graduated from University and is now looking to enter the world of work.

Michelle came to the College for a one-year intensive A-Level course, and she studied Chemistry, Biology and Psychology intensively. She left the College with AAA. 

She then moved to Newcastle to study Biomedical Science, and she is now completing a Master in Cancer Biology at Kingston University.

Mo Hamza was at the College from 2013 to 2017. He joined in Y9 after moving to London from South Arabia; he was attracted by the different energy that the College showcased when he first visited.

He studied Maths, Biology, Chemistry, and Computer Science at A-Levels.

He shares all his lovely memories of his College years, from his first impression to Results Day.

Episode 8 of EIC Azoomni Podcast, season 3, where Allan catches up with previous Alumni of the College.

Danial joined Ealing Independent College in Y9 and continued his studies there until the end of his A-Level course.

When he first joined, he spoke very little English, but the encouraging, familiar College environment helped him progress and develop.

His competitive personality made him an excellent football player. The memories he has from his football games are his dearest from his College years.

At University he studied International Business Management, followed by a year abroad in Spain.

Maneet joined the College in 2016 to complete her sixth form courses. She studied Maths, Chemistry, and Spanish.

Despite feeling demotivated at her previous school, where she was from year 7 to 12, she found that Ealing Independent College not only helped her to find her motivation again, but also taught her an efficient work ethic.

After completing her A-Levels, she started a university course in Accounting and Finance; however, she then changed to Economics, Politics and International Relations, which interested her much more. She is now considering either continuing on a Master’s Degree, or start a career in her field.

Riyal was a self-driven, motivated and positive student who joined EIC for a GCSE Intensive course, then studied Maths, Chemistry, Biology, and English Literature at A-Levels at the College.

After a complicated relationship with the previous big school she attended, she appreciated the much smaller and familiar she found at EIC, where she received a lot of guidance and support from the teachers.

She is currently studying Pharmacy at UCL.

Today’s guest is Jamie Gould, who was a EIC student for a year in 2015/16.

He studied History and Sociology at A-Levels, then studied Photography at Leeds University.

He is currently considering several paths to start a long term career in his sector, perhaps in the industry of marketing, advertising, films, or visual communications. In the meantime, he is working as a Teaching Assistant at the Questors Theatre in Ealing.

Riya has been an EIC student from 2014 to 2018. Her main interest had always been Science, and when she first came to the College she found that she had the opportunity to really focus on the three sciences here.

Thanks to her hard work, her GCSE results were impressive: two A*s, five As, and two Bs. 

During her A-level course she studied Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and Psychology. 

After leaving the College, she went to University to study Biomedical Science, whilst also completing a training as Clinical Research Assistant.

Edward joined EIC on a GCSE course, and then continued here for A-Levels. He studied Maths, Chemistry, and Physics. 

He was an active member of the College Community: he was part of the Football Club, Student Council, and promoter of many initiatives to embellish the College Building (he painted the walls of the "Reading Room"). 

He is currently studying Space Engineering, and would like to work as an F1 engineer after finishing his degree. 

Episode 2 of EIC Azoomni, Season 3, where Allan catches up with previous Alumni of the College.

Azim became a student of EIC in 2013. He is was not only a brilliant student, but also the goalkeeper of the EIC Football Team. 

He attended Queen Mary University for a year. He then worked for some time at his dad's Company, which was a valuable experience for him as it gave him the  aspiration of founding his own business one day. 

He is currently studying at Brunel University.

Rasna is a very ambitious individual who came to the College for a two-year A-Level course. She studied Economics, Psychology and Sociology. 

After her A-Levels, she took a gap year and started an internship in a law firm, then moved to a Bank. She truly enjoyed her work environment and decided to pursue a career there. She is currently working at the same workplace where she started a few years ago.

Pejman joined the College in Y9, and stayed until Y13.

In this episode he enthusiastically explains how, during his A-levels, he discovered a deep passion for Arts and Psychology.

Pejman then went to study at the University of Central Saint Martins.

Balgees came to EIC to improve her GCSE grades, then continued studying at the College for her A Levels. She took English Literature, Sociology, and Psychology.

She remembers the College as a place that transformed her from a shy student to an ambitious young woman.

Balgees is now studying Criminology at the University of Kent.

After a challenging experience with University in the Netherlands, Yuri came to EIC where he studied A-levels Maths and Physics at EIC from September 2015.

He then studied Aerospace Engineering at Brunel University in London to Master’s Degree Level.

Sara attended Ealing Independent College for a wide range of GCSE courses; she excelled in all subjects. 

She is now studying Chemistry at UCL.

Remi studied Biology, Physics, and Chemistry at EIC, where he achieved the grades he needed to access University. 

He then studied Biochemistry at Queen Mary's University.

Jamie studied Biology, Chemistry and Physics, before discovering his interest for Politics during his last year. 

He studied PPE in Manchester, and is now considering, amongst other things, to start a masters' degree.

Episode 4 of EIC Azoomni where Allan catches up with previous Alumni of the College. Nousheen studied an A-Level Intensive Course after receiving disappointing results previously. She has now gone onto study Geography at Queen Mary's University.

Episode 3 of EIC Azoomni where Allan catches up with previous Alumni of the College. Abdulaziz was a long-standing member of the EIC community. His hard work and support at the College meant he was able to achieve of his goal of studying Politics at Russell Group University. 

Series 2 of EIC Azoomni where Allan catches up with previous Alumni of the College. Dabin came to EIC to rekindle his passion for education and the humanities, enrolling on an A-level Intensive course after deciding to change his subject choices. He has now gone on to study History and Politics and Queen Mary's University.

Series 2 of EIC Azoomni where Allan catches up with previous Alumni of the College. Michelle was a mature student who studied A-levels Intensively after deciding to change her career path and she made a great impact both in terms of academics and contributing to wider College life. 

Episode 14 in a series of catch-ups between Allan and Ealing Independent College Alumni. Jay studied at EIC for five years, took accelerated GCSEs and went on to achieve great A-level grades too.

Episode 13 in a series of catch-ups between Allan and Ealing Independent College Alumni. Thanu is a more recent alumni from the College and joined us on an A-level course after studying in Singapore. 

Episode 12 in a series of catch-ups between Allan and Ealing Independent College Alumni. Jack studied a full A-level course intensively at the College and went on to really improve his grades in one year.

Seb is another great success story of the College as after joining us to improve his A-level grades, he went onto study at University of Bristol and is now completing his postgraduate studies at Imperial College.
